Brad Muir joins Valve

Congratz, Brad!

I'd like to imagine he'll have a bit more job security at Valve rather than Double Fine, and whether or not he'll take part in any upcoming game projects (spoilers: L-O-L) is up in the air, but at the very least, there's an Infinite Smile Machine in the Valve Offices now.

If he does indeed join the dota team:

While I personally don't care about dota, I imagine being able to work on a game you really love is a dream come true for him. I am very happy for him!

Massive congratz to him.
Dota 2 to get turn based game mode.

A game developer saying they are going to work at Valve is like when your parents tell you they sent the dog to live on a farm.

They might be dead or they might be having the time of their lives. I dont know. All I know is they are gone forever.

This slayed me.

Congrats to him, but I would rather have seen him continue to make games of his own design. Enjoyed both Iron Brigade and Massive Chalice.

What he going to do, make the tea and sweep the floor?...as Value sure dont release fuck all in the games department

I'm not spamming "oh he's gonna make no games" or "oh he's gonna make hats" (which is pretty misinformed too)
Half the messages here are this, it's pretty sad

Oh sorry, I'll go play the last Doug Church game from his prolific trajectory in Valve.

Good for him, no doubt a great career move.

So what do you gather he's going to work on over at Valve?

Valve have released three new games in the past 5 years, not a bad output considering their size and everything they have to work on.

As is the case with every Valve thread, its pages are filled with a bunch of tired old jokes about how Valve 'makes no games'. I know we're not supposed to backseat mod and if my complaint is out of line I'll accept the consequences but I really have to ask, are the mods ever going to do something about it? How many times must we see the "Valve makes no games-yes they do-no they don't-thread derail" cycle repeat before it is considered a problem?

Damn, I would love to see him make games with bigger budgets, nice to see him at valve.

That said, he works at valve so no more games from him.
