All right cool. As to the bobblehead question, I can't see the answer anywhere online. I'll apparently be one of the first people to run around like an idiot trying to find the bobbleheads first thing haha.

Any tips for building charater (my first fallout) ?

Do whatever you want, apparently initial build doesn't matter. But if it's your first title I'd recommend just going decently balanced (4s and 5s everywhere).

Oh man that's why I love Fallout so much: I play on survival and I'm level 3 and just outside
the first city
, I stumbled upon a real tough (skull legendary?) enemy. After hitting him with everything I have from stealth and a crit to the head, I noticed that I did like 10% damage before I died. Reloaded and tried to cripple him with a crit to the legs, but that didn't work, so I sprinted away and onto a car wreck. I was able to jump from one side to the other on the car (so he couldn't reach me when he was in front of me), so I abused that I pumped like 40 double barrel shotgun shells into him before he finally died. The location he protected had an armor on a corpse that yields 24 defense and 27 energy defense. I'm level 3 and had armor scraps on me which resulted in 7 armor and 2 energy defense. What an upgrade. lol

Really reminded me about NV, where I used like 200 bottle mines in the Deathclaw pit, way before I should have been able to actually kill any of them.

well looks like I'll play hard or something I really dislike bullet sponge enemies for difficult.. its just lazy...

Small companion spoiler ahead

In the latest Jim Sterling thingy he says
you get quests from spending long enough with companions. Does anyone know how long you have to spend with them
?

I normally pick one companion and stick with them

Feh. I really wanted to ditch companions completely, but now...

I had one that was really interesting that took a while to get. Also you get a companion specific perk if you max your relationship with any of them, other than Dogmeat.

Makes sense one of the trophies is to get max companion relationship satus. I imagine its tied in with that.

I'm sure you've been asked and have answered on several occasions, but:

Did you experience these framerate hitches on Xbox One to the degree that Digital Foundry touts them?

The side quest with
travis was fun.

Game really gets better with time. The intro and first hours in sanctuary may give a bad impression. Once you hit diamond city it gets really awesome. 8 hours in so far and my completely random build works fine as of now. :o

I see them sometimes when walking into a bigger city area as it loads in but I personally haven't had anything drop all the way to zero. I'm sure DF did all their homework and are just reporting on what they found but in my experience, it's been really solid.

So can someone say if you play in offline mode after unlocking with vpn do you get achievements and things still when you go online after midnight tonight?

Awesome. Thanks for the answer.

Elite Controller secured my Xbox One purchase over PS4.

Couple Questions:

1. Is there Karma in the game? I've heard that they took it out for Fallout 4.
2. Is there a level cap, or is there no max level?

1. No karma.

2. No cap, there might be a soft cap of some sort, but I don't think that information is readily available yet.

You can have a first name and still have Codsworth call you by your last name.

My character, Mr. Edgar Priest :p

A couple people earlier in this thread and the other one said you can only enter one name to have Codsworth and potentially others say it. The way I understand it is, if you put "Richard" it'll work but if you put "Richard Marks", it won't.

I put in Edgar Priest and Codsworth refers to me as "Mr. Priest". I think that the only name that Codsworth recognizes is whatever name you have last.

You can have a first name and still have Codsworth call you by your last name.

So you can enter a full name?
Does the game address you contextually (outside of Codsworth) either by your first name, surname, or a more formal variation? Or is it usually just first name in text addresses.

Edit: Sorry, was typing this for a while -- all of my questions have been addressed. It seems I can just use my own full name (Matthew Roussow) and Matthew will be mentioned in speech, which is cool. I normally just name my RPG characters by my surname, Roussow, it's a little more unique.

That's a shame. I was hoping it recognized either/or. Well guess I'll be known as Dad as ONE character saying your name isn't going to make me change my name.

I'm hearing such radically different reports on the general scarcity of ammo. Some people say it's more scarce than ever, others say it's abundant.

He will address you as the first or last name that you have chosen, but that name has to be the last name you entered in the form. So it's like this

Richard = "Mr. Richard"
Richard Hammond = nothing
Hammond Richard = "Mr. Richard"

Priest = "Mr. Priest"
Priest Spongebob = nothing
Edgar Priest = "Mr. Priest"

For those playing on consoles, can you turn off the headbob/camera wobble? It's more pronounced when sprinting but you can see it also when walking and it's an effect that actually makes me feel ill after a while.
