I read it like half asleep this morning before work, now I just read it again sooo good.

It's like James Joyce meets Cormac McCarthy in the underground world.

They are not off. Like most slang, there are multiple definitions of these words depending on how they are used and who is using them. If you went on 4chan and started asking about "traps," you'd end up with a very different result than what the woman in question was talking about.

I'm shocked that there is so much discussion here about her use of colloquial speech. I would think it shouldn't be a new idea to anyone. Why aren't we discussing whether this story was even interesting enough to be shared in the first place? In my opinion, it's really not, but it seems like the rest of the nation disagrees (it's Game of Thrones all over again).

By "off" I don't mean "Urban Dictionary has the wrong definition" obviously words can mean different things in different contexts, especially slang. What I meant by "off" was "I'm surprised UD doesn't have the definition Zola was using"

The story is alright, I think the way its written adds a lot of personality and makes it enjoyable to read. If it were written normally it would probably feel sterile and depressing.

Also after a reread I'm kinda confused what a kind of human being "Zola" is.

After serving a guest at her restaurant and talking to her for some time she was down to travel with the new woman and her friends to florida?

Also man wouldn't she get charged aswell? She set Jess up for prostitution aswell and was a kind of acclompice in a run&gun

i wonder what the statute of limitations is on this. isn't she kind of snitching on herself and the other chick here.

would be another insane twist if they get charged soon.

Its my second language and I got it all, and im an idiot. Pretending to not understand urban slang is a weird nerd tradition that I dont get, nerds drop Valyrian all the time, talk about their waifus and yaoi shit but when its time to know what is the meaning of "salty" in an obvious context, well they just need to let the world know they dont understand these weird black urban words.

And 20th Centuray boyz aint shit b.
This thread delivers.

Haha, could not stop reading. I've been through some shit that I thought I'd never experience and this is just another avenue in the dark corners of life. Love this shit.

How are you lost if the girl posts what X term means?

there are more common terms she doesnt explain that I just dont understand, sorry you guys think that makes me a bigot...

for example (and this was already covered in the thread) the word lowkey. I didnt understand the way it was used.

Yeah, I hear you. Honestly, the fact that every single person in the story came off as a sociopath killed any interest I really had in what ended up happening to everyone, but I can see how others might have been drawn in.

it isn't the lack of understanding that makes you look like a bigot. It's the condescending as fuck attitude towards someone who speaks differently than you do.

yes it does, what are you talking about?

trap means trick which means to prostitute which is what UD has up there.

Great read! She weaves a good story.

Also the transparent racism in this thread is making me question why I come to this place even more than I have been for the past few months. /:

Wait, you want a stripper to choose her words wisely? Do you really believe all strippers are in school/med school?

not by her, changed by someone else. and she doesnt have to use different language if she doesnt want to, it just means that, for me to more fully understand, someone would have to translate (translate being a loaded term I see) or clarify.

Can you not just infer what the meaning is? I mean almost no one knows all the words in a novel but will be able to infer the meaning based on the sentence and the overall piece.

Pretty sure they're clear on everything, including the murder since the fiance and Jess presumably flipped on Z already. I think with prostitution, you have to catch someone in the act of solicitation.

These racist clowns almost always get themselves banned anyways, just gotta wait for Bish to strike :3

Sounds like a personal problem b...

what does b mean? also, its certainly not an isolated incident, not understanding someone else's slang.

Dude just stop....

It's clear that you don't give a fuck about this story so why are you sticking around? This is nice fun thread where everybody is just enjoying a great story and you have to be the odd man out and kill the vibe with your incessant trolling.
