Yeah but I think that translates to Democrat for them.

I think it goes like this (left to right):

NDP
Liberal
Democrat
Conservative

Republican

More like this

Left ---------Centre-------------------Right
Green---NDP---LIBERAL-------------Democrat----Conservative-Republican

American's are so far right wing that even the Democrats are to Canada and the rest of the world. Politics in that country need to change because you really have no choice for the other side.

Didn't expect a majority, WTH happened to NDP?

Trudeau ain't no Trudeau, times are also different as well.

CPC needed a backup plan to Harper - voters tend to get tired of politicians after so many years in power.

And now the moment everyone has been waiting for: the cover of the Sun newspapers!

Yes, he does. Gordon Brown is widely perceived to be one of the worst prime ministers of all time according to experts and popular opinions.

Also, Churchill and Thatcher, two of the greatest according to the same sources, were Tories.
Gordon Brown is like our Paul Martin

good Finance Ministers but not Prime Ministerial

So what did this guy say about the TPP? Or is he a typical corporate ballwasher like all US politicians no matter what they say as candidates.

Lot of people in this thread think the Liberals are more left-wing than they really are.
Liberals were not my ideal choice but I'd rather have them then Harper that's for damn sure. I'm hopeful that the dissenting voices will push Trudeau further left, making him re-examine things like the TPP and Bill c51

Well hopefully Canada legalizing weed will speed up the US legalizing it on the east coast since we are going to be losing out on a ton of tax money on the boarder states. However my next fishing trip to Canada is going to be amazing.

I don't know, he doesn't seem like the right person.
NDP probably would have been a lot better.
I feel like everyone voted for Justin
a) they didn't want harper
b) legalization of marijuana
c) just followed other people's opinions.
Maybe try being a bit more optimistic. I voted liberal for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was Justin's character - he's a smart person who seems to legitimately care about all Canadians, who's also very fact and science minded.

When it comes to platform positions, take a look at their website - there doesn't seem to be anything particularly negative from what I've read

This guy almost unified Québec as Liberals. Now that's a feat.

I'm curious why the middle of the province is still strongly conservative compared to other regions. It can't be just "radio poubelle" as gutter keep trying to tell us. We even managed 2 liberal ridings in Quebec city.

Quebec is just a rainbow of parties.

We just hired this guy to look over our country..

I love how these pics of Justin have been used to discredit him in someway by the right (not at all implying you are btw).
It's always amusing to me how in some political circles they feel acting human or having a sence of humour is a bad thing. Truth is nobody wants an unrelatable robot as their Leader.

Experts don't really share your thoughts on Chretien, Trudeau, not even Harper...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Canadian_prime_ministers

Those are MacLean's rankings, so obviously biased to Liberals.

We will have to wait and see how good time will be to Harper. As for most leaders, there is good (yes, there is), bad and ugly. It's foolish to argue otherwise.

It's kind of funny you linked to the Maclean's rankings yourself, appealing to their "expert" opinion, and next post you're criticizing them for being biased.

I'm not sure I understand. I see a guy having fun. Is having a PM who likes to have fun a problem? You'd rather have emotionless robot Harper or creepy smile angry Tom?

The problem is that he just gave himself up to the imperial troops. He didn't fight. He is not a real jedi.

Oh hey he got a majority too, that's surprising.

Go fuck yourself Harper you piece of shit. You will not be missed.

Congrats Canada on getting rid of Harper, he seemed like a real piece of shit.
