Has ps4 preload started?

Not yet.

Cool ranch?

What else would it be?

That sounds awesome. I'm going on lockdown as well. Usually avoid Doritos but... yeah I think I'll grab some for the first day.

I told my mom to wipe the crumbs from my mouth and ready my poop sack when necessary.

By basement you mean vault right?

I took down my DO NOT ENTER sign for a blownup jpeg of a vault.

Actually, it's impossible. Reading the Lockpicking perks on NukaHub, it seems like locks above your skill level are completely unpickable until you have upgraded the perk.

What?! This sucks! One of the things I loved about the other ones was spending a ton of bobbypins on locks you really shouldn't be able to do. So now it sounds like they pretty much removed any skill element (no pun intended) from it. They sure do make some questionable design decisions.

I could swear you couldn't pick locks above your skill level in FO 3 but I might be mistaken.

That's how it worked, yes.

Maybe I'm completely misremembering, but I thought you could. They at least let you pick ones that were high enough level that you could go through 20 picks getting it open.

That's not how lockpicking works. Harder lockers required more effort, but if you exit the lockpicking it resets the the pin so it wouldn't break.

I know that's how Skyrim worked. I once used 60 lockpicks opening a Master lvl chest when I had put no points into lockpicking!

This game is dripping with atmosphere. I'm loving it. Also really glad that the standard gunplay is actually smooth enough to enjoy now, although I still use VATS more.

And LOL at the bright red blood spurts. Looks so silly.

This isn't true. In both Fallout 3 and New Vegas you had to have your Lockpick at certain thresholds to be able to attempt a lockpick.

Elder Scrolls doesn't work this way, though, which may be what you're thinking of.

You couldn't. I remember this cause there was this toy house you needed a skill level of 100 that was in the town with the sniper and the mines that when I first found it I was insanely curious what was in it but my skill was not high enough. . Much later in the game when I had high enough skill I came back and was disappointed it was random crap in it (if they are going to make it 100% put something neat in it damnit!). Maybe the person you replies to was remembering Skyrim where it was supposedly harder if you didn't have the perk or what ever the equivalent was called in Skyrim.

If I'm understanding this right he seems to be boosting stats via console commands, so not so invested it seems.

Lol I see. So he's ruined the game by himself? I understand why he wanted to restart now.
I also remember that he used console command to enable god mode the other day.

I will say that whatever city he's in feels like a city this time instead of a bunch of tiny little office buildings like in FO3. There's much more verticality.

That was for the new character he went with for a few minutes. He's switched back to his earlier character and I have no idea if he's tampered with that one though.
