Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

people want design changes more to remove what other people like about the existing ones and be like lololol PJSalt than to even appeal their own tastes

"We DnB now."

I mean half the 3S soundtrack was jungle. This is decidedly more modern, though.

3S soundtrack have so much personality! SFV ost seems flat... Ryu theme is too epic while Vega's one could not have that "epic" transition that is awful.

Loved "Kanzuki Estate" and Karin's theme though.

Ryu's theme is so great. It's like the vocalized theme of his SF2 but made for V. And without the vocals. Or maybe it's just me being reminded of it.

Nash's theme is amazing, too. Straight up reminds me of Alpha days, but mondernized. A little Dynasty Warriorsish in parts, but still great.

Birdie's theme is great, but still sounds a little Final Fightish.

Ken's theme has a slower start, but it's a decent remix. Feels a little safe though.

Necaili's theme sounds like something from Soul Calibur. Kept expecting BATTLE 1...FIGHT at the beginning. The rest sounds like a boss fight in a Capcom action game rather than a fighting game. It's pretty awful.

Vega's feels safe too, but it's elegant and suits him.

M. Bison's theme sounds like a reject from SFxT. IT's not bad, just in the wrong game.

I'm still not convinced Cammy's theme is from SFV. Seriously sounds like SF4 for the most part. Once again, not bad, just not the right game.

Chun Li's is alright. Never been the biggest fan of that theme but it's listenable.

Karin's is fucking funky as hell. Absolutely love it.

Rashid's is pretty cool, and Mika's is bombastic. They fit pretty well. And the stage themes are pretty on point, especially the training mode.

I still think his theme is better on CPS1. The new one is too "epic", and Ryu is not an epic character! It's so epic that sounds like Ryu vs Gouken...

I think that they tried too hard to make it sound a little bit "evil" but it sounds heroic. I

It's safe but it is good, EXCEPT that awful transition...

Oh I really hate the China stage song, it's awful.

I agree with you on the other comments (well, except that I actually like Necalli's theme).

China stage theme is one of those "so bad it's catchy" tunes like Pit Stop 109

Dururururururu durururururururu durururururururur dururururururu

Feel like I'm the only one that likes Bison's theme

Used to hate it, but decided to listen to it again and I appreciate it more. Vega's theme is the best though.

I don't think Capcom is going to exert any effort in licensing the Arika characters for SFV, particularly since they already have dozens and dozens of their own characters to utilize that aren't bogged down in legal red tape.

Neon Necalli. I like how the color changes his hair and the rest of his outfit isn't really that different (because there's not much outfit left to change).

Maybe it's because I'm not used to it yet but I find "super Necalli"'s hair very distracting in a fight, and those colors might just make it worse.

People who thin any particular character will/won't make it in for plot/canon reasons are delusional.

Capcom have stated before that they literally just make shit up game by game, and don't care about any kind of 'canon'.

He looks like a troll doll, lol.

I don't play Ryu, but if I did I would pick the Sean colors as a form of public awareness. We have Sean's colors, we have Sean's sister, Sean Season 4 2019 confirmed?

Ok, since nobody answered me before: is there any chance, based on Fan's possible multi-arm/tentacle data, that he/she will be an evil/alternate version of Necalli? Do his hair braids count in terms of polygonal skeletons in other words? Or are we still thinking he/she will be a South Asian monk or something (like I'm definitely hoping)?

Also, maybe I missed it, but did any of the leak data give us any info on any unseen stages and/or the promised weather/time of day effects? I'm still hoping we'll see 2 more stages, or ideally even 3 + training stage to make 12. Bison, Necalli and Rashid all still have art that is not found in a stage yet (assuming Birdie's art refers to an unseen underground section of the London stage), so if they plan on being consistent, there should at least be 2 or 3 more stages.

Edit: forgot my season 2 wishlist of 8, in random order:
- Cody (slightly redesigned to be less of a convict)
- Sean (slightly redesigned to be even less mature and less like a shoto; would make sense because of Laura and not having been trained by Ken yet)
- Necro (to have epic stretchy limb battles with Dhalsim)
- Oro (to fill the second old man character slot; possibly using 2 arms still and killing someone in his story mode, which leads to him binding one in III)
- Rose (seems to be too important story wise to be left out) or Dee Jay (slightly redesigned to be more music based)
- Fei Long (because we need a Bruce Lee inspired fighter) or Yun/Yun+Yang tag team combo (to fill the Kung Fu slot)
- New character using Pencak Silat as found in (the best martial arts movies in years) The Raid 1&2 (preferably one like Yayan Ruhian)
- New character using Muay Thai, ideally a pupil of Sagat (hence his own absence)

At the evo panel they mentioned there basically being a bible of sf lore in Japan that they draw from for each game that ties everything together.

No... Necalli actually has quite a bit more bones than Fan- 569. Yes that is because of his braids, although the braids aren't directly animated... but the high number I think is because of his transformation and a lot of hidden geometry we don't see until he pops V-trigger.

Fan is closer to Birdie in terms of bones. Fan has 477 bones, Birdie has 450. Birdie's bone count is mostly because of his chains and the need to be able to animate those chains manually.

In my opinion, she might be a Chinese ribbon dancer.

Thanks for clearing that up. I really appreciate all your effort in giving us this stuff!

Any insight on the stages part of my question, finally, from the data?

All hair after a certain length is pretty distracting in this game. The physics aren't implemented well in the slightest and it'd be a lot less jarring to look at if they kept Necalli's or Mika's shorter.

3S strike's soundtrack was amazing because of the amount of tech house there was in it. Fits so well in fighting games, and I honestly dont think other games have done it like 3S did :/
