Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

^^ Sim is probably one of the best animated character alongside Birdie and Vega in this game. I am in awe on how good he looks and moves.

I think 2 girls per Season. Some SF2 and Some SF3 characters per season to keep variety. And at the least 1 character per season that didn't appear on USFIV

2016
Juri
Ibuki
Alex
Urien
Balrog
Guile

2017
Akuma
Sagat
Maki
Elena
Dudley
Hakan

2018
Sakura
Feilong
Blanka
Makoto
Cody
Sodom

2019
Honda
Rose
Sean
Hugo
Rolento
C. Viper

2020 (only season with no SF2 and only 1 girl)
Q
Guy
Adon
Poison
Oro
Yun/Yang

Not so much 2 girls per season as it is likely they'll maintain the 2 guys : 1 girl ratio they've got going- there are clearly more male returnees and the girls are hyper-popular overall relative to the guys. (I can't see them maintaining 6 per year after year 1, it's too low.)

This release order would make me cry.

We will probably get more than 6 dlc characters for 2017 and beyond, just 6 for next year since its releasing in Feb and they still have to wrap up the base game. After that they can focus on characters, balances, updates etc.

5 years for Guy? Not sure if I could handle that wait, jesus. You're robbing Marq Teddy of his crazy offensive game, you know!

Dhalsim's animations are really impressive, looking at the recent videos. Birdie's were already great, but Dhalsim's are in a different league altogether.

Beta phase 3 is so far away.

I can't see them doing 5 years of DLC releases. Maybe 3, but 5 would definitely be stretching it. I also don't see them doing 6 a year past the second year, maybe the first, depending on sales and reception.

They have said they want this game to be a platform like League of Legends. SFIV series has lasted 7 years with SFIV Arcade, SFIV Console, SSFIV, SSFIVAE, USFIV. I think this game will last for the whole console generation and 1 or 2 years into the next console generation.

I have my doubts it can hold up that long. SF4 was able to hold up so well because it didn't stray too far from SF2 (And them botching SFxT so hard). While they're definitely trying to stray farther away from it here, they're still trying to hold onto it. Given the experimental nature of how they're approaching this game, in terms of updates and DLC, there is simply a lot that could go wrong, not just at launch, but over time if Capcom isn't happy with the amount of money they're getting from DLC, which could really lead to a backlash from players if they go too far in one direction.

SSFIV, AE, USFIV all sold significantly less than SFIV. I can bet they would be better off making more money with releasing DLC characters one at a time. And I bet there development cycle for content would be pretty much the same as SFIV updates but will hold back content and trickle each characters 1 by 1. I reckon by June all of the 6 DLC characters will be done but they will release them slowly. By July they will probably work on next year's DLC characters.

Eh...I doubt that. Once the game releases, the number of people actively working on the game will decrease. They'll have to constantly update the game based on how the balance of the game adapts. If they stop and go back at certain points, it'll just needlessly increase development costs. While I don't doubt they'll be ahead, they won't be that far ahead.

Yeah, I would like to see Adon, Rolento, Dudley and Q back so that would be a pretty harsh wait. Viper and Rose to a lesser extent too.

I got Karin though so it will be a while before I complain though.

Yeah I've considered this as well. Assuming the game is successful I could see 6-12 especially considering they have a full 14 month pipeline at this point.

My tears are more because it has almost none of my most wanted characters. Eagle? Abel? Ingrid? T. Hawk? Geki? Waiting that long for Rose and Poison would be brutal also.

And there's bound to be some more brand new characters too, and the potential for newly introduced characters from related games like Final Fight and Saturday Night Slam Masters.

I'm personally content knowing that Balrog, Urien and Guile are coming for sure. Everyone else is extra.

The only ones I really want are Dudley and Sakura, but really, I can't say I'm not happy when the initial roster has 4 characters I want to main. (Birdie, Vega, Rashid and my main boy Bison of course)

Whens Black Widow

When they put out Honda, he should be a skinny, retired Sumo wrestler.

Ibuki and Juri are pretty much the only DLC characters I want, since they're fun to play.

She'd be pretty cool. She was Haggar's tag team partner circa SFIII so that would be an interesting combo.

Biff, Gunloc, El Stingray, Rib Saber, The Scorpion, Victor Ortega, etc. Lots of interesting characters they could utilize. Biff trained with Zangief, Birdie used to wrestle with Titanic Tim, so that's some more connections. I don't even dislike El Fuerte, but I still don't know why they created him when they have a whole roster of cool wrestlers they could of used instead. (El Stingray would of been perfect in that situation.)

I would pay a lot of money to hear a new version of the Mexico stage theme omg

Ring of Destruction was such a good fucking game

After Rival Schools, it's my favorite Capcom fighting series. It's so incredibly underrated. We can't even get some arcade ports on PSN or something. :/

The roster is awesome, the music is fantastic, and the mix of fighting with wrestling is such a cool idea. (Tetsuo Hara's designs are godlike.) Some SNSM characters in Street Fighter would send me over the moon.

I need The Scorpion in Street Fighter so bad.

The irony of the zoning character having arching projectiles after all the anti zoning tools doled out to the cast is not lost.

From those two videos, it felt like Art wasn't using the fireballs correctly. He was firing to where the opponent is 100% of the time, but as the other set shows, their best use is firing them for defensive cover in front of Dhalsim so the opponent cannot approach without being punished.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but I'm liking what I'm seeing with Sim. The race for my secondary character is wide open right now and he's definitely in the running.

I thought it was going to be Mika, but coming out of beta 2 I'm not so sure. Not that she won't change before launch, but as of now I'm just not feeling her purely in-your-face style. Had enough of that in 4. Like the rest of the cast she's super fun to fight though, so regardless I'm super happy for her inclusion.

I think the later a character was a released the less likely they will appear sooner. Don't know though if Capcom will put in some surprises like Maki or Ingrid. We are overdue for Q though..

Sim looked super fun in that video (the first one). He may end up not being the best character if only because you'd think they wouldn't want Sim v Sim tournaments or whatever, but I've never had problems playing flawed characters before.

He still says Yoga Fire and Yoga Flame though right? Audio made it hard to tell.

Don't worry. Both art and champ agrees that he sucks and feels incomplete. I would hope that people find some stuff, or Capcom buff him, but it's clear they are still scared as hell to make him too strong in that he seems incredibly weak as of now.
