I don't really get why they would do anything with anyone. It's Street Fighter V and character reveals will get attention regardless. Why risk it when Famitsu(or every other site) will cover it anyway? Are the media outlets paying that much?

You guys think that Capcom is holding a panel that Ono is attending and not show new characters? C'mon son. This is NYCC. At the very least, we are getting teases for DLC characters b/c I don't think we are getting a Zen or Sim announcement. I think they will stick with theme of announcing characters coinciding with conventions in their home countries.
The real question is whether or not Capcom will announce a new character during PGW that is coming up at the end of the month.

Ono just flew to Mexico just to sign autographs and not announce any characters...
But this is NYCC breh. SFXT, MVC3 and UMVC3 all got character announcements during this con in the past years.

The more important NYCC bit is from the description where it says a "surprise or two."
Not true. You're thinking of Brazil, which he did announce only that it wasn't a surprise.

The first time you see it, it's definitely distracting.
No, I just don't see how people can focus on a body part when there's so much going on. It's never been a distraction for me in any game.
Of course, they are just polygons and sprites, nothing really for me to be distracted by.

Boxer, Claw, Yang, Honda, Blanka and more were featured in background stages in IV. Alex being a background character doesn't confirm or deny him being in the game.
What's weird is that Capcom showing off a stage feat. Alex to the public when they are saving him for an announcement a day later. Makes me think he is not getting announced at their panel.

Never said it did. Airfield stage in 4 has Balrog, Vega, and Bison on it depending on who you chose.

That being said, now we know his default costume or "look" in the game whenever he shows up. Looks terrible tbh.

And a big fucking explosion is just a particle effect, it doesn't mean one is immune to disraction by it.

I know it's just a joke really, but fixing cars fits perfectly with Alex's street punk persona. Makes sense that's what he'd do when he's not wrestling.

I'm not a huge fan of the redesign, but I feel like the fact that Capcom bothered redesigning him at all is decent evidence that they're planning to include him.
Imagine them using his TvC model haha :')

I think it's more just the general jankiness of the background models than the design itself, even though you can tell more work was put into him than some random nobody. I think the ripped pants are cooler than the draped overalls (which I also liked) and the shorter hair might look good, it's too soon to tell now.
