This guy just went off Ken's leak and also the popularity polls mostly.

No way Sean doesn't show up at some point now.
Yeah I'm fairly confident he's DLC. I expect a pre-Ken training look for him.
My guess would be Alex and Urien will be in the Collector's Edition as DLC codes. That would really make me consider getting CE of SFV.![]()
It'd probably be like Jill & Shuma to where they're available the month after launch. This would straight up piss me off.

Ken has never trained Sean- that's a common misconception http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Sean
Exactly. I can make guesses as to what popular characters will be in the game eventually too, doesn't mean I'm in the know. Siliconera's leak had 4 popular characters in it and only 2 were right. Pretty much every fake leak list out there had Karin Mika Urien and Alex in it, hell people were straight up calling out Siliconera's info as being bullshit specially because of that.
Reading into what Siliconera hasn't said is giving them credibility they didn't earn. It's just like the people trying to convince themselves that the game will have more than 16 characters at launch and that one list with 19 characters in it was right all along.

I'm not discrediting their credibility as a whole, just about this specific bit. I don't doubt that they got info from someone, just that said info was actually accurate.Except that Siliconera has been pretty on point with leaks before anything involving Street Fighter 5. The entire point is that they HAVE earned credibility, and Alex and Urien being very early DLC characters would be perfectly in line with their leak. It could very well be that their information is wrong, but them not being in the exact starting 16 isn't a death knell to their credibility.
I'm putting stock into Siliconera sources because they are one of the few journalististic websites that we have that put themselves out there with this info. The Alex/Urien and R.Mika/Karin articles all came around E3, a time where Capcom was likely finalizing their plans for what the intinal roster and early DLC plans are.
But If they are wrong, then they are wrong and they will suffer the price in reputation and in their integrity.
Absolutely not. Half of those characters are non-essential.
It's funny because he's right there to the left I can the "F" in Zangief over thereAnd still nothing on gief lol
This. I get the appeal of familiarity, but you gotta have some fresh faces (both newcomers & characters we haven't seen in a while, mostly the former). Having just 6 World Warriors would allow for some of that familiarity to aid the game's appeal, but also for more variety to get their time in the sun.Agreed.
If they could limit themselves to six Street Fighter 2 characters in any initial roster from this point on that would be a nice compromise.
Has anyone took a pic of Gief's movelist?
lol srsly. is he 360 or not??And still nothing on gief lol
I sent a message to my friend to get a Zangief moveset image up. Hopefully he sees said message.Grimløck;181155800 said:lol srsly. is he 360 or not??

We have no reason to shun them, but we have no reason to think that their SF info is good either.
It wouldn't be completely in line with thier leak, they said they would be included and playable and they claimed they had a source that confirmed it. If they are DLC then they are wrong.
I sent a message to my friend to get a Zangief moveset image up. Hopefully he sees said message.

Not a problem. Now to wait for his response.thank you bud
I just find that way too convenient. Leaks are only leaks if they are accurate, when Siliconera leaked FF7 they were very clear that not only would the game be announced but it would be shown at e3. It's not reasonable, it's blind faith. If they were claiming Alex and Urien to be DLC they would have said so because fighting game rosters are finalized way before the characters are actually done so if Alex and Urien were DLC whoever got them the info would have known. But you can say that about every leak ever before the actual information comes out. Of course you don't know if something is true until it is true. All I'm saying is that given Siliconera's previous successes, it is reasonable for people to suggest that the leak could still be accurate with Alex and Urien being DLC, even if they aren't on the starting roster.

When I see you guys putting words on Siliconera's mouth - err fingers - to justify their info this is what I see:

But that argument requires Siliconera to have more information than they may have had, more information than the leakers had. You setting up rules that for the leak to be accurate it HAS to be the starting roster and not DLC doesn't actually mean anything. It is arbitrary.
The only thing that actually matters is that someone really got true information about the game and passed it along to Siliconera or not. If for example Alex is announced as the first DLC character and Urien is the unplayable boss of the game who is going to be eventual DLC, it would be completely unreasonable to say the Siliconera leak was false just because they weren't in the starting roster.
For the record, I actually don't care about either of the characters being in the game, I especially don't expect Alex to be the last old character in the starting roster, and I don't care about the Siliconera leak panning out or not. I'm just saying that the argument of "if they aren't in the starting roster the leak was wrong" is simply nonsense.
"Look out for the two to be announced at some point in the future". That does not imply DLC at all.Sources have confirmed to Siliconera that Alex and Urien from Street Fighter III will be playable characters in Street Fighter V as well. Look out for the two to be announced at some point in the future.

Sure it would be unreasonable to say the Siliconera leak was wrong if they eventually make it in the game, but at this moment you guys have zero reason other than wishful thinking to twist their words just to fit your hopes.
"Someday" isn't info. Akuma will be announced at some point for SF5 too. That implies they will be announced "at some point". "Some point" may very well be after the game's release
It implies either launch or DLC.This is what Siliconera had to say about Alex and Urien:

It can imply anything. Hell it could even imply they were planned for the roster but scrapped like some Vanilla SF4 characters. They might be DLC, they might never make into the roster, I don't fucking know, but until Siliconera rectifies their info it means nothing and even if Alex/Urien make it into the game eventually that won't immediatly confirm Siliconera was right all along. It can imply them as being DLC, based on-
1- The game has 16 characters for its initial roster
2- If they're not among the initial roster, they'd be DLC
3- They can be announced for being DLC in coming weeks and months
