Wouldn't expect much from Gief, but I could see Sim playing a much larger role in the story.

Dictator is straight up AFRAID of Sim. He's one of the more powerful characters, canonically.

Zangief is comic-relief-tier at this point

The whole story is a mystery to me right now. No illuminati, no 3s characters, all these WW...like, what can they even do with that?

My guess is still the release of seasons and we will more or less get act 1, 2, maybe 3 of a bigger picture and they'll use those to also introduce the DLC characters.
 
I'm really hoping Dhalsim gets a redesign kind of like Ken. Not that hopeful though considering Zangief is same old same old.

What time are we expecting the announcement?

Yep, I was hoping on a clean-up of the ui too. Just seems like they didn't think it through much.

Hopefully game updates include changes to that kinda stuff tho

I feel like I already knew it was February. Since right around the time they announced the game. Did someone from Capcom say something or did I just read some speculation and mistakenly encode it as official word from Capcom?

It might be because I just hope I'm wrong, but I think in this game Zangief is being played less for comic relief. I'm getting the feeling of his old SF2 personality.

Anyway, does anyone actually expect a significant Dhalsimn redesign here, like visually? You think he'll have hair? Wear a suit? lol

I mean I've been saying it would be a February release since like July or something. It coincides with previous releases in the series (SF4) and made sense for how many reveals we were getting. No official word though, it was just pretty obvious.

The PSN store accidentally listed its release date as Feb 2nd pretty early on.
 
The story is basically Bison probably wants Nec's body since his is aging real fast like, and Nec's whole thing is absorbing souls of warriors. Which I doubt he'll do to the main cast, but I'm sure he'll be the final boss.

Of this season, anyway.

He's either going to be completely unchanged or radically different. I wouldn't count on hair or a suit, but maybe he'll be wearing Buddhist monk robes or have brighter/more body paint or what have you.

I hope they can bump up the frame rate of those stage characters. It looks really bad. The Kanzuki estate looks way worse because of it.

Maybe on PC? If so, I'll get that version, but maybe it's hard-coded that way for a reason.

Only on PC, if at all. The frame rate is likely to keep the rest of the game at 60. They did the same thing for Assist Trophies and Pokemon in Smash 4 3DS.
 
February also makes sense because it would give it a month before Capcom Pro Tour would begin (if Final Round is the first event).

Yeah. I'm not getting my hopes up for PC, but it would be a shame if they artificially cap it when the PC has pretty much no performance ceiling. Just make it a detail setting.

No chance Necalli is the final boss. You don't reveal a final boss that early and not make him seem like a final boss.

Yeah, on top of being low poly, they are animated very poorly. I can see the animation getting optimized before the textures for some reason. To your other point, we know "weather" is supposedly a thing, so if it's actually dynamic then the reason the background assets are so poor right now is to allow for the weather to work. They may be going for whatever it takes to get it running first, then work to optimize it leading up to release. That's my wishful thinking.

We don't know how many characters/stages are part of one season, granted creating characters takes time, plus I haven't even mentioned balance updates cause you very well know a second vtrigger/vskill, CA and new mechanics will be added to keep the game fresh.

I said he could use something like that in this thread. Yoga Burner makes me think of a constantly active hitbox move, like he has Vergil's swords or something.

On top of that, what is Yoga Float? It would be interesting if it was just "Fly" and he could come at you like Sentinel for a brief period.
 
I'll be fine with Dhalsim in the game as long as the netcode work. You don't know how many times I've been grabbed during a combo string by him a long with Sagat.

He had an alternative float dash in Omega mode.
 
6 is OK, but I was hoping for at least 8.

I guess it's not confirmed that it's ALL we'll get.

I'm assuming that's it until we get more concrete info.
