I hate to be that guy...but this still felt like a teaser. It felt waaaaay restrained but to be honest...trailers are marketing and this film doesn't need it, so the less shown the better.

Theory I have:

So I think the New Republic and the Jedi exist, but the Imperial remnants have shut the border to their systems effectively so information is limited so most info about the force and such is the stuff of legend. I think this movie is to set up resistance against the Empire, while the next two enlist the help of the Republic and train the three as Jedi.
