Well, if anything, this announcement encapsulates my biggest problem with SFV graphically at the moment... Why do the background characters look SO awful. I know they looked awful in SFIV as well, but this is getting ridiculous. Surely the PS4 could handle better models than that.

It was hard to tell for certain that it was Alex in the background. Like, he had familiar aspects and characteristics, but the model is such a mess that it was hard to be certain.

I'm guessing that they didn't want to waste CPU power on the background when said power could be used to keep the framerate consistent.

It's a fighting game on PS4 lol. Its not Uncharted. They have a hell of a lot to work with in terms of power and scale. The reality is the shitty backgrounds probably come down to budget.

Sim is certainly not a stranger. And, I am pretty sure he was playable before Sagat was.

Heh, I'm looking forward for those kind of challenges. Look like we might have to wait for a month until we would able to see Dhalsim trailer because I'm really curious how he would work in SFV.

Yeah, I think at this point it's pretty likely that Urien and Alex will be revealed as DLC characters they'll have available around launch.

I'm expecting Guile or Dhalsim as the last classic character.

I assume got upset with SCEA for their youtube leak so pushed back the Alex announcement in order to don't make it at NYCC. They'll annouce it probably in a non US event.

Dhalsim stinks and I'm bored of seeing him again and again, I'd prefer to have Zen cover his gameplay style. I want Alex and Zen as the remaining characters, being Urien the final boss.

If both Alex and Urien are pushed back to DLC characters and Zen is the new one, then I'd like to see Guile back instead of Dhalsim. I love Guile and would fit really well with the game story now that Charlie is back and everybody is blonde.

Good news is that it seems alex is the first character up for DLC

I really doubt that. If the first DLC character isn't an unplayable boss character it will be someone who's actually popular. You know like Akuma, Juri, Dudley, Sakura, Sagat etc.

People tend to overstate how popular Alex is, he was the 5th highest SF3 original character in Capcom's SF poll behind Q, Ibuki, Dudley and Makoto. Those 4 plus Urien (potential boss/secret boss character) have a better chance of hitting SFV before Alex...
