Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

oh my god warzone

this mode is perfect

love it!

One thing I can't stand about Warzone? Getting the final hit on a boss counts as the kill. We just focused fire on the Warden Eternal with a Mantis, a Scorpion, a Ghost and a Banshee and a guy on the enemy team with a magnum got the kill.

Makes it part of the fun, really. Taking down a boss is as much about corralling and denying the enemy team access to the boss to chance a killsteal.

It's the best it's ever been in a long long time.

They got the fundamentals absolutely correct.
I agree. I think it's rock solid fundamentally so far. There's no junk all over mp like Halo 4 at launch.

Also, So far when I miss I know I missed, which makes the perfect medal that much more satisfying.

I played about 15 minutes of SP on solo last night and came away a bit worried.

For one, there's such a big disconnect between the opening cinematic and Osiris team in-game. Once you're in charge of the squad, you're babysitting them to do anything.

From what I can see, the squad AI is incredibly lacking and I just felt like I was playing by myself, not with a fire team.

To see them rip through a covenant armada in the opening then become brain dead in-game feels like the most half-baked concept ever

Isn't that every videogame cutsceen? You don't have to pay attention to them at all but they help if you need them. I just watched Buck finish off a Knight without my input and I find they're handy in distractions, but you don't want them to finish levels for you. If you want them to kick ass, get your friends to join in.

I do wish there was a little more A.I. Interaction in Warzone, but it's a delicate balance probably. However, after the initial sequence with them, they only seem to show up very sparingly.

I'm loving the multiplayer but I'm really hoping they'll bring some classic maps to it too. I don't want heaps but just four or five mainstays. Lockdown is the one I'm really missing at the moment.

Played mission 1 on Heroic and partly mission 2, no complaints about the challenge here. I went for a round of Warzone and that was just awesome. The new moves 343 added really make this a different experience while at the same time really keeping it Halo. I fucking love the gameplay and it controls like a dream. Graphically it does it's job but it hasn't blown me off my couch yet, but i expected that. The smooth as hell framerate is dope as hell though.

wasn't able to play last night so was excited to play some this morning before I have a bunch of stuff that I need to take care of only to find a 9GB update waiting for me... why couldn't this have downloaded overnight?

I saw on Reddit that it's better to install the game from the disc offline a and then comedy to the Internet to patch? They said it tries to install and download the patch at the same time then?

Guardian. It's time for the GOAT to come back

Edit- I mean it's in the damn Title

My biggest complaint with the campaign is this. The AI is making me rage constantly on Legendary. Otherwise I'm enjoying it.

So are there any major disasters in this game so far? Issues with multiplayer connections? Playing with a party? Are microtransactions ridiculously intrusive? Game crashes? Anything I should be aware of?

So the special weapon variants that come from Req Packs (like the silenced BR), act just like normal weapon reqs so you get unlimited use of them for the duration of the match and then they're gone?

Yeah, I agree.

When they said cloud computed AI I thought it would be something like Titanfall does, with enemy AI around the entire map and constantly spawning. It would be OK if it was easy enemies, like the marines on the bases, grunts, etc.

The way it currently is, I think it's weak. AI spawns are predictable and always in the same pattern. They could at the bare minimum made enemies spawn at random times, positions and order.

Just finished 6 missions....

wow....

I don't know what people are saying.... The story is F-ing phenomenal....

The only criticism have is pacing, it kinda stumbles from one plot point to the next, but overall not too bad, and I've only beat two levels on Legendary.

Chief's
turn to the 'darkside' (why am I spoilering this, lol?)
didn't really seem like a big enough deal to
set off the hunt.

Fuck mission 14 and fuck whoever thought that was okay.

How in the fuck am I supposed to beat that part on Legendary solo?

Teammates with Incendiary Cannons, you with Binary Rifles.

I really lucked out with that encounter. Beat the final one with a fucking Scattershot. :lol

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Lockout is overrated as fuck, keep it away from H5 pls

I'm the biggest Lockout/Lockdown fan but i think there are other maps that would fit even better with the new H5 movement and gameplay...

A visually, completely redone... like different setting/ambient... Zanzibar/Stonetown... Terminal, Hang 'em High and Wizard would be epic! And yes, of course Lockout... but again, with a complete visual setting change-up. Maybe on a burning star with reds and desert tones... or high up in an alien, tropical rain forest canopy as tree-houses?!

What the heck is with those 3 missions that you definitely know what I am talking about if you finished the campaign. Why were they even made.

So...this game is pretty damn great.

It's kind of shocking how much better the thing actually plays. The weapons just feel incredible. Really didn't expect there to be that much of an improvement in that area.

Nah, they're loadout weapons. You keep them forever.

You do have to wait until you hit a high enough REQ level before you can call them in, though.

Lower the amount of grenades, remake halo 2/3 maps and improve feedback when shot just a bit and this becomes maybe the best halo.

Feels like 343 actually learned from Halo 4. Well done.

So, I'm not holding out much hope, but are the brutes back in this game? They were a really fun enemy and I would like to see them return. I haven't kept up with the EU stuff, is there anything official about what the brutes have been doing since Halo 3?
