Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

this reminds me I did an assassination on someone and I stabbed their spine but because I died after that but before the animation could finish the guy got back up with full shields, in halo reach the game knew which part of the animation was the kill frame, halo 5 doesn't do such a thing? or the servers were lagging...

This sounds like a serious issue that needs fixing if that's the case. If the kill animation happens, the victim of an assassination can't just pop back up with full shields. I haven't played any Halo 5 MP myself yet, so just going based on the info here.

Is crouching during a firefight a recommended strategy? I see plenty of folks doing that online, but...I don't see the benefit. In most instances it just provides me with a wider, slower target. All I need to do is aim down a bit. Just curious if I'm missing the benefit of such a tactic.

I believe that's a habit from Call of Duty. In that game, upon a face to face confrontation, players like to slam the crouch/prone button while shooting. Since TTK is so low in that series, you're already dead before you can adjust. It's an extremely common tactic meant to give you an edge in an otherwise fairly equal firefight. (And it's annoying)

I don't think it does all that much in Halo, though. It's basically "How to spot a COD player."

I used to do it all the time in halo 2 free for all. Bob and weave. Worked great.

Does visors change UI color? Please tell me i can have purple UI.

Also, is Vales armor something we can use in MP?

Just had my whole team quit. So frustrating.

Can we all agree to leave bad feedback for these guys? Just click there names after the game is done and select "Report" and "Quitting Early". It's becoming a constant annoyance.

Have to admit, I REALLY dislike Warzone. The concept is great, but the whole REQ system kind of ruins it for me. Cosmetic shit I can understand being locked behind this system, but only allowing you to acquire better weapons instantly in the gamemode through the use of REQ cards just seems really redundant to me. Considering that you can only use certain cards at certain levels anyway, why not just replace the REQ shit with match progression that doles out better gear naturally as the match advances or lasts longer?

It feels like the random drops when opening REQ's really affects how effective you can be in that mode.

Yes we can use the armor in MP

Not sure on the UI though. In the co op you may be able to.

Do you know the name of it?

And yes, in coop UI is purple, it looks beeeeaaaa-utiful

Warzone Assault so good with a avg.+ team

Getting really pissed off with matchmaking now.

As a Silver 1 ( yeah I'm shit) I'm getting put with Platinum players in FFA and I'm still being put on American servers every dam game.

I love you Ameribros, but I don't want to fucking play Halo with you.

Edit +1 on Warzone sucking, playing with randoms does anyway. I'm sure it's better if you have a full party.

let's say in theory it takes 100,000 hit points to kill the Warden.

With dual health bars, Blue Team does 75k damage and then Red Team swoops in and annihilates Blue Team. Red Team then has to do 100k damage to kill the Warden. If Blue Team manages to come back, they'll only have to do 25k, so Red Team has to "control the boss" to keep them off of it.

In the current system, Red Team would only have to do 25k, which means they can hide until the boss is low and then steal it. Blue Team could do 99k and still lose the boss if Red Team scores the killing blow. That's just stupid.

This is by far the best idea in this thread. Frankie, pass it along please.

I think I like Warzone Assault better than Warzone. Most Warzone games I play are just a one-sided clusterfuck with the outcome decided from the start of the game. Assault is more straightforward.

However I have managed to have a couple enjoyable games of regular warzone where both teams were competent enough, and those were actually pretty good.

Nudged sensitivity from 10 to 8, fun factor increased by 1000.

I am loving MP. Stormbreak and ARC need another path on them, though. Apex 7 is the bestest.

It think It can be OK as an occasional mix-up during a pistol/rifle duel but that has always seemed pretty unreliable.

I've only played Warzone solo and it is 100% up to who is with you and how motivated they are. Me and some other poor bastard, for 3 solid minutes trying to take over the fortress, hunting and killing the Spartans inside. We called for help, no help came. We almost had the place on a few occasions during that time. Had two other guys just came in we would have got it. Frustrating when you are on the cusp and doing all of the heavy lifting.

I'm currently level 11 (or whatever it's called) in Warzone. I have yet to buy, either with real money or REQ points, any packs. I have not even used a single REQ card. It started as my usual "I can't use it now, what if I need it later" video game compulsion, but it's turning into a challenge. I may try to keep it up, at least until it causes my brain to melt.

I like this. The current way just feels a little icky. I've been on both sides of boss kill stealing. Both sides feel a little dirty.

Assault is great when you're on Defense and not so great when you're on Offense unless the other team have their TVs off. That spire assault is some BS when they spawn right next to it and can jump off and attack you before you even get close.

Summit on Defense is my favorite.

Lmao just watched a guy bring his tank out of the Fortress, stop to pick up a gunner, then slowly make his way past where I was crouched between some rocks. Jumped out, trusted to the rear of the tank and ended his tank req. Didn't even fire a single shot lol.

On behalf of everyone who uses a Tank REQ

We hate your kind. Happened to a friend the other day and we never heard the end of it.

I absolutely hate accidentally climbing into a Scorpion turret when I'm trying to board and destroy it. There's a way to switch seats in a vehicle, why not a way to switch from gunner seat to boarding?

Note to self: Don't REQ confirmed a scorpion if the enemy team has the garage base...

Spire is terribly balanced for Warzone Assault, I agree. The defending team has a massive advantage, if they removed the barriers around the outside of the building it'd be much fairer. Defenders can just hide.

But then aiming skill is then devalued imo. The balance should be such that you can still win a 1 vs 2 if you're talented enough and have exceptional aim, and I'd say most popular online fps get this balance down pretty well. Here a combination of spawn points, ttk, shoulder barge and nade spamming make that very difficult.

Not really, Halo has always been about having a set of skill to accomplish kills, not just aim and shoot, which is based on other modern shooters, but in Halo its a set of skills, you do need a certain amount of aiming precision to get a headshot, but you also need a good awareness, map knowledge, power weapon control, and Straffing. and all of these are as important as aiming skills. and Yes, if you have exceptional skills, not even good aim is needed, you can win a 1 v 2, but not even the best of player will engage themselves into a 1 v 2 situation, the motto of Pro players is "Stay alive".

I consider myself to have really bad aim, but my experience and awareness help me out greatly to overcome a lot of situations.

Well you said it. In Halo 5 bad aimers are better than before. Even if it's just marginally. Skill gap decrease ftl. You're kidding if you think the previous halos were just aim and shoot ;P I'd like to be able to take down multiple opponents if they're average players.

Spire is probably the hardest to hold, IMO. People rushing up the ramps, the tunnels, and the rocks. Fortress is the easiest for sure. Garage would be tougher than Spire, but if you start posting people on the roof with BRs, DMRs, and Snipers, it's basically unassailable.

Enter slayer playlist to bust out my 10 games for ranking. First game 3 of my teammates leave after first death. I proceed to go 0-47 since they controlled power weapons and just all around raped me. Followed by a teabag after every death. Felt bad man.
