TMZ: Lamar Odom Found Unconscious In Nevada Brothel

I knew about the reported drug use. I never knew about his friends ODing and his son. Yeesh!

No amount of money in the world could fix that kind of heartbreak.

I was really excited to hear him trying out at Knicks camp last year too. Basketball could've kept his mind off his personal demons.

Lebatard talked about him a year or so ago when he was being jettisoned by the Mavs. The gist of the talk was that Odom was slowly being abandoned by everything and everyone that he invested himself into...The Heat, Lakers, his wife...They all left and when coupled with the life he had growing up, it's natural that depression would be the end result. Is it surprising that he turned to drugs and that this happened?

Damn sad situation all around...
 
Do we know if it was "drugs", or was it just mixing that herbal remedy with alcohol? Herbal remedies can be very potent, and sometimes people don't realize that mixing them with other substances can be extremely dangerous.

Well damn.

Times like this I'm always reminded of how fortunate I am to have "no men" in my corner. Too often people exchange real friends (the ones who pull your coat tails and tell you when you're fucking up) with "yes men" who stoke the ego and agree with the dumb shit you might want to do to make you feel good and to keep their position in your camp. Between Odom's stable Lakers days and now, he has undoubtedly had people around him in a position to positively influence him and they've probably done everything but while simultaneously helping themselves to whatever money he had left. Now they're gone (probably left when his money dried up) and he floated around like a ship without a rudder until he hit a iceberg at this brothel.

A cautionary tale. A reminder that money has never and will never buy happiness and that you really have to be in tune with your soul so that you can handle the curve balls life will inevitably throw your way. And if you can't handle them, hopefully you'll have friends and family that can help catch you when you fall and lift you back up into a place of normalcy.

Sounds like all of that are lessons that will have come too late for Mr. Odom, who's last conscious thoughts were probably of loneliness and despair. My thoughts are with his children.
 
This is extremely sad. I hope he makes it through this and manages to turn his life around, but it looks really bad.

Yeah, when he was with the Lakers Kobe and Phil Jackson helped him a lot but obviously they couldn't do that to the same extent after he left the team.

He could also have been so far down the addiction road, that nothing would've shocked his system.

When you hear unconscious in a brothel, you tend to think, drunk off his ass. Not massive organ failure about to die unconscious. We tend to think of that as seriously comatose.

Err...only less? I'm not sure what's funny about it at all. The "unconscious" part is almost never good when used in that manner and there really shouldn't be anything funny about a guy that, at best, is apparently doing very badly.

Hope he pulls through though it looks unlikely. I remember him being on the Heat for that year, he was a bit of a joke, but there were hopes.

Still, man his like seems just awful, two friends ODing within a week, losing a child to SIDS in 2006. Pretty harsh.

it was a very tightknit community that would shit on each other and shit on newcomers in equal parts. but then someone new got all butthurt because they couldn't handle it and ran to evilore, who didn't know about the community's dynamic and acting willfully on his ignorance in basically shut it down.

Again, that's not to say that community wasn't occasionally hostile but it was the equivalent of giving someone shit at the local park's BB court. It was all fun and games. regardless, they've migrated to another site because of the fallout.

Lamar Odom Went Off the Rails Over 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'

Lamar Odom lost it Sunday ... and the trigger was an episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

Sources at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South tell us, Lamar seemed normal during his stay until he got a call from someone about the show. Some of the women who were around Lamar say he became irate, complaining about the way he had just been portrayed on the show.

As for what was on the show ... Khloe got 2 calls from Lamar. When she got off the phone Kim criticized Khloe for being flirty with Lamar. In another clip, Lamar called Khloe to tell her that his good friend Jamie had died. When she got off the phone she worried Lamar might spin out of control. And in another scene Khloe fled a club after she heard Lamar was trying to get in.

We're told Lamar remained upset until he was found unconscious.

Up until getting the call, people at the Ranch say Lamar was "chill." There was no evidence he had been high on drugs or alcohol. We're told when he arrived Saturday, he ordered a single bottle of cognac and when he was found unconscious a third of the bottle was left.

As we reported, people at the Ranch say Lamar had been using an herbal substitute for Viagra. Someone at the Ranch who was around Lamar tells us he was popping 8 to 10 herbal Viagras at a time. There are perils to the drug -- it can cause dangerously low blood pressure and it can restrict blood flow to vital organs.

Another source at the ranch says Lamar was taking the actual Viagra drug from a prescription bottle.

I just don't get it, if the Kardashians knew he was depressed and in a bad place, why would they even allow anything regarding Lamar to be put on the show? I seriously doubt any of them even cared enough about him to think through that. I really despise that family.

They used to do the same thing with Rob. Poor guy was depressed, and they repeatedly put the spotlight on him in the show. Leave him the f off of the TV show when he going through shit in his life.

Since when have the Kardashians shown a modicum of respect to anyone? If it keeps the money flowing, they'll sure as shit make sure people see it.

I watched it for awhile and I really believe Chloe loved him. They seemed genuinely happy together until the Lakers let go of him. That's when he seemed to downward spiral. When he got back into drugs Chloe made the decision to leave. No doubt the family overall does some scummy shit but I don't think she is to blame for any of this. She just couldn't deal with his demons any longer which drove him deeper into depression.
 
I don't mean to kick the man whilst he's down, but he has been stalking Khloe for quite a while, particularly the 6AM incident outside the gym......

All throughout this season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians...he randomly kept calling Khloe and verbally harassing her. He also kept denying her request for a divorce and stating that Khloe "will always be" his wife. He is disturbingly obsessed with her.

And with all due respect, Khloe doesn't owe him anything. This is the same man who cheated on her with multiple woman throughout their marriage, and then made a drug-fuelled "rap video" with his buddy (who died of a drug overdose earlier this year) boasting about it.
 
damn, i didn't know lamar lost 2 of his best friends recently. weren't jaime and bobby on the kardashian show regularly?
