Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I would go down to 1 grenade on spawn. Some of these maps are very tight in the corners or key spaces, and you can have like 3-4 grenades just fly in. Grenade spawns are liberal throughout and grenade pickup is easy, so no need for so many at spawn.

Getting so tired of Warzone over the fact that I haven't joined a winning team for 2 days now. All everyone seems to care about is capturing bases, and getting themselves killed.

not once have I won a game of warzone lol. just stopped playing it.

actually just went back to halo 2, playing a MP match <3

wanted to compare Halo 5 shooting and Halo 2 shooting.

The sniper rifle is absolutely insane in this game. The headshot hit box seems way too large. I went 40-2 using it in Warzone and it was just too easy.

Just finished the campaign and it was quite good IMO. I don't get the reviews claiming the story is disjointed/incomprehensible if you haven't read the expanded universe stuff.

Maaaan...Just finished Genesis.. Amazing.
The atmosphere, the mystery, Music..Unfamiliar world. Thats how it should be. I really loved it. Great work 343.

Halo should be about that. Just like when we first saw Halo. Were we blinded by its beauty? :p

Unfamiliar, Alien, you wanna just wander around.. That's what I loved about halo CE.

There are many great details that got my intention..Like when you are zooming in with the light rifle, Have you guys seen it? Look at your buddy when he zooms in. The rifle just pops up. Open..And the light actually lights in dark places and reflects on the armor. Loved it.. Great work 343.

Having a blast on legandary :D

Same here. The competition has been pretty great. I'll have games where I go off and games where I suck but the matches are almost always close. That's great.

Sliding low while someone shoots for your head, then jump boosting into his face for the kill is the single most glorious feeling in gaming this year.

Seriously, wtf... I've started like ten games one man down. CTF on truth is damn near impossible when you start 3v4.

I don't know what the supposed penalties are for quitting but they need to be more severe with rapid escalation. Something like...on screen warning...10 mins...30 mins...1 hour...1 day...1 week. Reset the escalation after enough matches with good behavior.

I also wonder if the game enforces the existing penalties if the player dashboards out of the game or powers off the console. That's probably a tough problem to solve because legitimate issues like a loss of power or internet outage might look exactly the same. If there are ways to fly under the radar then determined quitters will find a way to protect their stats.

Bad behaviors have set in over the years. It's going to take some time to weed out the quitters, especially since other casual games like Destiny and Call of Duty don't really punish quitting much.

Halo 5 needs to be uncompromising and stick to its eSports and competitive resolve for Arena.

So was there this kind of an outrage over aiming when the absolute shit-show of Halo 3 was in its prime?

That aim acceleration is literally the worst imaginable.

The complains were so bad that Bungie had to release an update dedicated solely to it. I think Luke Smith wrote it actually.

edit: that was actually about BR spread instead. aim acceleration was complained about a lot though coming off of Halo 2.

On mission 7, campaign is a lot better than Halo 4 was. I think having two teams of actual personalities helps the story as well. They are able to do in-mission chatter and explain enough for those playing the game.

Missions have been fun too. I am on heroic.

In regards to the ending I just realized we might also have to face
BB, I mean he only has a few months left at best plus his superiority complex towards humanity isn't helping either

Common sense to me if your not aiming at something you shouldn't hit it. I understand all the movement, but that dudes head is 1/20th of the reticle and his bullets are hitting

Bullet magnetism has always been a part of halo. It's a concession to the limitations of a controller.

Having played MCC since release, I fired up a custom game on halo 5 after it had installed and ran around the midship remake. I didn't feel anything wrong with the controller axis tracking but would have spotted something immediately if it was seriously broken due to playing regularly.

Wtf is with platinum and diamond ranked people being tossed into rounds with qualifiers?? Is it like some cute way of padding their k/d records?!

Also realizing hipfire is more accurate than zooming in "swat" is a fucking joke, no wonder aiming feels like shit in this game it's been consolized out the ass lmfao!!

Only way to see if you can qualify yourself into Diamond is to be put in a match with Diamonds and see if you can compete.

It's a natural part of the placement.

Wait, really? I was sure this whole time it was team. Huh.

From what I gather, it's a mix. You're getting big team wide chunks from things like base caps and boss takedowns, and then smaller XP chunks from stuff you personally are doing like Spartan kills. A guy on my team yesterday was a full Req level ahead of me because he'd been racking up kills in a tank.

I get that. Halo 5's whole thing is making it competitive, they finally toned down the sticky aim yet the magnetism is some of the worst its been.

The pistol really needs a faster TTK than BR/DMR its so much harder to use, and the AR is a bit to strong IMO.

No because then you would have zero reason to pick up a DMR or BR and the pistol would be OP for a starting weapon.

lol... well, wouldn't you know it... we actually won that one. Hell of a game!

high aim assist + low bullet magnetism
low aim assist + high bullet magnetism

pick one.

I'd say this current solution is up to the player to position the reticule where he knows magnetism will take affect...

In H2-Reach, the reticule would literally snap to and follow enemies as they moved past your feild of view, taking control away from the player.

These crutches are nessisary to make console shooters feel good. The one chosen here does so in a manner that allows the player the most control.

With regards to 60fps i was like yes it nice and all that but then when i got to mission 8 i think half way through, im like fucking hell fair play to 343 60fps and all this shit happening on the screen. Amazing.

Some people who are doing qualifiers are good enough for platinum and onyx. There's no way to figure out where they belong if they never play qualifiers against skilled opponents. Allowing them to place immediately after their qualifiers instead of moving up through the ranks mean fewer slaughters will be endured.

So far for the change since beta :

- Thruster seems to be weaker, less range.
- Players are harder to kill in breakout mode. You can still one shot them in the head, but body seems to have more health.
- No Eden or Empire in Slayer ? Only swat, FFA and Team Arena...
- Your aim is moved further if a player is shooting at you.
- Most of the breakout map are bigger, and imo that's not for the better. Prefer small map on it.
- Less op starter pistol ?

Is there some more ?

So far so good, I mostly recognize the game I felt in love with during the beta. Better Halo MP since... ever ?

The aim assist is serious in this game though : http://xboxclips.com/tartarosxx/049d9903-c0e3-45ba-b76c-460d67dfd0c2
