so how man here are buying the season pass at launch? I think im holding off until i start seeing the dlc

Holding off, but I fully expect to buy it.

I think Bethesda generally make DLC that's worth the price, obvs if you enjoy the main game. Would be interesting to see them be a bit more adventurous ala Mothership Zeta in terms of setting etc.

Fallout 3 was fine? I am all for people coming in and expressing their own dislike of aspects of a game, but just randomly coming in and posting ""Game" has gone shit is more like it" adds nothing to discussion and only comes off as a drive by troll attempt.

Fiasco that was Fallout 3... lol that guy and I seriously don't agree ;)

lol I was this close in making the classic dank ass meme joke.

But i'll hold off. Yeah I'm waiting on it to see if it's good but I expect the DLC to be good.

I've already prepared, the GF's gonna finish with me, the kids are gonna hate me, I'm failing Uni and getting sacked from my job.

I'm fully prepared.

As someone who got Fallout 3 on 360 I don't recall any fiasco, other than the game blowing my mind and everyone else's on consoles.

I preordered 4 from Amazon and it's my first time doing that. I know they don't charge you right away (as I ordered it like 2 months ago) but I wondered if anyone could tell me how close to release they do charge? Not until it ships, a day before, a week?

I really didn't encounter any, nothing as game breaking as Oblivion's at least.
Oh I've encountered nasty ones in Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim. But I've always soldiered on and spent hundreds and hundreds of hours in each game.
Can not wait. I even booked holiday off work to play the game! (I had some left over and if I don't use it I lose it).

Not until it ships.

Not until it ships like Heights said. For reference though, on when it ships, my Metal Gear order didn't ship/charge until the day before the game came out. Just have the money ready on the Friday/Saturday before release and everything should go well :)

Fallout 3 launched really well. Sure, it had bugs - but generally it was very well recieved. People joke at Bethesda and Skyrim, but that was a similar situation.

Even if Fallout 4 launches as their most polished title to date, all it's going to take is one bad bug for "See! We told you so!"

Never mind the fact how some Witcher 3 quests were broken for some people for weeks / months before getting fixed.

Not until it ships, but, sometimes after they charge you it will go to preparing for shipment status and stay there for a day or two. So you shouldn't be surprised if they charge you around the 6th or 7th if you have 2 day shipping. If you have standard shipping they may even start shipping those out sooner so I wouldn't be surprised if some peeps were charged the 5th or 6th.

I just hope a mod comes out for carry weight quickly :-P

Playing new Vegas at the mo and being able to carry a ton of stuff is so handy.

Can't wait for this game :-D

Probably not, that first time exploring after leaving the vault in Fallout 3 was the most amazing part of the game.
If that didn't grab you, nothing will.

Yeah I didn't like Fallout 3. Never played the other titles. I dislike overly long games. I dislike open world games.

I just bought this on Steam anyways. :)

It's a stunningly bad bit of UI design and I can't believe someone actually laments that removal in FO4. However there were people that saw four dialog options mapped to four face buttons and assumed THAT was the extent of choice in the game. As if submenus or actual branching conversations aren't a thing.

No I saw dialogue mapped to 4 buttons and with each one always being a negative response, positive response, neutral response, and a Solid Snake response (question the subject). All of them also being a short little line but a widely different line once the character speaks. It breaks the imagination that I've always had with my characters in the Fallout games.

I've never felt DA or ME had the same level of responses that New Vegas had or even Fallout 3. But it was fine in those since you are specifically catered to be a jesus type even you're a dick or nice. Even in games like The Witcher, you are playing as Geralt so him saying something you don't want him to say is okay for me because it's not me running around the world, it's Geralt.

Game is likely to score an 88-92. If I had to guess the meta I'd go with 90.

It's not going to matter to me though. New Vegas was one of my fav games ever while it sits at what, 84? I mean that's still a good score but to me the game is easily a 100.

