Tales from the Borderlands is fantastic. I had zero expectations and it ended up being by far the best Telltale game I have ever played.

So Austin's played;

1. Galak-Z
2. Invisible Inc.
3. Vermintide (with Vinny)
4. Star Wars Conquest (A Mount and Blade Mod)
5. Tales of the Borderlands.

If he reaches $10,000, he's going to show the list of what he is planning to play and let people vote.

All episodes are out and its available on iPad. Not sure how well it runs on there, but the game itself is amazing. I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for some great laughs and even greater characters.

All episodes are out. The first episode also is free now so you can check that out before buying. Haven't played the ipad version so I can't say how good it is.

I hear a lot of praise about this game, and I'm into this genre, but I have no interest in the Borderlands universe and I only finished Borderlands 1. Still not sure if it's something I should try out, knowing that.

I think this is a standard Tales From the Borderlands experience. I only ended up buying it because Game of Thrones was on sale alongside it, and now, here I am, in love with Tales and left in the cold by GoT. No previous knowledge or interest in Borderlands, and it still caught me good.

Also, I'd rank it with, or perhaps even above, TWD. Can't say enough good things about Tales.

Playing the other borderlands games isn't necessary. Obviously there are minor hints and nods, but the main players here are essentially new characters or characters that get their own major character arcs here.

Even if you have no interest in the universe, its the characters themselves that really make great.

I keep hearing it is engaging unlike Game of Thrones so I'll give it a shot on that basis.

You don't need any interest in Borderlands. It's what you would actually want out of Borderlands. It's clever, funny, and interesting without pounding you over the head with a Reddit hammer.

Alright, cool. I'll give it a shot; sounds like it would appeal to me too much for me to not give it a shot.

The intro song sequence to each episode are so great. They only get better.

I beat the game and had no idea you could die/fail. Austin has twice already lol.

ya'll seem pretty positive about tales from the borderlands but its like 90% of the chat is contractually obligated to hate everything vaguely related to this franchise.

i love it.

I like the people having the slow realization of "oh no, I kind of like this", as if it's against their original plan but they can't help themselves.

The 1st episode is available for free on PS4, if you're not watching the entire episode on the stream. Though making your own choices is important. I'd definitely check it out.

Can't watch in Germany because YT doesn't allow stream watching here. I hope not all the segments stream on YouTube?

The streams from the SF office will for sure be in the CBSi player, while Lang will probably stream in Twitch. On page 3 and 4 (I think) in this thread there's some tips on how to easily watch the stream on YT in Germany using a proxy though!

This whole series really surprised the hell out of me. Overtook Wolf Among Us for my favourite TellTale game.

Hell, watching Austin just play the first episode is starting to make me consider that it may be better than Life is Stange. When I compare of both the seasons as a whole, this may actually come out on top.

I dunno, I actually really like the world of borderlands and really like it as a series but am completely apathetic to anything related to its actual narrative.

Seeing the shift in chat from everyone doing their Jeffisms trying to out snark each other to unwillingly enjoying and wanting to play it was kind of cool.

Tales from the Borderlands looks super rad. It probably helps that it's more interested in telling a fun story than going the route of "All your decisions totally matter!
except not really
" that Game of Thrones went down.

If it helps, the humour is less meme-y than Borderlands 2. There's still references here and there but it's not random catchphrases and internet jokes.

It is too bad I just no longer can get past the Janky Stop Motion Telltale animation. I used to be OK with it, but it is the same with every single project that they do.

I mean the art style easily replicates that of Borderlands, but it is clear as day that it is a TellTale game.
