Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

OMG I'm so sick of randoms in Warzone Assault. Less than a minute into the game and the attacking team already has the garage half captured because my team is sitting back at our spawn and trying to snipe the attackers in the garage with pistols. Like, WTF.

The only consolation to your team sucking in Assault is that the match is going to be over very quick.

CTF in this game is really great.

Marking the flag carrier temporarily with damage is great for non-communicating randos.
Having the pistol and the ability to drop the flag is sweet too.
Flag tossing is awesome.
The fast return times are great too.
CTF on Coliseum or Truth are the two best things in this game.

Currently using a Comcast Arris TG862G modem and router.

In the threads I have been reading, some people had mentioned that the Arris hardware is just no good.

Anecdotally I have heard the same thing. You might try to get Comcast to replace the modem with a different brand, and purchase your own router.

Also if you can switch to a wired connection that will help a ton as well. Tons of things can cause intermittent WiFi problems.

Finally finished this last night and let the impression simmer for a bit. On legendary may I add, solo, not to be too badass.

HOLY the magnetic boots segment down the Guardian was so cool. I groundpounded my way down that mother, hovered with the smart-aim shizzle. Was great.

I would have no qualms with this campaign being mentioned along side bungie's 1-3, doesn't quite reach the heights of Halo Reach however (in terms of story and mood). However the it is easily the best playing of the Halo games, everything felt smooth and intuitive, and DAT feel of 60fps was evident.

The final osiris mission fell a bit flat for me, the final Chief mission was great however.

With regards to the story, was it really as bad as the gaming press made it out to be? I think not. It was evident, especially from the ending, this was a stop gap in-terms of story, tidying some of the mess of Halo 4 and building up to something I am excited for.
The infinity on the run from Cortana, jumping randomly, gave me some Battlestar galactica vibes - I liked it and look forward to seeing how it develops.
I would like the major focus of 6 to be the Chief however, more Buck would also be cool, alongside some Arby and Chief moments.

The online is the most fun I've had with Halo online. Digging breakout and warzone/

True, but still, I would def be more on board with doing that if I noticed issues elsewhere. But it's only halo 5.

I guess if I never solve the issue I'd have to consider doing that (dealing with new hardware), but I feel like I shouldn't have to if it's just for one video game.

I could try a wired connection just to test out of curiosity, but it's not a feasible solution given how things are set up.

If I were bouncing all over the place in say, Destiny, then I'd know for sure it has to do with WiFi or something like that.

Frank/David/Josh - are you guys looking at the random disconnect bug? I've had it off and on since launch, and it seems it's happened to others here as well. Really frustrating. Haven't had issues with any other game, just H5.

Not sure why, but halo 5 is the only game I play where I experience lag.

Tried other games, nothing. But once I start Halo 5 matches, lag.

I've been researching the issue, and I see threads in various places where others are having issues as well, but I'm not sure if it's a large enough issue where 343 has eyes on it.

I really want to like the game. I really want to PLAY the game. But for whatever reason, it just doesn't work. All my other games are fine. Connection is fine. I just don't know.

I am sort of having the same issue. The past few days have been on and off. Some matches will be laggy (shots not registering correctly) and others will be butter smooth. I don't know if it is on my end or Halo 5's. My ISP is Time Warner Cable and they do suck, but speed tests say that my connection is fine 36Mbps down and 6.18Mbps up with 0% packet loss (when tested in between matches).

I can see a clear difference between a smooth match and one where some of my bullets do not register correctly. And obviously I can tell when I miss my shots. Not all of my matches are laggy, probably not even close to half. Most of the problem is quitters (making Solo Matchmaking a nightmare), although my team and I had a glorious comeback on Coliseum earlier after being down in a 3v4.

Is it me, or am I the only one getting shot after taking cover?
I find myself getting shot when taking cover, like, on their screen Im still out in the open.
Im talking about MP ofc.

Did skill matching just stop working or something today? All my games today have been stomps. Just finished one particularly fun game where my teammates went a combined 9-41, holy shit. One dude dropped an 0-15 bomb.

What happened

There are elements out of the system/matching control e.g. I let my son or misses or brother/friends play sometimes.

Man that Fred concept armor looks amazing. The in-game Centurion looks ridiculous in comparison. Additionally, I'd have liked all of Blue Team to have a more Mark IV/V/VI look, all green armor as well, or variations of green.

Yes, I could play Truth CTF 24/7.

It's a console exclusive

Doesn't have a big stream following in the first place. The most popular streamer is Ninja and he is just a Halo niche guy.

And people just not care for it.

Summit gets 15-20k viewers. Every time he streams Halo he is always under 10k.

The way I see the whole Twitch thing is that - on top of Halo fading out the public sphere and being "difficult to get into" - the games haven't been interesting to watch for a very long time. Out BRing people just isn't cool anymore. There aren't many personalities in the community that can sell the game either.

Halo 5 at least has potential to "please the crowd" with the Pistol start and new movement abilities, but the maps are lagging behind in that regard.

When you're watching any other game, it's either for the "trick shots" and clutch plays, or the strategy. Halo in recent years has not excelled at any of those, and it's only in the serious competitive games where that experience shines.

Console exclusive will explain it belong lower than multi plats, but not as low as it is.

I think the fact that PS4 also probably has double the number of consoles sold makes a difference as well. Xbox One is just not as popular this gen, especially outside NA/UK. Halo as a premiere IP is also in decline. I'm shocked that what was the killer app for Xbox, I know a lot of Xbox One owners who haven't bought the game yet, waiting till Christmas or for a sale.

Idk what the hell has happened but today were some of the worst Halo games I have ever played, I'm seriously hating AR/pistol starts to the point where I don't even want to play this game anymore.

I think Halo 5 is actually very good. Campaign was satisfying on Heroic, and the Arena multiplayer maps are just great. Definitely a step up from ODST, Reach and 4 - nearly Halo 3 caliber.

So this happened to me today. A fairly intense game, I started off pretty weak, died many times. Then this one time, I got killed by an enemy DMR and I could have sworn I blew up, and there was no enemy in sight.

Here's what the in game DVR revealed:

I scanned the environment and looked at his angle, there was no enemy anywhere there.

Didn't count as betrayal, weirdly. Some enemy dude got the point.

It's the aiming. Imagine this (when I shoot the marine, look at my reticle movement lol) for every encounter against competent players, how frustrating it can be having to compensate. Watch streams of people playing, everyone has these issues, albeit on a different scale and consistency. I feel it's a more frequent issue to adjust to in Halo 5, but I probably shouldn't be complaining. Somehow I aim like a madman, but still put up decent numbers lol

I can't wait for the aim assist settings to drop though, then hopefully less johns.

I feel like this game needs a palate cleanser from the competitive aspects of the game. They could have added point/time base score for the campaign levels with leader boards. I also think they totally miss an opportunity with warzone. Why didn’t they have a warzone mode that was just a team of 4 to 6 against AI with match-making?

So I get all this crap like needlers and jeeps from the gift packs. What am I supposed to do with them? Are they for a full match, or just one life?

They are one-time use "cards" that let you spawn with vehicles and power weapons in Warzone only. If you don't want them, sell them to get more RP back that you can put towards buying more REQ cards.

I literally had the same thing happen to me earlier and I almost lost it. I'm just going to take a break from arena for the time being and stick to warzone.
