Seriously, I still have the PM's in my inbox lol, he sent me over 20 of them. Fuck it though, I'm not bothered by it, I just want to enjoy the hype with you guys and probably die from lack of sleep when the game comes :).
Damm. sorry you had to put up with that bullshit.

Anyone else having trouble making a purchase at the Bethesda store? Tried to get a bobble head but payment isn't going through. My card and everything is fine. PayPal is down, could that have something to do with it?

It's alright Shy, that's one of the reasons I left and went to the spoiler thread as well. You getting FO4 as well?
Yes sir, i ordered it on PC from GMG today for only 30 Pound.
I also got an X1 Elite controller today, so i'll be using that to play it with.

Pre-ordered this via GMG with their 22% off voucher code FACEYO-URFEAR-S22PER

Total was $46.80

You don't get the code right away, like with other GMG preorders. Hopefully it's available before release day.

Seeking help from ID has paid off.

Big time. Rage has some of the best gunplay of last-gen and DOOM 4 looks pretty sweet, so they went to the right people.

They could have gone to MachineGames, as well (aside from that whole 'being in Sweden' thing), Wolfenstein was exemplary. Bethesda's subsidiary talent is staggering, between those two, Tango Gameworks, and Arkane...

How do we not have twitch streams or youtube videos of the game by now with all these unboxings? Unlesa these are actual sites / reviewers and not random guys that got it from a mom and pop store?

So far it seems like reviewers only. I suspect though next week retail copies will start to pop.

Fucking sweet, I can't wait for mine. Is there a place where I can check if my phone will fit? I have a Note 3 and a Note 4 shortly.

What information is going to be displayed on the screen? I doubt I'll ever use it but it looks very cool.

Bethesda lists the measurements as 141.2mm (tall) x 71.6mm (wide) x 10.2mm (thick) without any of the foam inserts. If you have an iPhone 6, you already know that your 138.1 x 67x 6.9 mm device will fit. The iPhone 6 Plus measures 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm and the Samsung S6 is 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. Even without the inserts, those aren't not going to work, as they are too tall (or, if put in a Pip-Boy, long).

The information which will be displayed is stats and stuff like that. You can check Bethesda's E3 presentation. They showed the app.

He claims to pull out a season pass but I'm pretty sure Bethesda outright said it doesn't come with one. Did he mistake a flyer advertising the season pass with a season pass?

Yeah, he says in the comments it's just an ad for the pass with the Fallout 3 code on it. I got excited too!

I was weak and ordered:

and

tee-fo-vintagenukacola-detail_1.jpg

Which is funny, because they are easily priced about $5 each too high IMO but I still haven't ordered Fallout 4. I'm waiting for a GMG deal or similar. I have a problem.

Uhhhh.. So apparently they will be selling these at target?

... I'm gonna drink em all and I don't even like soda.

I'm thinking of buying Fallout 4, but I'm not sure of it, so I want to ask some questions.
Does the Fallout games have good stories?
Do I have to do the same thing over and over just to gain points and raise my level (grinding)?

Story is always pretty lousy in Bethesda games. Its more about the gameplay, and there's never any grinding.

Thanks for the info.

I like that gameplay is good and there's no grinding, but If I'm going to spend many hours, I want a good story, too. I will think more about it, I will read some reviews and impressions and I will make a decision.

It's hard to judge since people will either find modern Fallout games to have terrible stories or they're fine with them. For me, the side quests are good and some of them are really good. I'd say the Replicated Man from 3 (Where Boston was mentioned) is one of my favorites.

Lolidontevencare about the story. I just want to explore. I love exploration in video games (especially fog of war).

Wewt! I need to calm down!

These games are more about atmosphere and exploration to me, which tells it's own story in interesting ways.

Right. The destroyed world tells a story about the people who lived after the bombs dropped -- cvilizations that developed.

I remember a dev talking about world building for f3 and how they actually built a non destroyed world first, and then blew it up to get the game we got. Pretty neat.

I got a pre-order on cdkeys.com for $37. Hopefully they deliver the keys a little early for preloading.

I was under the assumption for like almost the entire month that it was going to be November 1st, so when i learnt it was November 10th.. I was so sad :(

I think they described it like, areas have a minimum and maximum level range. So one area might be Levels 30-40. So yeah, if you enter at level 5 good luck. If you enter at level 35, the enemies will match you at 35.

I agree. The Elder Scrolls scaling is super lame. I like the idea of exploring being dangerous. Oh that looks like a cool area I have never been to. I'm level 20, nothing can stop me! Yeah well, explore at your own risk, because there could be a level 50 mob right around the corner! The way the wasteland should be.

While this sounds like a fairly tolerable sort of scaling (it's still scaling in an RPG, so it sucks dick), I don't understand why they have to have scaling at all

No one wants scaling (right?). Just get rid of it.

I can appreciate scaling. I don't fancy the idea of wandering around at level 5 and finding a fixed level 900 godtier cannon that makes the combat thereafter trivial.

Yep. Especially as i am a wanderer. So i know ill venture off to some remote corner and get blasted.

I don't get it. You wouldn't be able to kill it, thus it wouldn't trivialize anything. You'd have to actually FLEE and come back when you're stronger.

With scaling, you'll never have to back down, you're always able to kill any enemy you come across. It's aimed at the lowest common denominator.

e: oh, you said CANNON. lol, no idea what I thought it said. Like LabouredSubterfuge said, it'd obviously be guarded by the enemy you'd have to flee

And I don't even know what this is supposed to mean

There are ways to design around that though, like having a hard motherfucker guard it or it having a high stat requirement or some other gate.

Oh- I'm talking about loot scaling.

Yeah lol I just woke up, looks like I really need that first cup of coffee

But yeah, what LS said.

Hell, I actually think being able to get your hands on an end-game item early on IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING is cool as all hell. Always loved it when an RPG gives you that chance.

If you might just randomly wander into a high level item that trivializes combat, that's the level/quest/whatever designer's fault, not level scaling's

I like scaling. I like to explore.

I wonder why Nvidia hasn't given us any info on what GameWorks features will be available? Within 2 weeks of release of a GameWorks game, they normally release a trailer showing off all the nice effects.
HBAO+ and PCSS could really improve the look of the game.

I like scaling. I like to explore.

Wouldn't exploring be more interesting WITHOUT scaling? Every piece of loot would be 100% unique etc

e: unless you literally just mean seeing new sights and whatever with exploring, in which case I kinda understand since with scaling you could go pretty much anywhere, but that just raises further questions
