Do any of you actually wear a fedora?

Which of these socially questionable clothing items do you use?

I'm mostly bald but my ginormous head makes baseball caps look comically small. I wish I could wear a fedora, but the backlash makes me hesitate. I blame society for my bald sunburns.

Oh Jesus, not the top of the page. What fresh hell is this?

Really? I've never found the excess of pockets to be in any way comfortable to wear. But then again I've met people who think skinny jeans are uncomfortable, yet I could sleep in some of mine. Different strokes, I guess.

Yea, we're just different... I don't find the feeling of wearing skinny jeans to be anything but unbearable.

lol

I have seem one guy pull it off in person.

It was raining and I was walking to catch a train. I pass a bus stop and see this black dude, who looked around 60, smoking a cigarette with the collar of his long trenchcoat popped up and a fedora. The street lamps were on, so that just accentuated how badass he looked. Like some noir detective.

Only when I really need to get laid. It gives me that unfair edge that pushes me past the rest of the competition at the Barnes and Nobles.

Same, but I still wear a baseball cap because cancer is real shit and nobody else cares what you look like.

Why does he wear the mask!?
No.

Never in million years. Wouldn't even if they were in fashion, just wouldn't suit me.

I feel like looking good (or well dressed at least) is an important part of feeling comfortable. Or at least it's an important part of me feeling comfortable. So I'd never wear sweatpants outside of my home, even though they are "comfortable" (and even then I'd recently bought better fitting sweatpants so I would look better in them). I'd also never wear cargo pants.

How did that meme get associated with atheism?

Legit, unironic pictures of guys wearing fedoras innapropiately accompanied by text where they're gloating about how much better they are than anybody else because they're atheists.

The juxtaposition of these ugly looking crimes against fashion with the text about how "enlightened" they are was incredibly funny (this is also how the word euphoria got thrown in), it's super cringy and people stuck it to the fedora stereotype.

Is there a "patient zero" behind all this fedora euphoria m'lady crap?

This is it, as far as i understand.

I used to wear a trilby fairly regularly, but then I happened upon the first backlash thread on GAF. Now I can't wear one without feeling like I'm secretly being mocked, which does fucking wonders for someone with social anxiety disorder.

They did you a favor, don't complain too much.

Not bald but I wear a XXL motorcycle helmet (everyone I know wears small / med). I know the pain of having a giant cranium my friend.

I own both a fedora and a trilby and I wear them pretty often. then again I'm bald and my head shape is decent enough. plus I only wear the trilby in summer and the fedora in winter. I get the whole meme about them that the internet had whipped up but I'm a mature enough guy in his late 30s, I don't really care about all that crap as long as I'm comfortable. I don't own any cargo pants but I think they're fine also. come at me fashion GAF.

The worst thing about this picture isn't the corny-ass quote, or the fedora, or even the Sonic shirt. No, it's the horrible use of punctuation. If you're going to try to sound intelligent, at least learn how to properly format your sentences.

Well, that's assuming that is a serious picture. For all I know, it could just be intentional irony, but I feel like that would be giving whoever made that picture too much credit.

This fedora stuff is classic internet meme culture.

It has no basis on reality as I've never seen anyone wear one IRL.

Hats are pretty much dead as a fashion accessory.

Nah, newsboy caps can look super good. Both my father and one of my good friends make them work really well

For you.
I don't think I ever saw a person in real-life that a stereotypical fedora. Only guys I ever saw using one were "surfer" types and they usually pull it off just fine.

I saw a fedora for the first time the other day. It was kind of weird. I guess it looked ok? I don't know. Dude wore well fitting kind of formal clothes too, which i guess makes it work.

I don't like them. Hats feel weird.

I think that the time the person whom is quoted here was a kid on r/atheism. I think it was one of the last threads I've read on that subreddit lol. It was hilarious.

I live in a beach town in CA and I have never understood the Internet's hate for the fedora. I mean, around here, people in fedoras look like this:

Just awful... what?
Hot girls wearing hats proves nothing. You see a shit load of girls wearing the stupid ass bear Bryant hat at Alabama games and they still look good (if they look good).

I can't help it but be a douche about this kind of stuff.

Just don't let your douchebaggery go overboard and I realize that maybe, just maybe, people that wear the same kind of hat aren't the same individual and that fedora haters can be just or even more terrible than the people they claim to criticize... on account of a fucking piece of headwear.

I have worn one before, but I don't "wear a fedora" with any regularity. It was in a jazz band, and we were all in suits and hats and it wasn't our idea, but whatever.

And yes, I know it was technically a trilby, but whatever.

It is a shitty looking hat and all, but man is the meme tired at this point. Now people just say "fedora" anytime they don't like a person. It's such a non-descript insult.

I actually love cargo pants. I have a few pairs of black women's fatigues that I wear for work, and they're the comfiest pants I own. They're also great for whenever I'm working on cosplay since I can keep most of my tools in the pockets.

On the other hand, I not only hate the way skinny jeans and leggings feel, but I also think they look fugly as hell on anyone who doesn't have thick, muscular legs.

On topic, fedoras look silly most of the time, but girls can sometimes pull them off. Unfortunately I don't think I can.

These are cargo pants, whats the issue here?

Hating any pants with more than 2 front and 2 back pockets is literally a "i know nothing about clothing" calling card.
LOL These are good looking pants to you guys? This kid looks like a total clown with his little sister's pants, no socks and Ronald McDonald shoes. He can't even sit up straight or fully bend his knees in this picture.
