Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Maybe I'm the outlier here, but I find it way easier to read visually than the the other shipping forge maps. With the right mix of Breakout pieces and 'normal' Forge pieces I feel like some Forge made maps would benefit drastically.

On top of that, I really like how nice and sharp the textures are, and how the colors really pop.

dunno, i just see black and blue and corner a to corner b and c just cant stand out. Gets boring to me.

They should patch in the revive mechanic in breakout.

Make it more like trials in destiny without the terrible destiny pvp gameplay

No thanks. I think the more Counter Strike-esque they make the game mode, the better. Which makes me wonder why they went with a flag instead of a bomb. (Take flag to base and plant it?) Maybe the asset isn't there yet.

That would require me to read a SBD post, which stopped years ago.

ayyyyy

Wow. I missed this post.

What?

Most old halo fans don't enjoy it. i know a guy can come and say I loved h3 and I love H5, but these maps, sprint and clamber are not halo for most the hardcore fans.

We have said it a billion times but they really only have to take a hard look at h2/h3 and design new maps and some basic new ideas to the gameplay mix

I don't think warzone was needed

btb at 8v8 is good

With bigger maps, more vehicles at 12 v 12 for a warzone with the basic halo design would have also worked really well.

I think a map like avalanche from H3 could be tested to be a bit bigger and have more players added along with its original 8 v 8 setup as well. Love that map...

There are hundreds of issues and why should we list them out when 343 obviously doesn't care and just wants to make the game they want. well, they can do that if they want but it won't bring us back. I just play this game cause it's one that actaully works decent on my connection at least.

New maps with some class maps such as guardian, pit narrows would bring us back. Bring back sniper fights where your teams have one on each side and can get into quick snipe battles and camo balls. I mean, why make things such as camo to pick up and press a button, while these things make more sense and look better in design, they just break small little things that work great in a game world.

There is nothing wrong with taking the base gameplay of halo without sprint, no clamber. You can still make new ideas to the base gameplay. Just look at h2 to h3 with the changes in map design was enough, with new lift ideas.

Speaking of which, why the hell i have to step on lifts in h5 to go up, its things like this that are just bad design choices. You don't change thigs that are made to work better in gameplay. I know 343 wants to put their hand in the cookie jar and say they are unique, but sometimes that cookie jar needs old faithful. I have doubt bungie test lifts where you have to step on them to get them to work, but going into thier pulse array to shoot you was probably made to make the game better and flow better.

Well that's bullshit. I hope they release actual maps with the free DLC.

I imagine all 18 maps or at least the bulk of them will be actual, real maps. When it was announced we were going to get the 18 free maps BTB was not part of the discussion. If I had to make an assumption it would be that only BTB maps and Breakout maps will be forge and the rest will be real. I also don't think the BTB maps or Breakout maps will count in that 18 map total. To be honest, though, forge is rather robust this time around. I could see some maps with great design almost passing as on disc "real" maps. Pegasus and Orion seemed to be made before all the new forge features were announced and therefore aren't that spectacular. I imagine the next forge iterations will be much more impressive. If I'm wrong I'll admit it but until we hear otherwise there is no reason to assume the free maps will be forge maps.

Forge maps counted in the retail number, so there's no reason to expect them not to count in the DLC, lol.

We know that you are reading, so how about patching in a ping selector? Starting at say 50ms up to 125 ms absolute max. It would be much better than what we have got now.

They said that we don't need to choose where we play because the game will put us in the lowest ping datacenter. Which we all know is a straight up lie. Like I said earlier it's all about speed... And no doubt proving that they can do it after the master fuck up collection.

The matchmaking is lightning fast, but that ain't the most important part of the experience. It's time that they gave us the experience we deserve. It might also help to retain a playerbase outside of NA as well.

I've decided I like Warzone more than I thought I would, though certifications are annoying to not have yet (not sure I'll ever see another tank card at this rate).

What?

People keep quoting that, but all I'm reading is "I AM A GIGANTIC TOOL"

Well shit XD

I just don't like forge maps. Oh well.

About the radar. I'm honest I don't like it at all. I prefer the distance from halo 2 mp

To be fair, competitive play is more about maps, gunplay and teamwork. I like that style of gameplay and I don't like randomness myself. Just like I like baskeball, and other sports.

When you join a Warzone game halfway through on the losing side and still rack up more points that the second guy on your team.

:'(

Thank god these aren't ranked.

I know everyone says to not rely on radar, but I feel like it's nearly useless at 18m. You might as well just not use it at all.

Radar in Halo 5 has been toned down, but it can still be abused. Last night I was playing on fathom and a guy lowered my shields so I hid behind the giant silo like things in the corner. I saw on my radar that he pushed right to finish up his kill, so I went left and was able to get my shields back and I killed him. If radar was off I wouldn't have known which way he would have come and I more than likely would have died. So, as you can see it can be abused by a decent player.

I'm not for taking radar out of Halo entirely, but radar should absolutely be turned off for HCS and other competitive tournaments.

oh my sweet sweet summer child.

ha ha lol

And I agree. But in Arena, it's useless I feel. Only if somehow you get into a fight that's in melee range without getting shot to death is it useful, which might be the point now.

Yep. There are other ways to know about your surroundings. No need to stare at the radar any longer.

Fun playing with teammates who are either AFK or quit. The game clearly does a poor job of punishing these people.

I agree, nothing worse than a warzone match with quitters and the other team has like 4 vehicles. You don't want to quit so you need to suffer through it. I actually think warzone should be tweaked on scorpion spawns for example. If one team is loaded it's just a bad experience because the other team just quits.

Sure bud. I just saw a wall of text, saw it wasn't speedy who wanted to explain to me why he thinks he is a pro player and like Isaid thought "wtf"

Expailning why competitive players won't like the game. I thought someone was a pro the way you worded that....

I cant tell from "pro player' what

I thought you were serious.

It's completely useless in H5. The range is the shortest its ever been, in a Halo with the fastest gameplay ever and that makes zero sense to me. People are on me like a freight train, especially if they sprint, thrust, charge combo. You NEVER see that coming.

Just remove it at this rate, 343. It's nothing but a distraction. An obsolete tool.

i kind of like it when im getting kills on fathom cause people cant find me get the jump on them.

What exactly am I reading here. It's in another language I think.

I would add a skull that removes AI teammates, or one that makes it so no reviving at all (Not the very punishing Iron version already in the game)

Also the lack of mission scoring is saddening, especially when Halo MCC pushed that aspect forward more than ever

The campaign is created from the ground up to play with 4 characters, so this wouldn't work.

the scoring - I agree, but only due to the medals not popping up. I like those so I can see what I did and also to make sure I got kills across the map.
