Is the moto 360 (2014) a good buy?
If you want an entry level smartwatch, sure.
Honestly I would pony up the cash for a 2nd gen watch. The 1st gen Moto 360 is slow, the battery life isn't the greatest and it lags at times when lifting your wrist to check the time. Plus the bands are a pain in the ass to change.
I'm actually looking to replace mine with a 2nd gen soon.
When does the new 360 come out?
Dude it's been out for weeks.

Did you get your amazingly awesome non Android Wear Gear 2 from your beloved Samsung overlords? My god the Zenwatch 2 is only 150 bones, but the bezels are real.
The 1st gen is 46mm, so no.Do bands from the first gen of the 360 work on the 2nd gen? I have the tylt sport band and was wondering if I could use it on the 42mm mens 2nd gen.
The Gear S2 looks really good as a wearable. Tizen just *might* be a good thing here, since AW can't be customized to this extent:

NFC + plus the watch isn't tied to Samsung phones anymore. Cons: ugly TW colours, no speakers

Ah yeah, didn't realize because Motomaker was giving me a date pretty far out.
Now I'm just trying to figure out which one I should get:
Huawei - sick build, no flat tire
Moto 360 - 50 dollars cheaper, flat tire
S2 Classic- amazing bezel utility, but Tizen
Great summary... definitely a dilemma.
The other option is wait for 3rd gen. I don't know which I'll do, but I know if I'm dropping 300+ bones on a watch I want it to be around for a several years.
Yeah that's why I'm in waiting mode. Just not sure if I want to bite at the price point.I don't think any current smart watch battery lasts that long.

I think for me I need to see a comprehensive comparison between the S2's Tizen OS and Android wear. Because I think the bezel navigation is so genius...
The navigation is interesting, but Tizen is such a dead end for a consumer product, I don't know why anyone would waste money on it.
Yeah, that's the only dilemma I have. For me the main thing I want from a smartwatch is notifications and some basic phone control and functionality. I think the more future proof purchase is probably AW though, yeah. Maybe get an S2 or Tizen product once they're able to prove the ecosystem can thrive.
Does Best Buy carry the 360 and Huawei in stores? I might go check them out.

I picked up my Huawei at BB. I believe they have 360s as well and they are definitely more popular since they have like half an aisle dedicated to them. Only downside is that there are so many models, the one you may want may not be on hand. It's a good way to see the size difference between the 42 and 46mm versions and which one looks better for your wrist. In the end if you end up picking the 360, you may just be better off getting it on Moto's site unless they have the specific model you want in stock.
That said, by the time Android Wear becomes good, the watch you buy now might be obsolete as well.
Saw the 360 in person at bb and its large screen looks really good. Fuck the sexist marketing tho. Also couldn't use it since it just ran the demo. They didn't have the other aw watches either. Think I'll wait for a holiday sale to pick one up.I picked up my Huawei at BB. TBH the 360 is better value and a better buy in most circumstances because of how customizable they are and how it looks. Downsides are the LCD screen and the flat tire which bothers me no matter how long I've had the original.
I may really consider returning my Huawei Watch. It is nice as hell, but the price tag is just too steep for something I probably am just wearing to look fly. I may opt for the Zenwatch 2 when the smaller one is available.
Sooo...considering that the 46mm Moto 360 is 350 as well...which one would you get?
Honestly the 46m is too big for me. I absolutely cannot stand the flat tire but alot of people are fine with it. It really depends on how you feel about the flat tire. If you don't mind it, get the 360.
Isn't the Huawei watch 46 mm?

Even if both are $350?
Yup I think the customization aspect is the best part of the 360.
Imo, none of the watches are a good buy for more than $250. It's still very early days and battery degradation is going to turn these useless in two years. You can get a relatively nice regular watch for $350, which lasts longer.
But I get that gadget lust is a real thing.

Which is why I'm returning my Huawei. As nice as it is, I can't justify the $350. Zenwatch 2 with the same functionality and just a little bit uglier is so much better value. How do people justify Apple Watch purchases?
How was battery life on your Huawei watch?
Mine has been inconsistent these past two days. Which is to say, really bad.
