How does Don Cherry usually vote?
Do you even have to ask? lol

You're being way too dramatic. You don't win every election with the side you vote for. Just like life, you can't win them all, you just come back and try again next time.
Believing in the NDP is like believing in Bernie Sanders. But at least with Sanders, you only get jerked around for a year before being disappointed. I feel like I've wasted a decade of my life.

Harper scorched too much earth among urban and suburban "New Stock" Canadians.

Jason Kenny's work in 2011 was burnt to the ground with Harper's choice in 2015 of going big with Identity Politics.

Identity politics did not help Pauline Marois win and it did not help Stephen Harper win.

Harper was a total dumb ass thinking that Pauline Marois's loser strategy could be a winner Federally.
Yeah, ultimately a new leader will just do the John Tory thing of being completely moderate and milquetoast so that when people inevitably get tired of the Liberals, the CPC wins by default.

You'd think NDP supporters would be used to losing.

Don't kick them while they're down lol

Yo, shit my riding (Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke) seems to have swung to the Liberals too

I should have stuck to voting for the Greens instead of trying to bolster NDP votes!

Oh man, same can be said for the NDP. Their centrist campaign didn't work in Ontario, but we heard Mulcair use the exact same failing words as the Ontario NDP used throughout the campaign. Not sure what those NDP strategists are thinking.

but the difference is that Harper has damaged the Conservative brand among ethnic minorities that will leave them a bad taste for a generation

it is the type of damage that lasts a long time and I mean a long time.

Omg same riding. This is weird.

My official address is still there, but I live in Vancouver downtown now. I made sure I went to my closest Elections Canada office and voted for LIB in advance.

Get that CON out of there !!!

Unionville has a ton of new condos, and so you would expect more support for pro-urban policies. There is a transit right of way that was just built!

I guess not.

Then again, maybe the attitude is that they got the infrastructure they asked for, and so why change?

I don't know anyone who live here want those transit (it's practically empty everytime i see a bus)

Why do people keep asking if Charest will run for the conservative party? He has nothing in common with Harper or that party. Charest was part of Mulroney's Progressive-Conservative party, which pretty much only have the name in common with our current Conservative party, which is a rebranded Alliance/Reform party.

Charest does not care for Harper or his party. If he ever runs for the federal elections, it will be for the LPC.
I agree with you but the if the Conservatives want to abandon the radical fringes of their party that so jaded the rest of the nation against Harper's principles, embracing the heritage of the PC wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't think they will. I think their problems have festered far too deep. But, as a progressive, I would love to see it. I can't vote for that party so long as the stench of Harper's intolerance permeates throughout it. Even if he himself is gone.

Jean Charest doesn't stand for anything, except being a federalist.
so yeah, he fits perfectly with the Liberals
What a great response!

holy shit Cloverdale-Langley is red too, was 55% CPC in 2011

heck DELTA IS GOING RED

DELTA

also from 55% CPC

Richmond going from 1 district with 58% CPC to 2 districts with both Liberals as MP's

this is madness

BTW, everyone who takes the "Shy Tory" concept as a given, please remember tonight the next time you think of talking about it.

Yeah, ultimately a new leader will just do the John Tory thing of being completely moderate and milquetoast so that when people inevitably get tired of the Liberals, the CPC wins by default.
A story of Conservative comebacks and you choose John Tory as your example? Joke, right?

Not as amazing as LIB being 1000 votes away from defeating CON in SOUTH SURREY - WHITE ROCK ! WTF is going on ?

Bill Blair being interviewed on CTV right now, talking about the government immediately moving to legalize marijuana as a science-based way to protect children and fight organized crime.

And Joe Oliver is confirmed defeated.

So far my thoughts going into advance voting worked! Cons have won for a good long while and everyone said vote NDP to get cons out. Bet on a surge by Liberals and so far it's coming true.

I understand why NDP supporters are so upset. This was their chance to finally break through, and Mulcair completely blew it with a terrible strategy and a lousy campaign. If I were in that position, I'd be devastated too.

I'm disappointed but not at all devastated or upset, and I don't think any NDP supporters should be unless they were actively part of the campaign.

The NDP wouldn't be the first party to come back from 35 seats. ;)

nono, Richmond Centre going Liberal is pretty fucking amazing. But yes White Rock?! Cloverdale?!

there's a LOT of very very conservative people living there. Harper fucked the CPC over big time, that's incredible

Canada can finally be progressive again
