Halo 5 Multiplayer Coverage! (no campaign spoilers)

Can someone check out two things for me?

- Is the "activation cost" on Thrusters a percentage or a value? I'm assuming we can use it to assign a certain number of thrusts per charge, rather than just 1 / none / unchanged / never.

- If you set the duration and gravity of stabilizers extremely low, can it function as a double jump?

Arn't people like Snipedown going to get sick of hearing 'puurfect' all the time? Like for me it's going to be satisfying but for the higher ups, its going to be heard a lot surely.

You can turn off Spartan chatter... Can the medal voice-overs be turned off also?

How could you get sick of hearing him say that...its perfect

Was the killcam completely removed or is it an optional thing now? yet to see anything like it which is good but sometimes it's nice to find out how you died to a bullshit shot :P

Have we seen any of the "Legendary" variations of weapons yet? I know 343 was talking about them a while ago but I feel like they haven't shown anything.

Why did people hate it exactly?

I was indifferent about it but the way I heard people explain it: it gave too much info. In previous Halos you had to call out where you saw people and feed info to your team, rather than just straight up have your camera stick to them after dying. It also went with the "it's too much like CoD!" sentiment.

Honestly though, it does give out too much information and after a while, in COD at least for me, i dont even watch it anymore. Im just consistently pressing the button to spawn repeatedly which skips it anyway. I dunno if anyone even uses it anymore after a while.

Why did people hate it exactly?

In every halo game when you are killed you can look around where you died and see (if possible) where the killer is moving to next, with a killcam you lose all that info and instead get the view of the killer looking at you, and by the time you skipped the killcam in the beta you had no idea where the dude ran off too.

If halo had killcams from day one it would have been different but the game especially in a competative match relies on seeing where people went when you are taken out.

In the beta the killcams would sometimes begin exactly when you were killed instead of a few seconds before, as a UK player there was even times where the killcam started after I died so it was like spectating from the killers eyes which was silly.

Killcam was almost universally hated. It's been removed.

Mother of god are you serious!? Ok ill def be picking this up! Ugh, that means i need to buy another XBO for the GF b/c shes going to want to play. (Just set up a game room in our new home, in-wall 100" desk side by side 24" BenQ gaming monitors with his/her PS4s.. and soon to be XBO's i guess... my wallet bleeds.)

Kill cam actually takes away too much info. With the exception of SWAT and the times you are sniped, it's usually obvious how you died (especially now with the improved killfeed). In Halo, it's more crucial to know where an enemy is going, and whether or not they've picked up something that you dropped. You can't call out what they did in the past, because they're probably not there anymore.

Unless it's Hemorrhage in Reach. Ya'll know exactly who i'm talking about.

The lack of kill cam is the thing that makes you buy Halo 5? I mean more power to you, but that's pretty funny.

This is so important. "I'm dead on left high red base... XYZ-bro at my 'X' took sniper 2 rounds left!" Callouts like this help so much!!

Does anyone know if the Flag in Halo 5 CTF puts a waypoint over your head?

That was one of the more infuriating changes in Halo 4 CTF

Even for good players, getting a PERFECT is gonna be tough unless you're playing people who can't strafe.

It doesn't unless the other team manages to get a hit on you then there's a temporary waypoint.

It's kinda like tagging.

Edit: Welp, beaten by the main man himself.

How strong is the Pistol? From the tactics video, they were making it sound like it is better and stronger than the BR and DMR. If that is so, where does that leave those two guns? Is the Pistol going to be the OP gun?

It isn't necessarily stronger than those guns, unless you're very close. It's simply powerful enough in competent hands to fend off or even defeat those with a BR or DMR at range.

Pistol takes 5 shots for a perfect kill.
BR takes 4 shots for a perfect kill.

at range the BR and DMR would be easier to get kills with. But a skilled pistol user has a fighting chance against people with rifles.

At close, the pistol is probably the better option...

I couldn't ask for better balancing.

There are also other things that come into play as well, namely rate of fire and clip size.

I feel like it has potential to be close if you're good, but it looks more difficult to wield than the BR based on what I've seen. And the DMR should have more range...not sure how much that affects arena though.

This!!! It's getting frustrating seeing in twitch streams people begging for Br starts when you have an amazingly capable pistol in hand.

Man, the more and more i watch of this the sadder i am that all of my Playstation only FPS buddies will not get to experience this!

I wonder how much bigger Halo 5 would have been if it was multi platform... think it would knock down Black Ops3? Get close?

I know it will NEVER happen... but I'd love a multiplat Halo one day.

Back to the point. Anybody watching the streams think the hit detection, even while watching a stream, looks spot on!?

Halo is one of best reasons to get an xbox One this holiday as compared to the ps4. Take that away and its pretty much dead.

Yeah at this point the argument should be dead...

I've been watching pro's play all morning and FINALLY, I can say that every weapon has a purpose in this franchise... I truly enjoyed seeing the variety of encounters, as folks actually had a reason to switch out there weapons... I had grown so sick and tired of the BR only matches...

The people whining for BR starts must be not be seeing the damage people are capable of with skilled use of the pistol. Which is strange because it's the most used weapon.

A little q/a regarding custom settings for movement - we now know you can set the forward/strafe acceleration, but can you also set the deceleration?

Coz at 300% movement speed it becomes an ice-skating fest, which a deceleration setting could easily resolve

If someone with a copy could check it out that'd be awesome... already thinking of new game modes like quake and vanquish and cant froggin wait!
