Anti-intellectualism and trying to bully people into yes-no responses so they're "easier to understand" is the greatest plague on the country currently. These are supposed to be smart people and they barely understand the english language.

His "this is a yes or no question" crap is like something you would expect from a bad debate on the internet.

He's cross-examining Hillary Clinton as if she were a witness in a trial, where the standard tactic to only ask questions where a witness can respond yes/no, except this Congressional hearing doesn't have the strict rules applied to cross-examination where a witness asked a yes/no question must, in fact, answer yes/no.

The tactic is make him appear like a no-nonsense straight shooter, and have Hillary give longer answers to appear like she's dodging a "simple" question. Content doesn't matter.

Pompeo' seems more nervous that Hilldawg. Dude is mumbling and speeding through his sentences like a virgin asking out a supermodel.

His yes or no questions are pathetic. Did he really think she would go down this list of questions without ever elaborating?

Think about this:the Republicans on this committee are not any old members, they are a group of all stars handpicked for this job. Seriously

"My impression is you don't want Secretaries of State making their own decisions but instead want them to be completely deferential to particular experts who do not have the authority/responsibility to make the ultimate decisions?"

"Yes, exactly, leaders lead".

"Isn't that the opposite of what I just described?"

I understand why he's doing it, but boy is it annoying for those that don't fall for the tactic.

Duckworth is by far the best person on this committee of both sides

Of course not, its a tactic to make a witness seem dishonest.

Screw Duckworth and her important questions about federal contracts that can jeapordize our national security. Did Sid Blumenthal kill Benghazi or not???

Why are they not questioning the people Clinton delegated the security matters to?

She said she had security professionals handle embassy security issues.

So, why are they not questioning them? Are they not the ones who actually failed here?

Have they ever been questioned?

I agree with her politically, but this lobbing Clinton prime time debate questions is just as much non-sense and timewastery as Gowdy's grotesque bullying.

Probably. But I'm willing to bet that the people throwing her prime time debate questions would be perfectly happy to stop wasting everyone's time and not have the hearing altogether.
