So guys, 750ti/2500k or Xbone?

You could probably get away with the CPU, but the GPU is pretty much the bare minimum required. Given Bethesda's track record with performance optimization, I'd probably say XB1.

Or drop $160 on a GTX960 because

do we know if the pc version will support controllers? like with the same UI as on consoles?

According to the Fallout 4 F.A.Q on the Bethesda's site:

Does Fallout 4 have gamepad support on PC?

Fallout 4 has plug & play compatibility with both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers. Alternate controller options may require additional user adjustments

I actually think I might play this with a controller, I really appreciate the analog movement speed as opposed to two hard speeds, especially as a sneak character

I wonder if the game will make use of the PS4 touchpad at all. If they were smart, they'd at least let you use it as a second favorites wheel (similar to the Owl commands wheel in KZ Shadow Fall)
I'd love for the touchpad to act as a full-on touchscreen interface for the Pip-Boy: scrolling though menus and selecting things. I've no idea if it's sensitive enough to do that though.

Is it known if it includes any extras, like a good manual ( sigh) or a map or whatever?
Nothing known yet. I'm not getting my hopes up either. They've never included a map with Fallout before and hardly any games have a real manual anymore. Skyrim just had a little brochure I think.

God I hope not, console/pad centric UI with KB+M.... *shivers*

Let's be honest, Bethesda's control support for kb/mouse has steadily devolved with every new game they've released in favor of a gamepad, in addition to the game's UI. The only thing that's saved them over time have been the mod community. Skyrim's default PC interface, which was just the console interface, was shameful to use with a mouse/kb.

Have review copies been sent out? When's the review embargo?

I'm really curious.

I've pre-ordered my pip-boy edition, but I'm running out of cash. I'm in doubt, digital is cheap and easy, but I'm missing out on a very cool gadget (I'll use once...).

I could sell it at a high price...But it kind of feels wrong.

I can't image they're too afraid of reviews possibly spoiling the party as it won't matter. People WILL buy this game as long as it's a 70+.

I haven't heard anything about review embargos. What's the latest game released by Bethesda either in-house or by publiishing deals? What was the review embargo on those, might be a good indicator

The review copies are going out now. The NDA date is over Monday morning (9th).

trying to decide whether to keep my pc boxed best buy preorder for ~$51 (GCU) + $10 reward money + 10% cashback or go the preload route and get it for $47 on GMG... decisions, decisions

Am I the only one actually contemplating waiting for the GOTY edition in 2017 with all the bells and whistles?

People have different priorities. I mean Fallout is one of my favorite series period. There is no way I would wait an additional year or two to play this game. But if my interest was only moderate, then sure, why not wait for the version with all the DLCs?

I'll probably do this. Rent on console and then a year later buy everything during a Steam sale when I know my PC will be more than capable of running it maxed.

is 30 bucks to not have to wait until all of the planned DLC is released worth it? That's what it comes down to. I think that paying 30 bucks at some point down the line is worth not having to wait for all of the DLC to be released.

Played new Vegas yesterday and again remembered that fallout is dead to me. It's just not fun at my age! Argh.

Eh, I just put 50 hours into F3 again, but the last time I had fired it up I didn't last an hour before I was getting bored. It might be a matter of timing your gameplay right. Maybe the next time you have some days lined up with no work or responsibilities you can give it another shot.

I had the pleasure of knowing nothing about fallout 3 when i bought. I asked the seller what it was about and they said like call of duty lol. I think i put over 100 hours in to it in a short space of time. I am absolutely buzzing for 4. And i mean counting down the hours, continually refreshing this thread, watching my pipboy delivery status and have my warm clothes ready for the midnight standard copy

I just want to make sure the Steam controller's pedals work for VATs. It has to have gone Gold for those reasons too. They've had the last few years to ponder it and they seem to enjoy PC gaming.

Has this been posted yet?

We can confirm that #Fallout4 will have pre-loading on Xbox One, PS4, and PC so you have a few days to download the game before 11/10

It might have to do with your age, but just in terms of a change in your tastes. That or maybe you're too busy to be focused in a game like this. The exact opposite happened to me in the last few years. I'm 32 now. When I was in my 20s I loved playing games like shooters, Nintendo games like Mario and Zelda, etc. Don't touch any of them now. These days Bethesda RPGs are really the only kind of game that grabs me. I suppose that could change in a decade, sure, though I feel like if that does happen, I'll just be done with gaming altogether.

Question, mods will be "regular" for FO4 right? Not like the thing steam did with Skyrim earlier this year.

one assumes they are free, or "regular" as you say, but who knows. They might use FO4 to try and launch that thing again since they said they werent done with it

I don't have the quote but I think it was Todd Howard that said they aren't gonna be doing paid stuff with FO4.

There has been some mentions that they want center all FO4 mods/modding into Bethesda.net now that mods are going to consoles too. This puts them into prime position to try and reintroduce paid mods at some point during FO4's lifespan.

Hopefully them pushing Bethesda.net as primary source for FO4 mods doesn't affect 3rd party sites like NexusMods too much.

Good to see this passed through Bethesda's thorough QA process.

this keeps coming up, but I played Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim with no issue. Certainly no game breaking issue. Then again I never ran into those weird ass Assassins Creed bugs or other funny / nightmarish graphical bugs games have these days
