The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone |OT| Heroes of Gwent

Rose on a Red Field spoiler

I waited around to see if CDProjekt would actually let those two fallen knights count to a hundred, holy shit haha. And afterwards they attacked me.

They'll top it with enhanced edition update, you'll see.

Anyone else having weird gamepad issues on the PC? When I try to navigate menus with the d-pad it goes all over the place. Also I keep seeing button prompts switch back and forth between keyboard and gamepad controls.

Euroguy here, um, why does it say "Coming soon" at the title screen regarding the expansion? Is it not online?

I bought the season pass and the game is updated as far as I know.

Are you on GoG? If so, click ''more'', go to ''Get Backup and Extras'', you'll find the expansion underneath the DLC section.

okay, wtf game, in the quest Rose on a red Field

in the cave, the dude making a narco business

Killed everybody and then, two fuckers, 10 levels higher than the others (red skulls) block the exit. They go through my parry. Can't run. I'm so fucked. Bug or what ? I'm stuck here

Sounds like a very nasty bug, reload your game from a previous save.
I axiied both, sat there until the stopped counting, and then killed them before going in the cave and fighting Ulrich.

Oh that sucks, thought i could use my lvl 40 geralt to play this expansion.
I'll have to reload the older non-ng+ save now. :(

Man, having not played the game for a while made me forget how cumbersome fighting a ton of enemies in a confined space is.

I must have died like 15 times when fighting the rose army dudes turned rouge in that drug cave. I kept rolling and getting stuck between steps and platforms.
Other than that, I've been enjoying the expansion so far. I believe I finished the main game at level 35 so I'm not ridiculously over leveled right now.

Beat the first boss on Death March, and I loved it

I beat it on my third try, and that was because I'm manly (or stupid, you choose) and I did the fight without White Raffard or Swallow potions. I think the key for me was to not roll when he does a vertical jump, a backward evade, if done in time, gives you enough distance to avoid the damage and it lets you go on attacking directly, as you are still enough to hit him.
You use the anti-venom potion, the critic potion, and whatever else, and you are good to go. He is supposed to be vulnerable against the
cold bomb, though he also can catch fire if you are specialized enough in Igni.

For me the third boss fight was much harder. The key was to not fight him as a normal Witcher battle, which normally are solved through the use of potions, bombs, venoms, signs, while you evade and roll when it isn't a good moment to fight.
The real key was just simply
being patient and only use parry, parry, parry, and counter parry when he attack with a red attack (there is a sound signal easy to recognize), which he was two types of. Then hit heavy attack, light attack, light attack, and then evade when he throws dust to your face.
Repeat 15 times.

Its good to be back to the Witcher.

Tho... i think i ran into a bug. On the Contract: Skellige's Most Wanted.

I easily beat the werewolf only for it to go to a corner and i assume he would trigger a cutscene or dialogue. But all he does is just move up and down. lol. I tried it twice, but with the same result.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: i guess ps4 is not fixed yet? Read that PC is fixed.

I'm loving the difficulty increase. I'm keeping it on Blood & Broken Bones for now since thats what my original save was set to but damn this'll be fun to go back to on Death March later.

And this has to do with the expansion.... because?

Anyways, the quest is still bugged.

Hm? You can play this on NG+.....

Provided you can get to level 60 on NG+.

Two questions...

1) Is there a difficulty related trophy? I.e. Do I have to play on Death March?
2) Regarding
The Prince
Boss Battle, when did W3 become fucking Dark Souls?

Wait, come again? I haven't loaded this up yet but I was keeping track of it before release. You have to be level 60 in NG+ to access this?

Uh... yes. Everything in NG+ is increased by 30 levels (Including quests, enemy levels, gear, etc...). What did you think? :P

Is there anything you can do with extra level up points? I'm 36 and have 4 spare points, but I don't see what I can do with them when there's no more slots on the character build.

Pretty much nothing. They really should give us 3 more skill slots. My only complaint so far

I am far too excited to be back in this world! I love how it feels like I haven't done anything at all yet, since I've only been messing around for about an hour, but I've actually already cleared a camp full of religious nutjob bandits, made friends with the dudes from Ofeir and won a race, killed some wraith coupled with a sad story, cleared up an abandoned camp by killing a few Nekker nests and finished the night off by listening to the kids singing outside the new village.

