Isn't it a bit less than 24 hours now?

When it's 12PM CET it's 1PM for us vikings... :D

My interest in buying this game now is contingent on Digital Foundry analysis at this point. It was Skyrim on PS3's technical issues that got me to stop playing, though I struggled through much of it. Depending on how it performs I feeling like it might be worth waiting for stability patches.

Can someone explain to me why Steam gives me two separate days?

I'm in Finland so 1d 12h from now would be 3am on 10th so bottom date is the right one?

It seems like most people already have their build done and whatnot. Is there anyone else that will be just jumping in and not worrying about min/maxing? I'll probably just make an average character my first playthrough without going one extreme or the other.

I am just playing it by feel. No need to overthink this build stuff imo.

I didn't really think most things through. But I think I will max out everything anyways so it doesn't matter. I wonder how long it will take though.

Steam is big dummy, that is why. It's 12:01AM on 10th for every region. EU is divided into three regions [East - Central - West]. If you VPN it then you get 11h head start.

P.S. Nice to see more Finnish bros on GAF ^^

So I have been playing this the past few days on PS4. I managed to snag it from Media Markt here in Germany.

Really loving it so far, but the PS4 version does not run well. Seriously intense frame drops (I'd wager below 20) during combat and random chugging when the game is loading new areas. It's not a huge deal for me, but if I was seeing this kind of performance on a PC, I would feel the urge to upgrade my system components, because I know this is not how it's intended to be played.

Hopeful a future patch smoothes things out.

Thanks man! I think I'll consider VPN'ing a head start like I did with Skyrim all those years ago. Will take days off from school so that's not a problem to start at 00:01 but I got a dentist appointment the next morning lol

:-)

Any impressions for Xbox One? Performance wise?

I'm also wondering if I change region would I be able to play this sooner :P?

Idk what kind of performance issues you're looking for but I am about 12 hours in and haven't noticed anything big at all. Sometimes the game halts for a second when accessing a terminal or saving, but those are few and far between.

Frame rate wise I have been in tight areas with lots of enemies and didn't notice any issues. Pop up happens sometimes in the bigger cities, though I haven't been to the biggest ones, so there might be issues there.

Overall it looks great and plays great, I have been very impressed.

Game is looking good (really high amount of grass and stuff) . LOD and shadow drawing distance is bad though but I don't think this is a big problem. Performance seems more or less stable. Don't know if it's mostly 30 fps. Could be less but it's playable and nowhere near as bad as unity or skyrim on PS3.

Damn, that's disappointing, I thought it would be okay to buy a Bethesda game on PlayStation this gen. If the dips are that low it could take a while for a patch to correct performance.

Jim Sterling @JimSterling
I hope some of you still like to read. My Fallout 4 review is one of my lengthiest in a while.

Very cool to hear that Jim has went to town with FO4, and that has resulted in long (and in-depth) review. Can't wait to read his review, I have him way above major sites.

I'm typically hot or cold when it comes to Jim Sterling. He gave Deadly Premonition a 10/10. I love me some Twin Peaks inspired videos games, but that review will always stick with me.

To anyone playing the game. When I scrap a whole building do the resources I receive include the resources from items that were in the building before you removed it?

And what is the exclamation mark saying next to the crafting stations in the pip boy.

Another finnish bro here reporting for duty! The wait is unbearable at this point.

Does Jim still do written reviews?I mean apart from this Fallout one.
I thought it was just videos from him theses day.Which I can't be arsed watching.
I did use to like reading his reviews though.

Still conflicted on rolling a male or female character since the female apparently has the better voice actor.

Well actress is same who did VA for Jack in Mass Effect games, so I think answer to your question if obvious. Female character, all the way.

I think it's cool that you can disagree with reviewer and still stick with him, and keep reading his stuff. Too many people fully ignore reviewer and/or certain reviews just because they disagree with that particular opinion.

Oh yes, he never stopped.

I'd forgotten reviews are coming tomorrow. Should be very entertaining. Will Digital Foundry have an article Monday as well?

The bad reviews, negative comments and overall "anti" hype for this game still havent effected me whatsoever.

Theres something about this game that excites me, the world seems so open and mysterious and im excited to just walk around looking at stuff and enjoying the world they've put together.

I think this game is going to be similar to The Witcher 3 in terms of attention to detail in the environment and hopefully i'll be able to get immersed into it and enjoy it regardless of others opinions on whether the graphics are shitty or not - and thats all that matters, why do people forget that?

Does anybody know why the Store in the Steam client stays based on my actual region (UK) when I'm using the PIA New Zealand VPN? When I go to http://store.steampowered.com/ instead, that shows the currency in NZ Dollars.

This doesn't happen with other regions. If I pick Netherlands the currency changes to Euros in the Steam client.

Does this even matter for the unlock? Just got me wondering to see if there's anything to fix.

I can't believe that it's here in a bit over 20 hours. Seems so surreal after the struggle of the last two weeks, which were almost unbearable. I think my F5 button is on the verge of breaking. Just one more night... it will be glorious.

Gee

Amazon delayed my pip boy edition from Tuesday to Thursday.

Then I asked whatsup. They said they sold out of it (Which we know of) but how is that connected to my order being delayed? I'm kind of worried now but customer service "upgraded" my order back to Tueday one day shipping.

idk.

Those last two weeks went by really fast. I still almost can't believe it that we are getting a new Fallout tomorrow
