Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

With Recon I play more cautious and very classic Halo styled, but in default, I become more reckless and sprint more and do the new moves more.

On Recon I rarely feel the need to zoom in unless the target hard to see. I barely thrust, never slide, rarely spartan charge. And yet on default, it's almost second nature to sprint, to zoom in with ADS, stabilizer or even ground/pound etc. I've been playing the campaign on Recon though, and it's helping me get accustomed to it, but I don't know.

Played a couple of arena games. I wasn't a huge fan of the multiplayer in the beta but everything is clicking for me in the final product. Can't wait to dig into campaign tonight.

It's just like melee isn't it? If you get it from the back you die in one shot, from the front it takes two. I find it extremely hit or miss.

Yeh but the range is crazy. I've got all these noobs running around and making my life hell with it. Plus has anyone noticed the radar is a bit weak this time? Maybe it's just that I haven't played in a while. Other than that games extremely well polished

Recon's only drawback for me is GP being on B, you literally have to take your hand off the left stick while holding in B with your right to aim it. No clue how anyone thought that was acceptable. Be cool if they could change the left stick to the aim function of GP when using Recon.

^ Radar is nerfed, and it's glorious. Wish they'd nerf it even further.

Yeah they changed the radar so that it's distance is reduced. I'm happy with that change, some people rely on it way too much.

They reduced radar range to 18 meters, down from I think 30 meters in the beta. It's why enemies won't show up unless really close to you, even if you're shooting at them or looking at them, they're not on the motion tracker. Going to be interesting to see if it breaks the reliance on motion tracker that got more and more accurate with every release.

It's deliberate and forces you to think about up and down and the pause a player endures at the end of a sprint. Again there's a cleverer and more eloquent way to put it but I rumble hub rub the rhub hive

Bummer. Really used to like the radar. It's sort of pointless now

Hey guys, last night after completing 1/3 of the campaign (with no issues) my friends and I hopped into Warzone Assault. With our party of four the first two games went without a hitch, but then we switched to regular Warzone and the game loaded 25 players in the lobby and kicked my brother out of the game leaving him in outspread fireteam at the main menu attempting to join our game in progress (to no avail). Kind of deflated we lost one of our four, picked up another member of our Spartan Company and decided to try our hand at some good ol' slayer. This time, I never saw a loading screen, was dumped to the main menu and the lobby showed 9 players found for the match. For the remainder of their session I stay in the menu, still in the fireteam, with the message at the top of the screen that I was attempting to join a session in progress. I decided to go to bed at that point.

I know for a fact this isn't exclusively an issue that my brother and I are having because while watching EG.Snip3down play on twitch over the past couple of days I saw this same exact thing happen to a party member of his in a match made Arena game, where it (likely) caused his team to lose because their team picked up a random in place of their fourth fireteam member and it had also happened in Warezone to him as well. I don't see anything about this anywhere after a Google search and browsing through the Waypoint forums and it is disheartening to think it may not be getting openly complained about enough so it might not get the recognition it needs from 343i to get fixed.

Like I said, I'm not the only one seeing this happen, so why aren't people talking about it?

Thanks for your report, I'll pass this over to the team.

I HAVEN'T SLEPT SINCE FRIDAY EVERYTHING IS SO MELTY HIRE JUICES PRAISE THE SUN

I'd like increased range in radar so that I can avoid these grenades..they feel quite powerful in the smaller maps.
But yes I know the connundrum here that if the enemy is aware of my position from far away then they might use grenades even more accurately.

Absolutely despising the spartan charge. That thing must be nerfed. Plus doesn't the assualt rifle feel a bit stronger than the beta?

It's no stronger than any other melee... And fairly easy to dodge (especially with radar), and hangs the charger out to dry... Doesn't bother me...

Stinkles are we going to have any BR/DMR playlists or matches?

I don't want a radar change but I agree The Rig and Plaza are Grenade deathtraps so far.

I don't know how an increased range in radar would help with grenades but I do agree grenades are a problem. They need to be toned down or something.

For me it's a situation where they charge and I never see them coming on the radar. By the time they are on it they're already in my face lol

This is Probably a good thing for the skill gap. Folks have become overly reliant on it. And it allows me to get my sneaky on despite the overall increase in movement speed...

I am actually kinda shocked by how much I'm enjoying Warzone.

I thought it would be a fun novelty to cleanse the palette between Arena marathons, but I haven't even bothered to play Arena yet, I've been too immersed in Warzone, lol.

Also, having not played a Halo game for reals since Halo: Reach (on account of the MP in Halo 4 being garbage IMHO), I'm freaking terrible at this game at the moment. But still having a blast!

Why are you playing SWAT bro?
I didn't have a chance to play the MP beta so last night is my first taste of it and you know what I am actually liking how much faster moving it is.
Quick question. Do you guys feel like stick sensitivity is a little slow? It feels like it takes forever for me to turn.

I feel like there is some sort of acceleration here, not quite sure but at times it feels the camera moves too slow and at times it feels it's too fast...and the only times that has ever happened to me in a game is if it has acceleration.

Well, yes, that's the idea.

#DeathtoMotionTracker

Maybe if you're playing with a full team with headsets , but honestly with no one to cover my ass the motion tracker sort of gave me a rear view mirror. Never found it unfair, to be honest it was one of the things I loved about Halo

Haha, yeah, it's definitely going to take a while for people to get used to the change. Look how many just get terrified when they have to play no radar slayer pro or something.

Also, get some unisom or zzzquil to help you sleep. I'm picturing you like Al Pacino in Insomnia where he just can't fall asleep for several days.

Oh man, you don't get much warning, it's true, but that red dot is moving a lil faster and a lot more direct than all the others... If I see that in the corner of my eye, I instictively hit the thruster.

It was easier to dogde in the beta, but it's still not too bad. You'll get it.

I normally play these campaigns solo on Normal and then Heroic. And then Legendary in co op. Any advice for a diff setting for a first play?

Please, Frankie give us the option to remove the helmets from campaign or at least make them transparent. It is so obstructive and just frustrates me.

Tashi I'm old and I'll die soon anyway but you should legitimately go to bed.

If you're in the business of helping people hit the sack at a reasonable hour, how about letting us in on when we get to Req DMRs? Cause I'm pretty sure I'm going to be playing Warzone till I get one...

Got a 1TB Xbone and Halo 5 to pick up after work today - decent deal from Argos 299!!

Though I'm sure with downloads i'll be lucky to get any time with it tonight!

Looking forward to it!

My head is spinning. Didn't sleep well last night because of the excitement, and played non-stop for 9 hours today, only ate some quick food.
Gonna catch some sleep now. I have an exam on Friday so the last 3 missions have to wait till Saturday :(

Haha you said it, bigger radar range is just going to get you Naded more.

Heroic then legendary co-op and then normal to collect skulls and audio logs. Then heroic with skulls. The legendary with skulls.
