Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

I kinda prefer arena being all ranked and Warzone being the scrub playlist. I'm def the minority on this tho
I'm ok with this, but I feel there should be social playlists as well.

Maybe just two social playlists: Social Slayer and Social Obejective. That way there is social for people to get most out of the game, and with just two playlists it wouldn't fragment the player base that much.

Warzone should stay as it is.
If they start with competitive bollocks and KD shit its gonna be boring as hell.

Need social big teams tho

The game needs a social playlist, no way in hell im playing with some friends in arena
,while i would just chill with them in a social playlist.

Just mirror some of the arena options with social and have more fun modes in them
like infection etc

Just quietly, how many cards do the Gold/Silver/Bronze have each?

Like..I wanna say Gold has 12, Silver has 8? Bronze has 6? Or is it random?

Just bought a bronze. 9

Haven't played Halo MP for a few years until Halo 5. I can't believe that in this day and age Halo remains the only game where I am constantly stuck in unbalanced 4vs2 matches that last forever. Does it say somewhere in their franchise manual that that's part of the Halo experience, or why are they never fixing it?

what would you have them do? you can't force people to stay in games, and forcing other to join in progress into bad games where they are definitely going to lose isn't fair.

so, what's the solution?

I don't really know, maybe bigger teams only? Really I can't think of amy other game that suffers of this problem. And Join In Progress isn't really that bad in other games either

Why is the enemy team marked as Team Red in the killfeed, while they are actually Team Blue? This was so confusing over the whole match...

I noticed this already when media/pros had early access.

Its not that they are marked as Team Red.

Enemies, no matter which team, are marked in red.

Anybody run into this? I played some co-op campaign and then hopped on multiplayer and now all bodies on my screen don't ragdoll anymore. They just do the flipping animation and then land in the same pose every single time. Every body. It's not game breaking in terms of gameplay but its like bugging me haha.

This is what I'm talking about:

I feel like I get nothing but Rig and Plaza. I haven't played Fathom in so long.

No fucking joke, whats the damn weighting? It's the two worse maps and I get them ALL the time.

Halo is not a join in progress game. The only solution is to not penalize players when they are down a man and lose.

That being said, I ranked up to platinum 4 and lost in 2v4 match and went back down to 3. This needs to be fixed.

it's because Halo players actually care about their stats. CoD is for way more casual players, in my opinion.

Arena has been decent for me today, fun and tense matches overall. They need to change the spawn timers for Active Camo and Overshield though, they spawn too fast and battles turn into cluster fucks. Also, power ups do not need to be on every map.

Couldn't disagree more, 2 minutes isn't too fast, and they can completely change the tide of a game, just as they should be doing.

-Quitting loses REQs
-You must press a button to continue searching for a match a la Splatoon. This removes AFK players
-You don't lose rank if you lose an unbalanced match
-Have a more interesting variety of maps to keep people playing more often

Third one being the biggest, because that's just fucked.

Just no.
No freakin way im losing my REQ for random D/C and whatever else shit going on server side that give me a ban penalty.

Yup. Sometimes I forget about their spawns and rightfully get steamrolled because of it. Maintaining Power-Ups is very important in this game, and is one of the many reasons why I love Halo multiplayer.

That's definitely a possible problem with it. But right now there's no penalty of quitting the occasional match besides a rank down you might've just gotten anyways, so there's no reason not to do it.

It feels like people are abusing it because it respawns so fast. I’ve seen matches where the whole team is just camping to get the Camo and then go camp in corners or at enemy spawn to get some cheap melee kills.

Yea, every time I've gotten really steamrolled, it's usually because my team has made no plays on the OS, lol.

How is 2 minutes too fast though? It's like 4 times a match most times? If people are camping the spawn, nade it. Communication is key for taking out camo, and if the people you're playing with are camping a corner with camo, they're not doing much of anything with it to begin with, heh.

Well the third option is also bad.

Go with 4 man fireteam, have friend quit to make unbalanced and 3 other save rank.

-Don't derank people if they're in an uneven game
-Give people a surrender vote
-Make it so people that are ranked gold don't get matched against freaking Champions and Diamonds (seriously this keeps happening to me, I'm Platinum and I keep getting matched against Champions and Diamonds with nothing but Golds on my team. They need options like in KI where you can choose to only play against people in your own ranking)
-Give people a quit penalty on Req points and give people a good consecutive match bonus of Req points.

This is a slippery slope because in a party of 4, if losing, you could have a fall guy who quits out to protect everyone's ranks.

God im horrible in slayer D:

Don't lone wolf mate and always pick your prey. Follow a team-mate and help him the best you can. That's how I learn to play back then (Halo 2), I'm not pro level but I'm quite hard to kill in slayer and I almost never lose a duel now. Take me some time though, Halo is hard.

Ah, and keep moving. Camping is asking for being killed in H5.

True, but I think the chances of that becoming a wide spread problem are small in comparison to the amount of matches that people (in my own experience) get put into that are decided merely from the split of teams.

What to do if a team member quits...

The team member who leaves gets an insta 12 death penalty added to their stats on top of whatever they had going on in the game to that point.

Next, we take 1/2 of that guys shield power and we split that over the remaining players as over shield to compensate for the loss of a player.

Problem solved.

I usually play solo. Not to say that I haven't had matches where my team was on point and dominated the Power Weapons and Power Ups, but even then it feels pretty cheap.

But it’s ranked, so I should not really be complaining that much :lol

I'm just failing to see how a powerup is anymore "cheap" than a rocket launcher or sniper...

It's nice to have actual timed powerups after the garbage from the last few games.

I don't play Halo MP, but looking at some of the horrible suggestions in this thread it's a wonder that so many people think they have any right at all to say that it's 343i that has no idea what they're doing.

Give escalating penalties for quits in a certain amount of time, like League does. Go from like 5 minutes to 10/20/30/etc, with the potential for deranking and loss of REQ points as well. At the very least you shouldn't be able to rejoin queues until the game you left is finished. Quitting's a pretty big issue in Halo, and for a competitive game, it's unacceptable.

At the same time, there should be some other measures in place to help false positives, e.g. the DCing issue I and others have seen. You should definitely be able to rejoin a game you've left.

Because experience is a bit shit in that aspect, and has been for years?

I feels like I can counter Power Weapons more effectively than Power Ups. Power Ups promote more camping behavior, in my experience, which leads to cheap kills. With Power Weapons, I rarely feel like it wasn’t my fault (The visual markers also help that); I was maybe to aggressive or I just didn’t pay attention to my surroundings.

Doing a quick count off a youtube video-
Gold packs contain 15 cards
Silver contains 12(?)
Bronze contains 9

So it's definitely worth to do Silver packs for the certifications and then golds for everything else.
