Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I don't see how this is a problem with "random environment clutter." It doesn't matter if you're playing Halo 5, Splatoon, Counter Strike or Gears of War know where your opponent is, know the environments around you and the basic advantages or disadvantages you have as you proceed into that 1v1, 1v2 etc.

If that "random environment clutter" happens to be a rock, get to know that rock, where its at and see what you did wrong and if you can use it to your advantage the next time.

This is basic Sun Tzu "Art of War" shit that should be applied to any shooter.

It'd be less of a problem if I wasn't already viewing the game world through a paper towel tube.

REQ system is so fucking broken. They need to give more to you more frequently. I'm level 18 and have yet to see a single Sniper Rifle, Spartan Laser, Tank, Plasma Caster, DMR, Boltshot, Incineration Cannon, Lightrifle, Turret, Stormrifle, DMR, Mantis, or Phaeton. I've also only ever gotten one Banshee and one Wraith. This shit is unacceptable. We as a community need to speak up about this. MS fixed FM5, maybe they will be willing to fix this. I've put 10 hours into Warzone FFS and spent $15 on REQ packs, when the fuck do I get the good stuff?

Well it's certainly working for them. They want people to spend money, it's the only way to unlock stuff and it's pretty much gambling. They want to force people to get frustrated with the system and throw down real money to have a chance at getting the better things quicker.

I saw that Angry Joe reviewed it and has given it a 6 currently and it could go to a 7 or higher when they add more stuff. He also said it's only a little better than Killzone SF. Not sure in what ways he meant. My guess is he's also complaining about some of those paid REQ things.

Most of the time I can agree with his reviews, but hell no with this.

I happened to watch his halo 5 streams a few days ago. It was endless whining, really. A 6 sounds reasonable from those impressions. His complaints were the usual Locke/Chief ratio, the "short" campaign, lack of splitscreen ("so that microsoft can sell more consoles") and the microtransactions( while there is a legit point to be made here he completely dismissed the reality of the situtation that is either paid dlc or 2 microtransactions).

yes it matters cause 2 of the maps are the same maps and they are completely cluttered up with walls and walkways , it effects the line of sights which are really bad on most maps. just overall very disappointing maps all around. But 4 city like maps and only one of them decent isn't good.

maps are by far the worse in the series with halo 4 being right there with it. This game is honestly not halo, even though I do somewhat enjoy it. Would enjoy it being halo even more though.

What maps in particular are you talking about? And how are they worse than maps compared to other Halo maps?

I understand being disappointed with maps but as the community progresses the bad maps will eventually be filtered out by community playing the game. It happens with every shooter.

For instance with Gears of War 1 it's still the same its been since the game came out in 2006.

Maps like Gridlock and Canals are still the favorites whereas no one plays Rooftops or Escalation. The Coalition even took those maps out of Esport matches for Gears: UE ranked matches recently.

You have Gridlock, Canals, Mansion etc. No one is playing Tyro Station seriously.

It'd be less of a problem if I wasn't already viewing the game world through a paper towel tube.

That paper towel is your scope.

I wish they went all in the scope stuff and kept you in it even when shot. I know in past Halo games it kicks you out but not every weapon had a proper scope and it was more of a secondary aspect of certain weapons but now they've made it a bigger deal with every weapon having a scope and making it important enough that it has it's own trigger in the default controls yet they kick you out of it when shot at.

It's annoying. Like, either keep it like past Halo games where most weapons should be shot from the hip and only certain weapons have scopes or go all in and CoD it up with ADS and staying in it when shot at.

jesus christ, quitting a team game mid-match should be an automatic week long ban, first offense. Second offense should brick your Xbox. These people don't deserve video games. :p

I just put 130 or so hours into Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and 4 over the past 3 weeks. I only played campaign. I don't care about Halo multiplayer and probably never will.

Does Halo have drop-in drop-out multiplayer? If no, then why does it not have it? That seems like something that can easily make quitters almost never matter, like with Gear Social or Titanfall.

There's no join-in-progress in the ranked arena modes. Warzone has it, and I'd guess the weekend social playlists might once they go live, but not in ranked arena.

It has for Warzone, but it's a terrible idea for 4vs4 and competetive modes. Halo 4 also proved that join in progress doesn't work, because people will be put into games that are impossible to win. Mostly on games, where the enemy team has a 20 point lead.

It makes the default controls a joke. You have to let go of the trigger every time you get shot and then pull it again to rescope.

Because people complain about getting thrown into matches already in progress.

He complains about Split-Screen within the first 5 mins...

...clearly never read anything in 6 months.

Also, Halo not sold in UK? Dead.

Split-screen is slightly annoying as me and a few people usually play this split screen.
At least we got MCC... I think..
I do think that the next installation in the series will continue on the path they marketed, at least it sorta makes sense with they story they set up. Also where is my FLOOD!?

Join in progress was the best part of Halo 4's multiplayer.

Um... No you don't? It snaps back to zoom after a brief moment.

No, just no. Not being able to descope your enemy is the worst thing about Halo 4. Then add in flinch and it makes gunfights even more random.

Halo isn't going back to what it was, it never will. Halo 5's ADS is s good middle ground right now and the least of its' problems. Sprint still doesn't belong in Halo, they've had multiple games to get it right and haven't.

I haven't played Halo since Halo 2 I believe, so I am not attached to the series, but I did enjoy playing Halo against others back in the day.

Right now, I'm contemplating getting Halo 5 for the online multiplayer only, as I'll have to go through the Master Chief Collection singleplayer games first but I don't wanna miss out on the active Halo 5 community.

For a game that has as much pre-recorded banter going on as this, it's weird how much important stuff feels glossed over. Why not immediately say "enemy team has the flag" or "your team has the flag" in breakout, then keep that on the screen instead of a non-specific flag away? Why in Warzone aren't we alerted when the enemy team is taking a base we're not focused on? How come it seems sometimes when a boss spawns there's not a proper heads up for it?

900 REQ a match? I get more than that in Arena!

And they also calculate the Cosmetic REQ points needed (3.4 Million REQ Points) if you only buy Gold.

When most people know Silver is better for 50% of them.

REQs are really unevenly distributed in Arena. I average about 900-1000 in the team arena playlist a match. But in breakout I only got 750 or so a match, when matches took much longer. Whereas in SWAT I get about 600 a match, and the matches take only 6 minutes or so.

Any of you having problems with the Warzone Req Bundle from the digital deluxe edition? When I access the section, it tells me "taking you to open packs now" and there's nothing, nada, 0 packs...
It's been like this since launch?

Could it be a problem on my end?

Do silver give the same amount of armor items as gold does?

Still, as bad as the REQ System is, I don't like how forward thinking people are:

"Well the REQ System is fine here, but is bad because they can make it worse in Halo 6 and 7"

...but this is Halo 5, we can worry about the REQ System in Halo 6 and 7 when we get to them.

Silvers give you 2 Permanents like Gold, but only "Common to Rare" instead of "Uncommon to Legendary".

So if you want them all for cheaper value, your best bet is to get all the Common - Rare Items through Silvers, then get Gold Packs for Ultra Rare and Up.

I'm sitting at 1-6.... I'm definitely in the running for worst Warzone record at this rate :D

To Warzone's credit, I'm finding it extremely fun and don't really care about the horrendous losses.

Yeah it's pretty fun. I am not a big fan of the way req packs play into things but everything else about it is good.

Interesting. Is there a list of the rarity that drops?
