Where's the info for me to look into making my build? I haven't done that and I'd like to have it planned out so I don't have to worry about that during gameplay. Though I'll have no idea of my build will be good i never know with these games.

There is also a regular NukaCola edition.

Edit: note the Vault Boy pattern on the garment.

haha amazing, that artist has some other great mashups

Has twitch given up on banning fallout 4 streams? There a bunch of them going on right now.

It's just Twitch. They say that streaming game X is no-go and results in bans, then they ban person here and there when they feel like it every now and then. Even Pete Hines [Bethesda PR person] poked at Twitch about being shit in banning FO4 stream.

I mean in like 99% of all multiplats PS4 will be the version that runs better.

Might be the exception to the rule this time. Someone in this thread states the press kits for reviewers contain the Xbox one version of the game.

You would think Bethesda is sending the best performing version to be reviewed. I'm assuming it's a destiny situation and they are on par with each other.

Idk what kind of performance issues you're looking for but I am about 12 hours in and haven't noticed anything big at all. Sometimes the game halts for a second when accessing a terminal or saving, but those are few and far between.

Frame rate wise I have been in tight areas with lots of enemies and didn't notice any issues. Pop up happens sometimes in the bigger cities, though I haven't been to the biggest ones, so there might be issues there.

Overall it looks great and plays great, I have been very impressed.

Game is looking good (really high amount of grass and stuff) . LOD and shadow drawing distance is bad though but I don't think this is a big problem. Performance seems more or less stable. Don't know if it's mostly 30 fps. Could be less but it's playable and nowhere near as bad as unity or skyrim on PS3.

Good to hear it's stable with no major hiccups. I'm assuming you guys are playing on physical. Got mine preloaded for Tuesday..

Keep the impressions coming guys, much appreciated.

Interesting information I found on Reddit:
Recorded non-player dialogue: Fallout 4: 85k lines | Skyrim: 60k | NV: 65K | Fallout 3: 40k
Recorded player character dialogue: Fallout 4: 26k lines

Well, the press kits is expected since Bethesda currently has a deal with Microsoft. Don't think it means much as far as the better version goes.

Gotta make sure I set VPN before I go to work tomorrow, and then I'll connect remotely and sign off Steam to prepare for later tomorrow night. Shit it's so close!

Why would they send a version of the game with issues for review? I hope the Xbox one version will be fine. I couldn't decide between ps4 and Xbone so I'm praying for parity.

I'm nervous about preordering the xbox version if it has issues I guess I'll send it back to Amazon and get the ps4 version.

What's everyone going for starter build?

I think I was going to spend my downtime today figuring my build. I'll probably change my mind come Tuesday though.

I always try to make my character look like me first playthrough, so I'm actually going to the lengths of printing off photos and using tracing paper so I have more defined features for the creator. Never seems to look very accurate though, especially with Bethesda games where the player models don't actually look like people.

Most accurate results have been the Saint's Row games actually.

would go the vpn route just dont want to get popped by steam no reason to risk it just gotta wait til monday at 9pm yup i can do that
You won't get popped by Valve on this at all. VPNs are perfectly fine to be used in this instance.

The thing people get this mixed up with is that you can not buy Steam games with a VPN.

High int and roughly 4s (besides end at 1) for quicker XP gain, then will get 6 in charisma for local leader before work luck and agility. May push to get aqua boy in end too if that turns out to be useful.

Question, do criticals only happen while using VATS? I was reading the perk descriptions in luck and it seems to only apply to VATS. If I just shoot manually, do crits still happen?

What do you guys think, can it top Skyrim's Metascore? I just checked and was surprised that it's at 94. I don't care that much for reviews, but it's interesting to see how it will stack up to the other Bethesda RPGs.

^ you are completely fine by just starting Fallout 4 as your first game in the franchise. However I recommend you to watch this 5min video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyJbSxpjrf8

I'm predicting a 95 or if things go bad a 91-92

As someone who never touched fallout 3 would it make more sense for me to play it first? It would be console.

Don't bother if thinking FO3 only as prep for FO4. All Fallout games have independent stories and locations, and FO3 is full of jank without mods that are available only on PC.

Edit: Fallout 4 is Twitch's number #8 atm, amounts of viewers and game streamers is only going up. Twitch doesn't give a fuck anymore or no admins working on Sundays?

Skyrim is a more simple and widely attractive world to sell I think. Swords + dragons + big world to explore. Fallout is a bit of a harder sell.

That said, they're marketing the hell out if it. My Dad's videogame experience is limited to playing Doom, and he'd heard of it when I mentioned it was dropping this week.

No way.

I prefer fallout to ES games btw.

Casuals eat up that fantasy stuff

Was wondering this as well. Are sneak attack bonuses just damage multipliers or do they count as crits? Might be worth investing in the better criticals perk if they're counted as crits.

Guns harder to sell than swords & sorcery? Eh, I disagree.

Anybody know how the stash system will work? Will there be like a storage bin next to workstations where we can store six hundred pounds worth of screws and adhesives and so on?

Unless you are GTA, it would require something significant than just bigger, better and badder to reach the high mark of metacritic. GTA has always had the insane production value on their side. One can only imagine if every other AAA were spending that much more money in their respective sequels.

I don't know, it just seems like a "story" more ingrained in the social sphere really. It lets you essentially play out the "hero with a sword against a dragon" you hear from a kid. It's not "harder to sell", I just think the world is more instantly recognisable.

Nah. Skyrim was pretty well received right at the start. This game is already heavily divided. I'll go with 88-92. Still going with 91 though if I had to pick a number.

This always comes up at launches like this, but as far as I know no one has ever been banned because of this before. Really doubt they care

OK I figured as much but never asked.
