Looking over the perks, seems to be inspirational level 2 is completely pointless?

"Your companion resist more damage in combat and cannot be harmed by your attacks".

If they are immortal why would it matter?

Probably they can still go unconscious. I think they just can't be permanently killed.

Here is the link to that 11 minute video of a person walking across the Fallout 4 map. MASSIVE MAP SPOILERS

I didn't look at it myself other than to verify what it was

As much as i want to watch this i'm gonna skip out, finding the new places in fallout is my #1 thing to do. But 11 minutes doesn't bother me, you could get from skyrims top to bottom really quickly.

Anyone know when PS4 preload goes up?

I would say this friday, i think that's when GMG gets their codes and the steam preload will be announced.

Because they can be harmed and KO'd in battle, they just don't permanently die.

I'm with you there. It would ruin the game for me but I figured some here might want to see it. Thankfully I managed to avoid seeing anything.

Are tthe file sizes of both console versions now confirmed? this site seems confused about it:

Last month, we already posted on how file size of the Xbox One version was revealed on the Xbox Store – 28.12GB of gaming goodness.

According to the Dutch and UK PS Stores, the PS4 version of Bethesda’s latest, weighs in at 26.2GB – 2GB less than the Xbox One version of the game. Interestingly enough, the Spanish, French, and German PS Stores, have listed the game with a hefty file size of 38.2GB

Not surprising at all. The multilanguage version contains Spanish, French, German, English and Italian Voice Acting, perhaps in the Netherlands they'll get the UK version that only has English VA.

Thank you, skimmed through it to avoid any major location spoilers.

Goddamn is that a huge map, considering that characters in games tend to run at Olympic sprinter speeds, the fact that it still took 11 minutes to get from point to point is impressive.

That little bit at the beginning showing how dense the locations are packed, bodes extremely well too.

Why does the Spanish VA sound like it's in 11khz?

This is the first direct feed video I've been able to properly judge the sound design with. Skyrim's sound was really basic and underwhelming, and from what I've heard so far this doesn't sound like much of an improvement. People like to focus on the visuals, but it's audio where Bethesda is really hopelessly behind their contemporaries. Any indie dev with a basic FMOD integration pretty much has way more advanced sound than what they use in their Gamebryo engine.

I hope the guide leaks early somewhere and we will get a detailed bobblehead location guide soon. Then I can haz all the stats!

The F3 guide is 460 pages big, the F4 guide 560!

Too me it looked very similar throughout with a small to medium sized town here and there. The landscape was what we've seen in screenshots so far.

Yeah, it reminded me a lot of the Wasteland design of Fallout 3 just with a bunch more scorched trees.

Granted, the person was more or less making a straight line across the map so maybe there is some more diversity, especially once you get to cities but the thing I adored about Skyrim and even New Vegas was how you had some nice diverse locations that still fit into the overall theme of the game. Like with Skyrim you had everything looking generally "northern" but within that you had the tundra plains, the icy glaciers and snow in the far north, the geothermal regions, the rocky mountains in the west, the green forests in the south, the white birch tree forests and so on. I loved that. Yet with Fallout 4, being set around New England / Massachusetts, I imagine everything is generally lots of burnt out forests and generally flat with maybe the occasional hill or mountain and maybe some coastal cities or beaches. I'm just having a hard time envisioning the terrain being super diverse. Of course they could add all sorts of crazy things to liven it up since its Fallout, I suppose.

So are bobbleheads the only way to add points to SPECIAL? I'm curious how they did them. If so, each bobblehead must be blank stats and you decide where to put it.

Have there been any previews or anything?

Seems like there's no info about missions or the quality of the world.

How much of the leaked footage have you seen?
Up to this point I haven't seen two indoor areas that looked the same. Which, considering this is Fallout we're talking about, bodes really well. I don't think I could ever say the same for Fallout 3, even if for comparison's sake I just pulled two random buildings out of the game's files.
And the commonwealth has woods, parks, plains, cliffsides, a radioactive desert, a marsh, coastlines, industrial and recreational docks, quarries, colleges, airports, baseball and football stadiums, an incredibly dense downtown with yet more city just across the river, neighborhoods, etc. etc. there's plenty of room for environmental diversity there

yeah, not a lot of stated info as of yet. The spanish leaker from a few days ago liked the missions and said the game is dense with content. Going by videos, especially of the downtown, it looks as though players will practically be tripping over dungeons, named locations, and shit to do.

SPECIAL bobbleheads give you +1 Stat corresponding to that bobblehead. The remaining
13
are unknown at that point, since the Repair bobblehead is still in, but no Repair skill.

There has been some info about missions and some aspects of the world looks/feels in the spanish thread. I havent bothered translating them though because i dont want to spoil people :P

still no third person sneak footage?

I have no clue. People who already have the game could enlighten us but they're too busy playing the game :P

No worries. Yes you can it has already been confirmed. If they did not allow points to be added to stats then you would be locked out of certain perks as soon as the game started. Each level you can choose a perk or +1 stat.

if that's the case I would assume the bobbleheads are there specifically to help out so you don't have to sacrifice perk points.

Based on impressions it seems to be a stable 30 fps with a few drops. The game informer article talked a little about this. Seems Bethesda aimed for the Destiny fps feel, so should be good.

The gunplay looks like some strange halfway point between Borderlands 2 and Wolfenstein TNO. So, really viable and fun looking, with a little bit of jank, mostly stemming from the occasional questionable hit animation (or lack thereof). Drastically improved over their predecessors. This is the first time I'm able to look at a modern Fallout game convinced that I can play it through, unmodded, without ever once falling back on VATs.
