Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

First game of the day and my entire team quits in the first minute. I stick it out and my rank goes down from Diamond 5 to 4 in team arena. That is bullshit 343.

I see people complaining about people on there team leaving all the time but does anybody ever play against a team where a few of the opposing team quit?

It's 50/50 for me

Hey does anyone know if AI spawns at specific time intervals or specific score thresholds?

If I knew when they spawned I'd know when to save reqs for killing a boss.

Something needs to be done. I'm done playing until my group gets online. Just no point in playing Halo by yourself with the potential of your teammates quitting and losing your rank.

Either have a social slayer playlist (would attract a lot of people), or a ranked arena playlist with no parties enabled. It's not that hard to do and I don't know why 343 is ignoring it.

Maybe their "pro team" said it's not allowed LOL.

Still not fun if you just end up hunting down the remaining players until the end of the game. I'd be up a for a system where you can volunteer to accept JiP games and losses from such games don't count towards your rank like someone suggested in this thread.

Arena is a waste of time for me at the minute. The lag compensation/hit detection is arse.

Plus the amount of leavers just doesn't make this fun whatsoever.

Be interesting to see the total number of games someone does drop out. I haven't had too many myself. I do recall one horrific game on plaza early last week though.

I wonder if any alarms have been set off at 343 hq.

Got a shitty teammate on our team who didn't try the whole game and just shot us all and got us one shot, so we lost.

Get him next game on the other team and he actually tries and does good.

Fuck that guy. Fuck him.

and what if that person had a bad connection to 343 that night? or if 343 was experiencing difficulties? Do they change the policy on the fly? It would never work enough to be consistent.

No, you have a consistent policy, but one team shouldn't be penalized for others who quit on their team. It's not like the solutions discussed are even the only solutions out there, but it's better to think of something rather than do nothing.

How do I unlock the rewards i. H:Nightfall? I watched all Episodes months ago, rewatched some again today (on my X1 and including all second stories) but I still ahven't unlocked any...

I'm so looking forward to a Team Action Sack playlist with game types where everyone has Prophets Banes or all CE Pistols start. Just a place where people can use ultra rares without fear of using them in Warzone and losing them instantly.

Sorry man, I was eating borscht in the first game.

I suck hard at this Halo stuff.

Any tips for a newcomer? Should I always aim for the head? Every time I start shooting at somebody, he turns around and kills me. I think I had 5 kills and 20-something deaths.

I'm honestly not enjoying it much at the moment, and I really want to.

Honestly, so that we can give you the best feedback, you should capture some clips of your not-so-highlights and share them here. Use xboxdvr.com to share the links.

with a precision weapon, aim for the body and pull up for the head on the final shot.

pistol - 4 body shots then headshot.
BR - 3 body 1 head
DMR - 4 body 1 head
so on.

As soon as their shields pop you go for the head. For automatic weapons it doesn't matter, they dont get headshot bonuses so just aim for center mass.

It just takes practice

Saving my tier 2 invisibility for when we have the enemy team core exposed is good fun. Crouch right into their base and unload. >;]

OMG imagine that AND a Silenced SMG AND the Armor Mod where you cant get spotted even when walking on radar...

...Ninja!

Also, went Cinema to watch some Romance Film so in a good mood...time to go home and bring my good mood higher as I get a DMR and win some Warzone!

Always aim for the head with precision weapons (Pistol, BR, DMR, Sniper)

Close range, don't be afraid to use your AR or SMG, or use them for clean up kills. SMG will tear people apart close up.

Learn the maps, try to play with a party, stick with teammates and don't always lone wolf it on maps until you're much more comfortable/better.

Learn the thrust, it is your friend and will save your ass.

Pretty much it as far as bare bones basics go.

I don't even know how to capture. I bought my Xbox One last week, and don't have a Kinect.

So it's best using precision weapons? Are those the pistols, snipers and such?
And then I shoot their armor, and then hit them in the head?
Also, what is DMR, BR etc.?

I'm practicing the thrust, that is the one which gives me a single boost right? But I can't double-jump and such?

I had a similar thing in Shotty Snipes. Giy is AFK for most of the game on my team, makes us lose. Is on the opposite team next game and carries them to victory.. Cheers mate.

Yup. Aim for body as easier to get body shots, then when they have no armor, aim for the head for the Deal-Sealer!

And DMR is DMR

BR is Battle Rifle.

Maybe give us your Gamertag so you can play with us?

And if you ever in Warzone, I'll join and follow you to make sure the enemy shoot me, not you. ;D

And yes, the Thursters are the Boost-Thing. When you use, you can tell it is recharging by a Triangle st the top of your screen.

This exists!?!?!

You're very helpful, and I am very thankful to all of you.

How can I see, when their armor has broken down?

Gamertag: Zadipe

You can capture quick 30 second clips by double tapping the center X and pressing X (the other lol) to record.

Edit: Got an Oni Warthog Cert. Yay or Nay Gaf?

Pistol, Battle Rifle, DMR (designated marksmen rifle) Light Rifle, Carbine are all weapons capable of one shot kills on unshielded opponents. These have been the bread and butter of Halo combat. If you want to get good at the game these are essential

Especially the pistol since you spawn with it.

If you're a newcomer then don't worry about aiming for the head until their shields are down. I aim for the head for consistency sake; it's easier to keep the reticle on one point, but if you're missing a lot it could do more harm than help.

Use automatics most of the time for now, keep yourself moving so people don't sneak up on you, don't stay in open areas, when in doubt melee if they're close, try to strafe back and forth wildly when you're shooting.

Once you learn the maps a bit you'll start to naturally get feelings for the location of enemy players, so trusting your instinct is key.

If you know you're about to die with an enemy close, aim at the ground or wall and throw a last second grenade.

Use the vertical nature of the maps to your advantage, keep clambering up things to get the high ground whenever you can.

Stick with teammates and just do what they do...you may not get a bunch of kills but you'll die way less.

I could go on and on but those are just some of the basics.

Actually, automatics have precision damage modifiers now. I didn't want to believe, but it's true...
RIP in peace

If your team is down it's almost impossible. Keep them alive until the last bit starts at least. My 2 cents.

Yeah I stopped at the part where all of the knights spawned. Team were kept alive, but I was still getting owned.

Will give it another go later. I'm confident that I'll finish it this time within a few tries.

Okay, I'm gonna try and apply some of these tips you are giving me.

Also, when I have recorded, where do I go to get the link?

And I also connected my headset, but apparently I get sound out of both my TV and headset at the same time - sounds really weird.

yes please...let them be free in customs...
