So I went to check my preorder on Amazon and I have a ton of prime savings. Anyone else got this?

I get the 10 bucks off plus no tax. If I didnt already order it digitally, would go for it.

Are you regular prime member or student? Maybe regular comes with xtra savings.

Ok. It doesn't seem like a whole lot of area to walk around. The picture is probably making it look smaller than it is. Can i expect it to be like this when accounting for scale?

Yeah, something like that.

This is Fallout 3's map.

From the left, the two locations I circled are Megaton

and Rivet City

.

So you can get a sense of what that scale looks like on the map.

Now, assuming map grid squares are the same size, this is Fallout 3's world overlaid atop Fallout 4's world -

or in other words, the playable space should be just about twice as large as Fallout 3's (or about 3 times as large as New Vegas), and quite a bit more densely packed.

To be fair, it was pretty easy to have a surplus of ammo and resources in vanilla F3/NV.

got to say the very first thing I ever did in New Vegas was make the holdweight of the character 1000 I really hope they give you enough space because I'm getting the PS 4 version I won't be able to do that ....

Thanks for doing this. Wow, that is indeed big. I'm relieved. :)

If not too much asked could you grab few direct feed screenshots, non-spoilery? I bet quite few people getting console version would appreciate it, that off-screen crap gives awful idea about IQ.

I'll see if I can. Microsoft has the system in place to block captures from being shared until the publishers release date.

People are going to have a blast with the character creator.

I haven't played FO3/NV in a long, long time. Can someone remind me what the best way was to deal with obsessive hoarding? And along those lines, how will it be with this game? I don't remember being able to store stuff somewhere but I have to believe you could... right?

You had player houses to store your crap in. In FO4 you can dismantle all the stuff you don't need and craft new, shinier stuff with the materials! Or just store it again if you just prefer to hoard.

Ok damn...now i saw the map, but ah well, big deal. That does look like a lot of water yeah. But won't all of that contain shitloads of radiation? If so...how would
underwater exploration
be even possible?

Student but I buy prime at the 50% discount. Honestly it's most definitely a mistake on Amazon's part but it seems to be affecting multiple people. I'm expecting them to fix it before it ships.

Most likely since that one perk also stops water from causing you radiation and I suppose that's how you'd survive.

Maybe Project Purity spread to the Commonwealth Wasteland and somehow irradiated the entire coast.

I feel like I'm in the minority in loving FO3 and not loving Fallout NV. Either way, I'm excited for FO4 but probably will wait a few months to buy...unless the hype gets to me lol.

That's an awesome picture of FO3 map. Got me all nostalgic....

Tuesday cannot come soon enough.

The only option I'm seeing is an option to toggle the Floating Markers.

Sigh. Lackluster console options yet again. I wish more devs recognized that some people would really appreciate more HUD options. That's one thing I like about TW3.

Oh well, thanks for the reply. Guess I'm just gonna go with zero HUD & survivor difficulty.

HUD opacity, wow. That's new for me.
Yup, gonna tone it down to something like 25% or so.

Are the console versions the equivalent of Medium on the PC?

I don't think so.
Besides the lack of shadow distance on console versions, they're pretty comparable to the PC shots on the other thread. I'd say mostly on high settings.

nah you're not alone fallout 3 was my first game in the series, but I played it on 360 and also got all the Dlc with it put a good 150+ hours in it and it's the only game on 360 that I actually had gotten every single achievement and new Vegas I really liked it too but I didn't get any DLC but only because of the mods the mods really gave that game life because I got it on PC half the fun was tweaking ini files and finding new mods... but I ultimately liked fallout 3 more.

Hmmm that's interesting. I like the sound of that.

There's a perk that lets you breathe underwater

Holy cow, that pretty much confirms
underwater exploration?
even though it has not been officially confirmed, right?

Maybe Project Purity spread to the Commonwealth Wasteland and somehow irradiated the entire coast.

That's definitely possible too. Interesting theory for sure.

It would be nice if someone who's playing the game could actually confirm if the map is indeed about the same as Fallout 3/Skyrim.

F3 >>>>>>>> NV crew

played F3 first, and i think in the overwhelming majority of cases, whichever you played first, you prefer

i just loved washington DC so much more than the mojave

I played F3 first, and hated it. The story is so damn bad. I enjoyed NV because it's more in line with FO1 and 2.

Allegedly they are equivalent to PC's High preset. It's what I have been hearing anyways.

Tends to be an odd mix of low and high. Like high textures, low shadow and low AF.

PS4 version it is. Thanks guys.

Played F3 first. Fallout 3 was the game that really got me into the series (I always wanted to get into it before but could never get far in 1. I should have just skipped 1 and went to 2 honestly). The whichever I played first I preferred only lasted a little bit before I realized that New Vegas was most definitely better. I can't even say where I changed my mind. I think it's when I learned followers actually had quests that you had to unlock... that in itself impressed me so much on how much better that was. And how aweosme it was that a lot more thought was put into the followers.

Plus I enjoyed the shooting better. More skill checks so non combat skills mattered more. Better dialogue, I could go on. Factions/reputation were awesome <- and I was annoyed with the idea at first. Crafting was a lot more extensive/fun. Hardcore mode. Just a lot of stuff that added up to make it a far far far better game and a *far* better RPG more importantly (3 is a great game but a mediocre RPG). A lot of stuff I was skeptical at first but warmed up on (reputation, mods on weapons).