Ok, New Vegas is a 98 for me. It misses two points for being so damned buggy that at least on PS3 I couldn't even finish it. Despite that, otherwise the game was so perfect to me I'm way willing to overlook that to only take away 2 points for that. It is definitely my favorite game of all time. Oh, and while I think it is way better than 3, I loved 3 and New Vegas would never have been the game I loved without stuff Bethesda brought to Fallout. So I think people need to consider that before shitting too much on 3. 3 has flaws. But it is more than the sum of its parts as some one else said in another thread. Overall despite its flaws it still is a fun game and worth playing and that is the most important part.

I loved New Vegas. I so hope Bethesda Softworks wants another money grab cause Fallout 4 did so well that they give another Fallout to Obsidian to make (cause, let's face it. New Vegas was an excellent game but I'm pretty sure the only reason Bethesda gave it to Obsidian was 3 did so well they decided they needed to put out another Fallout really quickly just to grab money that was on the table. Even with the reduced time Obsidian was given, look at what they put out. I'll take another money grab Fallout made by them any day. Though it would be nice if they actually gave Obsidian proper time to make the game this time).

This. I love The Witcher and CDPR and while they delivered an otherwise amazing game and series, I couldn't play TW3 for over two weeks because I had a completely broken quest preventing me from completing the main plot. I've had the good fortune where I've never had an experience like that before with a game, even a Bethesda game. So that was a really frustrating experience for me.

Bethesda games might not run as well, look as nice as the rest, might have weird glitches and oddities happen all the time, but I never once experienced a moment from Morrowind through to Skyrim where I couldn't play the game or complete it because of whatever issue it had. Maybe the game would crash, or a quest wouldn't trigger as it should, but I was always able to continue on despite it all. At least on PC.

Gonna get this on PS4 I think,I've got a 4790k, and 16gigs of ram, but only a HD7970 until I upgrade next year so I think consoles the best option for me to start.

I only give New Vegas a slight edge to Fallout 3 for me. Maybe a 98.

I would love another Fallout game in 2-3 years. Would be great. As long as it's not an MMO. An MMO won't be likely as ESO wasn't as well received as Bethesda would have liked I'm sure. I really don't care who makes it as long as we get another Fallout RPG between November 10th 2015 and November 10th 2022.

I mean more power to you but I just don't see how you would enjoy this game then. This is like the most open world and long game you could play.

Sex or Fallout?

aGmWSUV.gif

In simple terms, Fallout without a question. I need it now!

But I wouldn't play this game on an anniversary. My girl would be more important than a game.

My comment was no more lazy than the zillions of classic "whoopie! I"m getting this shit get on the hype train!" drive-by shit posts and yet no one has a problem with those.

Fallout 3 was far from fine but I think it's problems have been explained more times than I can count so I'm not going to bother with it yet again.

You'd think you would be in a happier mood now that AoD has come out after 20 years.

Has Mod support been officially been announced for PS4?

I am debating this person who keeps posting articles from June saying no but the official Bethesda site says coming to PS4 from September. He won't consider my articles official until Sony state publicly they are allowing it.

I don't want to dig myself too deep into a hole. Is there a tweet from Sony or Todd Howard I am missing?

Help me Gaf you are my only hope!

When your opponent sticks their finger in their ears and has nothing to say but "nuh uh", you have won the argument.

It is just dawning on me that he is trolling. Can't believe I fell for that. Need to get my radar fixed.

I said my articles said PS4 are getting mods debunking his ones from June.

He replies
Oh yeah, how? Nothing you or others have linked was Sony consent to allow Fallout 4 mods on their console. Absolutely nothing. Point it out, if you would be so kind to show the invisible writing on the wall.

It’s going to come out on PC first, then they’ll move to Xbox One, then to PS4. There is a lot of work involved getting them onto each system.”
Todd Howard

I'm not sure how much clearer it can get than that. Pete Hines on Twitter has also replied to people saying the PS4 mods will come but sorry I don't have any links to that.
