My plan is to explore every location and do every quest.Let's see what level I will have gotten to by then. But unlike most of the people here I'm going to max out my SPECIALS first. I don't really care for perks.

That will be impossible if you don't activate some perks. I guess you will need at least Hacking, Lockpicking, and Aquaboy. I also guess you might need some charisma related perks to activate certain side-quests.

Looks pretty much identical to my build. I thought of stopping charisma at 3 points to get the lone wanderer perk and then adding a few more to luck and agility though.

Frankly the lone wanderer perk doesn't seem worth it at all. It only gives +25% extra damage at the highest level, rather take a companion with inspiration any day of the week I'm fairly sure

Unless it's for RP, I guess?

Yeah I already put 2 points into the lockpicking and 1 into the hacking perk. But the rest, let's see.

I just realised Blacksmith is only needed if you're going melee based. So I can save a point in Strength. The Luck perks do seem interesting so I'll add a few there I think.

Mainly wanted it to increase my carry capacity and reduce damage to offset low strength and endurance stats.

Bad guy from Fist of the North Star build, melee heavy build using idiot savant for massive XP gain and attack dog to distract foes

This build really grabbed my attention going through this thread, so I think I will play with this one. Being my first fallout game, really excited for everyone's thoughts on the game tomorrow (and I can't wait to play it!).

Going by past fallouts, the companion should have PLENTY of carry capacity, and dogmeat does some haulin as well. More than enuff between those in terms of carrying stuff

Anyone care to explain to me what the best build is, if you want to play as solo (or with 1 companion) and focus on shooting with guns?

Bahaha ok buddy. Have fun over analyzing everything. I'll be having a blast playing this.

Common sense is now over analyzing? Whooooo boy...

Don't worry, buddy, pal, I'll be having fun with the game in less than 24 hours, too! I can use my brains and have fun at the same time.

Damnit Funstock emailed me saying I wont get my code until Monday. Who knows what time monday that will be :( Looks like I aint playing until Tuesday night

From TCG:

We will be sending all UK orders with Royal Mail First Class and the statistic that they proudly state is that 93% will arrive next day, so we're still very confident that we can deliver it on the release date.

Hmm so they're relying on Royal Mail. Sneaking suspicion I won't be playing this Tuesday.

If this guide is correct then yeah you can.

100/100/240 seems like a good jumping off point.

That is not a starter build or a jumping off point.

-edit-

Oops. I forgot that 1 in all points are always assumed. So much for being a self proclaimed fallout fan.

I also understand now that the highlighted means that you can level the perks up... not that you did.

That is not a starter build or a jumping off point.

It clearly says that at lvl 1 you start off with 21 stat points and 1 perk and when you level up you either add a point to stats or add a point to perks. You wont be able to reach that point/ perk spread until lvl 34 (or maybe 27 if stat bobble heads are limited to 1 stat point each and you find them all).

They're talking about starting with a 4 in every SPECIAL stat, which is possible (21/7 = 3 plus the one by default), not perks or anything like that

The perks being green just means that you can get them the next time you level up

Short question about the dog...
So, my gf sent the dog away but now she's unable to find him again. Is there any way to call the dog or whatever? She said she sent him to Sanctuary, but she can't find him there.
