Curious. I know Neogaf users get stereotyped as the type of people who would wear one but I'm curious as to how many of you actually rock one IRL. Only time I've ever seen someone wear one was in this comp sci class I took back when i was sophomore in college. Dude legit looked exactly like notch...

During the winter, yes I do. My girlfriend really enjoys seeing me with it on, so that's an extra incentive to wear it for me.
 
they're awful on absolutely everyone and should not be worn at all.
my cousin put his kids in them for a family photoshoot and it just ruins everything

Nope, and I cringe whenever I see them in public looking like stereotypical cool guy neckbeards, or like the bad guy in Grandmas Boy.
 
No but I'd wear one if I had one. Not enough interested in them to get one though.

The fedora meme is stupid. Fortunately it's not a thing here.
 
I knew acouple people who wore fedoras when I was in high school like... 10 years ago. One girl who wore it very very well... She was fucking rad.
 
I saw my first fedora-wearer in the wild the other day, complete with long blue hair.

I almost stopped and stared.
 
I don't know that I've seen one in person. One of my friends said he wore one in high school to try to stand out, but doesn't fit any of the stereotypes associated with them.
 
No, but I don't look down on people who do. Anytime people talk about other fashion choices or tattoos the response is that it's not for other people or something along those lines. We can debate how much truth is in that statement but I think it's the same principle.

I tried one on at a store one time as a joke (actually it was probably a trilby, but at this point they're the same). I saw my reflection and wanted to beat the shit out of myself.

I liked wearing cargo pants back in 2002-2003, had no jeans at all in my closet.

Did reddit atheists ruin those too? Motherfuckers.
 
I like how there's always people in these threads who preemptively leap to the defense of trilbies. You are probably a fedora.

I wonder what ever happened to the king fedora I used to see my old school. He wore a suit (with fedora) and walked with a cane and all the baby cargo short fedoras followed him around like he was a king or something.
 
I once wore a Trilby/Fedora hat to a ballroom dance formal and got a lot of compliments on it. Ended up giving it away at the end of the night too :D

But no, I would dare not wear one outside of a formal event.
