To those ordering the collector's guide from Amazon, I got an email maybe an hour ago saying that the collector's guide now has release date delivery and that mine has been upgraded free of charge (if you're a prime member). So yeah. If you were considering buying it but were holding off on it, now's the time.

And I really REALLY would recommend buying it for big rpgs like this. For the Witcher 3 that guide was a godsend. It pointed to me where all of the armor schematics I wanted were, gave you a recommended order to do quests, points you to cool locations, etc. Not to mention chances are there's a more visually appealing map of the world instead of having to look at the pipboy map with its simple graphics lol.

Hnnng. not sure to get the e-Guide or the physical. i mean physical is nicer but e-Guide is...more convenient.

I think the only thing holding me back from deciding whether I'll go Melee is if they have shit like swords and/or knives for my sneaky character. If it's going to be nothing but clubs and blunt weapons with like spikes on them, then maybe I'll hold off.

Never been big on e-guides. Physical will look nicer and you won't depend on your computer. You could be playing, need to read some quick info and just have the book next to you. Pause game, flip book open and find your info. For people playing in computers it's especially more so, you don't wanna have to minimize the game every time you want to look at something. I've always been able to find shit relatively painless from physical.

That's odd. Mine just got delayed - it was schedule for release day delivery and now it's not shipping out until the 13th

Well, I'd say the big initial choice is whether you'll be playing melee or not to figure out if you want to lean into STR at the outset since that impacts your melee damage.

Beyond that, I'd say you could spend the early game trying out what you can get your hands on, and just wait a bit longer to start investing in weapon-specific Perks (favoring other things like defensive or utility Perks, of which there are tons) until you figure it out.

As far as weapon choices, they're broken down by Perk groupings, so you have:

- Unarmed
- Melee weapons
- Automatic weapons
- Non-Automatic rifles
- Non-Automatic pistols
- Heavy weaponry
- Explosives
- Radiation weaponry

And then you have whatever secondary Perk investments to consider, such as melee, low-tech (firearms) or high-tech (energy) modification specialization.

Do all 21 initial points need to be spent at the creator screen or can I allocate them later

That's why you have two monitors!

I can't decide if I want to get the guide at all. On one hand, I do want to try and do everything. On the other hand, I kinda want to try and find all that stuff by myself, too.

Eh I've been trying to find shit by myself my whole life, I reached a point where I just don't have the time to look around every freaking corner. I won't be using the guide for regular exploration, but I'll read to see it for character bios, bobblehead locations, and maybe how to get unique/cool armor and weapons I want.

The cheaper one of the two didn't even have the option for release date delivery this whole time. I asked a customer service rep yesterday and he confirmed it.

That 22-23% code is only for Season Pass afaik, at least it's what email I got told me.

HW, movie and/or gaming industries never gave good reasons for PC market to invest into 60+ € BluRay drives. Those fuckers cost a lot and didn't give you anything in return, even movie playback was pure luck back then.

O really, hmm ok thanks guess I'll go home and preorder from GMG after work.

You have to allocate them all at the start, but after you've got a little taste of the game you'll get a chance to redistribute them all before heading out into the world.

I don't think the guide is all that necessary. The only things you need to know are the locations of stuff (bobbleheads, or unique weapons), which will be in the wiki within a day.

I completely agree. I see the guide as someone's account of their playthrough(s). I would like to know the bobblehead/magazine locations but everything has been a joy to explore and discover on my own terms.

True

Eh, fuck it, it's only ten bucks. Might as well get it. Got the Witcher 3 one too, didn't really use it much but it was so cheap I really can't say I regretted my purchase.

If I'm planning on playing it on very hard, I'm gonna need all the help I can get anyway.

The Witcher 3 didn't have a lot of the information online by the timetable I was playing it in. Including locations for armor schematics. Maybe Fallout 4 fans will put info like that faster, but information on how to obtain armor/weapons will take longer as fans won't even know about them until somebody obtains them and posts how to get it. I'd rather know what cool shit the game has to offer from the get-go and when to expect it.

Well, at least for bobble heads, you can expect them very soon. You already have 4 in the wiki and the game isn't even out yet.

I'm trying to replay Fallout 3 one last time, and it's just not appealing to be honest. I know something way better is right around the corner, and the flaws of the game are really evident.

I tried playing Fallout 3 and NV and they aged like crap. I cannot play them for the life of me, the color palette, jankiness and graphics are too bleh and ugly. This isn't an issue for me for other games, specifically for the older bethesda titles. Morrowing I could give a pass to since it's more artistically appealing. But Fallout 3 and NV don't do it for me.

I've been doing the same this past week and I'm actually enjoying it. PC mods help though. Part of me hopes that when I finally load up Fallout 4 the improvements will be immediately apparent.

In the time between NV and F4, I replayed and finished F3, F1 and F2. After F4 I will probably replay NV and maybe F4 in some years before F5 / spin off.

THE PLUG CAME THROUGH 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 can't wait to start playing tonight

anyone else with an early copy, is the back of yours entirely in Spanish? I hope this doesn't screw me over....the version of the game won't be different right?

No, doubt it very much. Enjoy buddy :)

I hope so hard it's in Spanish and you can't enjoy the game at all. So jelly. D:

JK, have fun you lucky bastard! Write down all bobblehead locations if you stumble upon one!

I'm getting the guide but I won't be using it to find bobbleheads and whatnot, I prefer to find them on my own.
Maybe once I've finished the game I'll go through it and see what I missed.

In the past 30 minutes or so, my Best Buy order went from processing to preparing. It wasn't like that when I checked after seeing previous posts about order being prepared in this thread.

@Bsigg12

I sent you a PM man. :)

Or are you simply not allowed to say?

Oh sorry I thought I sent that reply last night! I think it looks really good. It's missing some of the obvious PC specific features but by no means does the game look bad on the Xbox One. I would say it's close to the things you linked me to.

People are saying that many videos related to the game on the internet are getting trolled with major spoilers. This includes youtube, IGN, gamespot, and the like.

Avoid comments unless you want spoiled from here on out.

Sounds great to me man. Can't wait to finally play it. Thanks for replying. :)

Are there any skills left in the game? Is sneak only based on how many perks you have in it? Or is it like skyrim where the more you use it the better you get at it? Or is all of that gone from Fallout now?

Skills are gone, sneak is dictated by your agility and some of the related perks.

All perk/point based now. Forces you to think a little more before dumping points into something because you can't cheese mechanics to max them out.

It's all about Perks now. Check out this character creator if you want to see all Perks: http://www.nukahub.com/tools/special?s=3&p=4&e=2&c=4&i=8&a=1&l=6

Thanks, that's a little upsetting, I was hoping they had moved to a combo of earned skills through usage and Perks like Skyrim.

Edit:

Do we know if Armor/ Armor Mods will have modifiers like in Skyrim (something akin to Boots of Sneaking) to boost sneak?

Uhhhhh so just checked if they added pick up in-store for the sock/season pass bundle and now it says that the free shipping option will have your game delivered by Mon. 11/16.

Yeah, no.

I got the e-guide it cost me like £5 in the end, I'm more than happy to pay that especially when I can use it on my iPad.
