I would be more inclined to believe this guy's BS if he put any actual effort into looking like Kanye. There's never a good reason to engage in blackface, at all.
As for the bolded, people explaining why blackface is offensive to others really shouldn't be hard to grasp. It dehumanizes and belittles black people to a stereotype. That doesn't impede progress, and if those individuals still refuse to see why that is bad, it will create implications beyond them being ignorant, and they shouldn't be surprised when the rest of us look at them in a bad light. We already have posters in here trying to deflect after the mass bannings occurred. I wonder why.

There is a lot of unease occurring in the US right now within minorities. You have nut jobs at Trump rally's assaulting Latinos without consequence. You have dozens of unarmed, non violent, black kids being killed by police, you have an entire political party that has "questioned the origins" of a sitting president for the past 7 years.
Let me say this plainly, what the guy doing in the OP is not ok. He doesn't get a "pass" or "degree of understanding" because of the historic and cultural significance of blackface. Does it make him a racist? Well maybe not in and of itself. But you can certainly call it ignorant at the least. I feel over the past several years now, there has been a steady build up of racial tension in the US created by these hateful people and groups. They are of the same ilk that posted billboards saying Blue Lives Matter. As if Black Lives Matter is a hate group or a "versus" group. There was a Latino man was at a trump rally holding a sign that simply said "equality". Do you know what happened to him? He was thrown to the floor and dragged out of the building by a random rally goer while the entire crowd chanted "USA".

It's pathetic that these people saying all this (whatever skin color they are) are incapable of trying to see through the perspective of those being humiliated through blackface.