I've got a bonus to it too since I've upgraded my PC since playing the base game, so I'm sort of seeing the world in a new light. A light where everything is set to ultra and in which this game is ridiculously gorgeous.

Ugh.. .i was thinking of starting again TW3 on pc... but i am way too attached to some of my decisions so far. I will go back to the pc again once i am happy and done with my ps4 copy.

But yea.. the game runs amazing. Last time i checked it was running smooth at 4k with everything ultra. Some of the reshades of the game actually look pretty amazing too!

Now you are tempting me to play on pc. haha

Feels fantastic to have been content. And interesting quests at that. I got really excited thinking
we crashed on the shores of Ofieri. Was disappointed it was just north.
I just can't wait to see how this all unfolds. And I wish Shani was in the original game.

Also, anyone that is playing this post-game. Does it acknowledge stuff that happens in the endings, specifically with the rebellion and Oxenfurt? Don't remember which ending I got, but curious about the King.

Ugh an unfortunate oversight.

This is how I felt too. I just finished MGSV, and to be honest Afghanistan was starting to wear on me with it's drab brown colors and empty world.

The world of the Witcher just feels so warm and dense. It feels like you're returning to a living, breathing world. 3 hours last night just melted away. Great game.

I had the same temptation. It runs soooo nice on PC but I wanted to continue my original choices and save from the PS4 version (not like I've had time to catch-up my PC save anyways lol).

I figure I'll wait for the inevitable Enhanced Edition or something and just replay the whole game on PC later, both expansions and all. PS4 runs really nice now anyways. The only thing that annoys me is that the menus still lag terribly.

Same.

At least the menus are a tad better. Also i like that they finally color coded the oils and potions better. Not to mention they adjusted the weight of things and you have a stash. Makes a big difference now.

GotY edition on PC sounds mighty promising. Maybe i'll wait.

Phew, 3 hours in and so glad to be back Witching again. Already
2 boss fights
as well!

Thought that the
giant toad was tough, but not impossible, whereas the mage was sooooooooooo hard for me, because I didn't go back into my inventory and re-equip all my shit, so fought that whole group of guys naked

So anyone else stuck without swords after the first boss? Seems one of the patches increased the level requirement of my swords and now they are unequipped. The first time after the cutscene it was fine but I died during it and had to reload causing Geralt not to have a weapon.

Ugh an unfortunate oversight.

Indeed, MGSV's world feels so lifeless and barren in comparison.

The first boss battle is really souring me on the expansion, what a cheap piece of crap.

Edit: beat him. Didn't enjoy a single second of that.

I've gotten pretty deep into this game and some of the later bosses are really interesting mechanically and VERY difficult. Much more difficult than anything in the regular game. I'm playing on death march.

Early impressions of the first few hours:

- I've encountered a lot of technical bugs, things like Geralt flying when loading cutscenes or one in particular when he and Roach started to walk with their legs bent, sort of like a Groucho walk or something. And Skellige's most wanted is still bugged, figures.

- The fights are way more difficult than in the main story or is it me? The first pack of spiders were kicking my ass, and I still haven't figured it out how to fight them properly. Maybe the trick is in Yrden (the last pack I fought felt pretty easily when luring them into the trap), but still. I beat the main game without so much as breaking a sweat from the mid twenties onward and everything in this expansion is hitting for so much damage.

- The first boss fight is bullshit

You can't flank the toad and ranged damage is a joke in this game, so, what the hell are you suppossed to do? I cheesed my way out of it with Quen + Strong + Evade, but it took WAY too long. I must have been doing something wrong for sure.

- Then the fight in (red rose spoilers)

the cave with the million soldiers was bullshit too, I died three times. They were hitting like a truck even though I was 5 levels above them, what the fuck? In the end I Ignied the fuck out of them with the rune Igni sign.

Even so, the experience is positive and thank god for this expansion, I was playing Arkham Knight before this and I was reaching the point when the tank shit was being insuferable (seriously, what a way to kill a game) so this is a welcome breath of fresh (old in fact lol) air.

PS4, I don't know what I did but now it works, thanks anyway!
