Giant Bomb - Extra Life 2015 | Give Money to Children's Hospitals

It is too bad I just no longer can get past the Janky Stop Motion Telltale animation. I used to be OK with it, but it is the same with every single project that they do.

I mean the art style easily replicates that of Borderlands, but it is clear as day that it is a TellTale game.

It definitely looked better in the Borderlands style than it did Walking Dead or Game of Thrones.

Tales from the Borderlands looks super rad. It probably helps that it's more interested in telling a fun story than going the route of "All your decisions totally matter!
except not really
" that Game of Thrones went down.

yeah i kinda like the fact that instead of it being about your decisions being super important its about your decisions potentially making the funniest joke at that particular moment.

I don't know how to feel about these sorts of charities. If this is for hospitals or for actual care, I'd much rather see socially provided resources (single-payer/socialist) support than individual charities raising money.

If it's toys for sick kids, that's awesome, since the state shouldn't be expected to provide toys (at least not yet).

It honestly felt your decisions mattered more then some of the other games in the genre despite there not being as much of a focus. It's one of the many reasons it is a much more enjoyable series.

That was my favorite part. It still had some of the decisions -> consequences effect of most recent teltale games, but 90% of the time I just chose the option that looked like it'd be hilarious to see played out.

Sure. But look at all the other games doing the TellTale thing. For all the lip synching issues in LiS, their animations don't look like they are composed of 3 keyframes.

They have a FAQ on their website for any questions you might have about their charity.

Damn, all this praise for Tales. I've had zero interest in it, despite overwhelmingly loving Wolf and TWD (s1 more than 2 anyway). Will have to pick it up soon and play it.

LiS also has a great interface for those sorts of games when it comes to using items and things that I reckon Telltale should steal.

That's great I guess, but how does that feeling help children's hospitals working within the current system?

I should probably nap but breakfast starts in an hour and I'll probably just go get some and grab a big Redbull.

You know, for the kids.

Zenmate worked great for me.

Once the stream is running you can disable the extension again. You don't have to use it the whole time.

If it is something that prevents you from donating, could you consider using the event as an impetus to donate to a charity you do support?

You know I got excited that Far Cry 2 was actually kinda high up on that poll (I voted for it) but then I realized most people are probably putting it as a joke post.

I think Far Cry 2 is sweet ):

God damn... I want to watch Austin go through this insanity of WotS4 but I really need to fucking study. Must resist!

I think you're asking the wrong question. Can you help some children/families in need?

I mean, that's the conundrum, right? There is no question that it does, but a lot of charities actually do support unjust systems as they allow the status quo to continue. They alleviate symptoms instead of addressing problems.

Unfortunately, there is no real doable alternative that wouldn't lead to profound suffering in the first place. So yeah, I tend to go the route of supporting charity. Even though I'm kind of ambivalent about it.

Whatever, this is not really the thread to discuss this thing I guess. Let's make this year's extra life a success!

What did Austin think of Tales From The Borderlands? I'm in the UK so I was asleep when he played it
