Two new Iowa polls show Clinton with GIANT leads over Sanders

Bernie and Trump as independent. Have the votes split between 4 candidates.

This really would be the most honest way to conduct things, but it'd never happen. Sanders has already said he wouldn't do it (out of fears of becoming the secondcoming of Ralph Nader) - and both sides would be too tempted to reign their independent candidate in to guarantee a victory over the split opposition.

If Trump goes independent, it's over for the GOP. They'll be put in an unwinnable circumstance.

Technically speaking, Gore lost because Jeb's administration illegally purged thousands of voters from the Florida rolls less than a year before the election.

Not to mention procedural bullshit with the ballots. Gore lost because Bush gamed the system better than him, not because Ralph Nader grabbed a small cross-section of liberal voters who may not have even voted for him in Nader's absence.

Al Gore couldn't even win Tennessee. If you're not popular enough to win your own home state, what does that say about your candidacy?

\/\/\/ At this point, I'm fully on the "America, you get the candidates you deserve" bandwagon. I'll vote my conscience and not for whom I hate the least.

I'm simply denying the fact that I am sexist by saying the most outlandish shit possible. Bitch was probably the wrong word to use since it does have gender connotations. That's honestly how I speak normally. I probably use "corporate whore" a lot too but would likely use "shill for the banks" in the future when talking about Hillary. Truth be told, I wouldn't vote for Bernie as an independent it came down to Hillary versus a guy like Trump. But honestly I'd have to see the field at that point. I still think a guy like Ben Carson could win even with Bernie splitting the vote. I simply hate the fact that every Hillary supporter hear talks down to Bernie supporters like this shit was all foretold and that people were stupid to even believe he had a chance to begin with.

I mean the fact that you want to use words like "bitch" and "whore" to describe Clinton says a lot about you. Saying outlandish things as a followup doesn't help your case either.

Anyway, the reason you got jumped on initially (by democrats in general, not necessarily Hillary supporters) was because of your wish for Bernie to run independent without seeming to realize or care what that would do to this country.

I didn't say I used corporate whore to describe Hillary but that id avoid using it in the future to avoid arguments like this that have no bearing on why I would rather Bernie be the nominee. The oh he said bitch so he must be a sexist is fair but not at all true. I use bitches to describe the 49ers on a daily basis.

Or an implication that they aren't serious voters? So is he a threat or insignificant? Seems to be conflicted around here.

He's not a threat to the established candidate, but a threat if his voter base does not support the established candidate.

Yes, I think that's how it works.

I don't get it. I thought Bernie was a joke-of-a-threat with supporters who "don't vote." So who cares if he runs as an independent?

I don't think he would, but if he did run as an independent it wouldn't be a joke for the Democrats. You don't see these 1984-style landslide elections anymore, and Bernie is still popular enough that if he took off and ran as an independent his support could cost Hillary those crucial percentage points in battleground states.

He's insignificant in the primary but if he decided to run third party, despite already saying he wouldn't, it would hurt the democrats chances, just like Nader did. I don't see how it's hard to understand.

Here's the thing--while it's not literally foretold, it nearly is in practicality. It takes years or generations, sometimes, to get a candidate like Sanders into the White House. This election is too late. Next election is too late. Maaaaaaybe the political composition of the country can change enough by the election after that, at a real longshot. You have to start very locally, and if enough local representatives around the country are elected, eventually some of them will run for state office, and eventually some of those will run for congress or governor, and after feeding enough of those into the system for a while you hopefully have a Congressional caucus, high-ranking state officials and, from that pool, perhaps, a real Presidential candidate.

Not directed at you specifically, but poking one's head out of an apolitical groundhog hole every four years to complain that Mickey Mouse isn't getting traction doesn't get anyone anywhere.

Write him off folks he went down 2.7% compared to the last poll Loras College did.

Code:
Candidate*	Candidate Support
(August 24-27 Poll)	Candidate Support
(October 19-22 Poll)	Change
Hillary Clinton	57.2 percent	61.6 percent	+4.4 percent
Bernie Sanders	26.3 percent	23.6 percent	-2.7 percent
Martin O’Malley	5.6 percent	3.2 percent	-2.4 percent
Undecided	8.0 percent	10.2 percent	+2.2 percent

Hillary is going to inspire high voter turnout as well folks, this election will be a cake walk.

he was the only one during the debates that encouraged more voter turnout in midterms... the ONLY one.

It's kind of a weird thing to bring up at a debate, but you're crazy if you don't think everyone in the democratic party want a higher midterm turnout in 2018. This is something that would help the party immensely.

The Right are probably holding their attacks for next summer. They realized they could be creating a monster in Sanders by helping him.

It'd be a Republican wet dream for Sanders to get the nomination. They've spent the past decade making 'socialist' into the most damning of words, and their opposition could be a guy wearing the badge with pride? Who doesn't excite the minority vote, leaving them open? It'd be a dream come true.

This is a pillow fight compared to 2008.

And in the end, there wasn't that much distance between the Clinton and Obama camps, especially when compared to the deep divide within the GOP. A coalition was made and Democrats won the presidency.

That's a fuckin' circus, and I wonder if they're truly, sincerely behind the mind of those who elect them, or their corporate friends.

The GOP's establishment / tea party / evangelical / Washington outsider power struggle is fascinating to watch, and shows a fracturing much deeper than anything going on inside the Democrats.

Could it be like The Boy Who Cried Wolf, though? They screamed the S-word so high, and so often, that when a real D̶e̶m̶o̶c̶r̶a̶t̶i̶c̶ Socialist shows up on stage, it's too late.

Of course, the propaganda only ever worked on the ignore-ant, and that's who the Republican party capitalizes on, like how a parasite tries to absorb itself in a host.

If it was Sanders vs Rubio/Walker (I know he is out)/Bush its one thing, but if its Sanders vs Trump, they know sanders would win.

that wasn't my point... my point is that Bernie is the most sincere.... all the others are out to play politics. Bernie talks about solutions to problems, Establishment candidates consider the crazy people in the house as "friends". (see biden quote).

Even paul ryan is catching shit from thos fucking radicals because he compromises with senate leaders and other democrats...

You guys can be pragmatic all you want, i don't blame you... but stop it with the fucking bullshit infighting and the "bernie sander's supporters are racist" scapegoating bullshit. "pie in the sky" this "unrealistic" that. How hard is it for you to demonstrate some kind of self control when it comes to insulting bernie supporters?

Pointing to Bernie people saying they won't support Hillary is like pointing to the PUMAs back in 2008.

These people exist, but not really.

Serious question to Hillary supporters: Your honest opinion about her foreign policy record?

She is a bit too hawkish for my taste. But I don't think she is a "stealth neo-con" like many liberals I've heard talk about her. I think she showed restraint during her time at the state dept. she doesn't seem as reactionary as she used to be. (Authorizing force in Iraq) But she could still end up being more aggressive/assertive than Obama. Hopefully she will continue to show restraint for whatever happens next in the world.

Not trying to evade the question, but is there a link to show what Sander's thoughts on current foreign policies concerns?

Like the poster above states, I'm guessing some will think her hawkish, but that is why I like her.

Past Rumors of Wesley Clark being a possible running mate even makes that more apparent.

seriously... it's quite aggravating when Bernie himself would probably never independent and endorse the shit out of hilary if she gets the nomination.
