Guys so I have a dilemma. I got $400 Lakers vs Rocket tickets on December 17th at 7:30pm gifted to me, but I am also going with a group of 16 people to Imax 7pm showing middle row on the same day. I feel sick to my stomach.

I'm a huge basketball and Star Wars fan.

As big a Star Wars fan i am, and a non basketball fan, i'd still use the $400 game tickets, Star Wars will still be there on the 18th, and 19th and 20th and every day for a few weeks.

They're not completely separate when the PT actively bleeds over the original movies.

I didn't mind Lucas' changes to the OT too much but this is the absolute worst thing he did IMO. Vader redeemed himself there was no need to change the force ghost!

The most we've learned from the possible origins of the First Order comes not from Aftermath or Lost Stars but from a Rebels tie-in book, The Secret Academy. I'll spoiler it just in case, but this is officially released material. The commandant of an Imperial Academy addresses a group of select cadets. The commandant's name is Hux (!!!).

“The Republic’s clones were effective soldiers because they weren’t just trained for battle but bred for it,” Hux said. “Their training began at birth, with newborns tested for eyesight and reflexes. You’ve all learned that. But what you may not know is that the Jedi were the same way—they searched the galaxy for babies and young children who shared their sorcerous gifts and trained them from the cradle. In both cases, the result was a cadre of superior, fanatically loyal warriors.”
“The clones’ nature posed a weakness, however,” Hux said. “Because they were genetically identical, they were vulnerable to the same biological agents and pathogens—and, indeed, Separatist scientists spent much of the war seeking to create bespoke viruses that would target the clone armies.
“Our Emperor was aware of this possibility and opened the ranks of the military to the entire galactic populace. By doing so, he avoided the clones’ genetic vulnerabilities and ensured that Imperial citizens knew their military was made up of their own families, rather than some lesser order of humanity. But there was a trade-off—with the clones trained from birth to be soldiers, no nonclone could ever equal their prowess in battle.”
The cadets turned in their chairs to watch the commandant’s relentless pacing.
“But what if there were a way to avoid that trade-off?" Hux asked. “What if you could train nonclone soldiers from birth? Isn’t that exactly what the Jedi did?”
The commandant stopped behind his chair and rested his hands on it, his brilliant blue eyes fixing on each cadet in turn.
“We can train stormtroopers from birth, as the clones and Jedi were,” he said. “Over generations, through careful observation and selection, we will create an army that has all the clones’ strengths but none of their weaknesses. Stormtroopers utterly loyal to the Empire who see it as their family—because that is what it will be.”
Hux smiled, smacking the back of his chair for emphasis.
“This has been a dream of mine for years,” he said. “I searched for officers who would understand what I proposed, and who could help me create these champions of our Empire. When I didn’t find those officers, I decided to follow my own advice—I would create them. You have been chosen to begin this great work alongside me—to execute my design. Together, my cadets, we shall oversee the creation of legions that ensure the Empire lives forever.”

Oh, interesting. I haven't read the Servants of the Empire series yet.
The training from birth bit is very interesting, especially when you consider Finn's "I was raised to do one thing" from the trailer.
I wonder if it'll improve their aim.

It would be interesting to see Stormtroopers that aren't a bunch of bumbling idiots, but there needs to also be some kind of on-screen explanation as to why the First Order stormtroopers are so much superior to their predecessors.

Those Kimmel videos were pretty funny.

Also, Ford usually sticks by his films even if they weren't so great.

Edit: I think Ford has social anxiety, which is why he always acts a bit odd and like a grumpy old man.

Just listened to Star Wars Oxygen, Dave Collins points out that the piano notes at the beginning of the trailer introducing Rey are a progression of Han/Leias theme :o

Im starting to believe

Ford usually doesn't usually go out of his way to talk up his movies in this fashion, but he was also pretty publicly pissed when Shia LeBeouf came out and apologized for Crystal Skull's poor critical reception and his role in it, so IDK.

I don't think Ford had seen the movie anyway. I don't think any of the cast have...it's not finished yet. Both Boyega and Ridley looked like they never seen any of that footage.

better working conditions and compensation on account of being unionized.

I now fully expect him to have cameos in VII, VIII, and IX.

Thanks a lot, pal.

If anyone deserves a cameo it should be Liam Neeson.

This is what I wore to the episode III line

based on your avatar I'd always thought you were black..

He is rumored for a Darth Vader Solofilm

Ugh, why would they need Christensen for a Vader solo film? It'd be much easier to just cast someone who's actually as tall as Vader:

Wikipedia said:
As Christensen recounted, it was originally intended to simply have a "tall guy" in the Darth Vader costume. But after "begging and pleading" with Lucas, the Vader costume used in the film was created specifically to fit Christensen. The new costume featured shoe lifts and a muscle suit.[17] It also required Christensen (who is 6 feet 1 inch or 1.85 metres tall) to look through the helmet's mouthpiece.[18]

Honestly I'd be pretty stoked for Hayden to come back in some form. His acting was totally fine in other movies, its just shit scripts and direction from Lucas that led to his weak performances in the PT.

Maybe with some good dialogue and a decent director he would get a chance to redeem himself? If he had an awesome part in Ep. 8 I could see it retroactively making the PT movies better in some way..Idk this sounds kinda crazy lol but id be down for it
