The vast majority of Clinton supporters DO like Sanders. We just have zero confidence that he can:

A. Get the nomination
B. Get any of the shit he wants actually done.

Part B also applies to Clinton as well. How much do you think she's going to get done with a Republican controlled Congress?

I'll give you Part A.

Only if we can stop smoking long enough to get up and vote.

Lol

I read this some time ago and it seems like he can compromise and get some stuff done. I'm not counting the guy out and I like the fact that he wants to legalize weed.

I'm not voting for him, but I seriously appreciate everything Bernie's done in the race so far to spread the progressivist message to mainstream America. I hope a lot of democrats can learn from him in the future instead of going onto the whole pseudo-conservative bent a lot of them are stuck on.

Afro Man to remix his hit song with new lyrics:

I was gonna Feel The Bern
but then I got high

I was gonna make the world a better place
but then I got high

Now President Trump gave me 30 To Life and I know why -hi hii
Because I got high
Because I got high
Because I got hi--igh

La da da da da da daa

Some would rather vote for a more pragmatic candidate. The left can't really afford to take a risk this time around considering what is on the line.

Now you, you I'd actually believe if you were to say you like Bernie.

It's the people that spend all their time on GAF criticizing, and taking jabs at Bernie and his supporters at every opportunity that I don't believe. Especially since if you ask any Clinton supporter, she already won. You'd think they wouldn't even bother.

Not everyone can vote for a guy who might not win the general.

if afforded the opportunity hillary might not win the general either so..

at least bernie seems to be igniting passion among people who are generally jaded by the current political system

Mostly a political move on Bernie's part. Republicans are gonna kill this bill and Bernie probably knows this. That being said, I really hope it does pass, but I don't expect it will.

Politics always brings out the worst in people.

I have to agree, I'm sure that he has no real expectations for the bill to pass.

It's pretty pathetic that this is seen as something only Bernie can bring. Prohibition, criminalizing addiction, demonizing drug users instead of treating it as a health issue that needs to be addressed by specialists, support groups and society at large. This is a small step but it's a step thats especially important. A lot of the crime associated with drug use is mostly tied to the illegality of the substance. A lot of the dangers caused by drug abuse are at - similar to the dangers of depression. The two are intertwined and it's no wonder how many deaths anti-depression legal drugs cause. It's a health hazard that could be addressed with compassion instead of sneer.
Marijuana needs to be legalized because of it's inherent popularity and not being linked with any more severe side effects than people who eat unhealthy foods non-stop.
While other drug use, decriminalized and people who use drugs need to be given an alternative to addiction such as treatment.

Below is what Portugal has been doing for the last 14 years to combat addiction as a public health issue.

"The reality is that Portugal’s drug situation has improved significantly in several key areas. Most notably, HIV infections and drug-related deaths have decreased, while the dramatic rise in use feared by some has failed to materialise."

It's sad that Bernie Sanders isn't going that far and that media has been able to demonize drug users to such an extend. Especially when the entire drug war has always been also used for racial profiling and expanding the jail population with minorities.

Common sense needs to prevail but not while media is pushing news stories about some individuals with obvious serious health issues who probably made the worst possible decisions under the influence. There is tons of responsible adults that partake to utilizing illegal heights, and are not directly negatively effecting anyone else any more than someone eating their 7th Big Mac for the day.
