So I have never been to a Best Buy Midnight(11pm) launch before, but this is my first time for Fallout 4 is it any different than GameStop? because I dont want to be confuse when I get there. >_>

I went for Halo there was like 10 people there (I live in a rural area) and when 11 hit you either picked it up if you did online pickup/preordered it or just bought it there, pretty painless.

Fallout 4 just uses invisible walls at the end of the world. They didn't even bother with mountains, radiation, wreckage, etc.

Come on, Beth.

Anybody with F4 for XBONE? How is it?

I've been watching a stream for an hour, looks good.

A buddy of mine took his copy home early, he's about 4 hrs in, and said he's had a few dips here and there, but nothing near as bad as the DF article.

So what's a good starting point to make sure I won't fail an important one and have to restart?

Also, I like what I've been hearing about the Charisma perk line but I would like to put less into it so I can pick up some other combat perks.

I mean just put enough and if you feel the next conversation will be important save right before. I got by with this method in the other titles.

I'll be putting like 5-6 (with bobbleheads included) and I feel that's enough to where I'll reload maybe twice or three times. No need to go overboard if I still need perks in other SPECIALs.

I had the gun bug, I just quit out and came back in and it's never happened again. Never had that other bug.

So far nothing since the gun thing.

Maybe I've just got really shitty luck, but 3 different game-breaking bugs in the first 30 minutes is nuts.

Ironically, Luck was the stat I put the least points into.

So, my steam version won't launch past the initial start screen. (The "Play, Options, Support, Exit" window). Hit play and nothing happens.

That's good to hear. Normally I would've gotten this on PC but I want to upgrade my rig first. I wanna see how console mods work anyways.

Only thing I really miss is a wait button. Having to find a chair is a bit of a hassle. Hope there's a portable chair or something you can carry around. Switching to third person being on the back button is fucking with me, too, I'm used to it being on the right stick.

The last one. :p

Yeah, hold down A (or X on PS) and you can carry things. Game tells you when some things are too heavy to carry, too.
yeah that really pisses me off I wanted to play at night 100% of the time WHATTHEFUCK Bethesda..

Man, this fucking game. A little exploration story, spoiler tagged for your benefit. No story spoilers at all, some very mild talk about one location but that's it.

I'm looking for the Corvega construction facility and find Lexington. It seems abandoned enough. I stumble upon a Super-Duper Mart and decide to venture inside. I find a Protectron locked in its charging booth. I remember I found a subway token on a dead wastelander so I set the Protectron's routine to subway patrol. The robot scans my token and lets me carry on.

As I explore deeper into the building, a metric fuckton of Ghouls start slipping in. These guys crawl through the fucking windows like it's the Walking Dead up in this bitch. I whip out my sawed-off shotgun and begin blasting faces, kneecaps and any other type of limb that gets too close. As I round the corner and kill the final Ghoul, I notice something laying on the ground between two aisles. It's the Protectron, surrounded by four dead Ghouls. Little guy gave its life for me.

Emotionally moved by this robotic altruism, I finish looting the Mart and head deeper into Lexington. At this point I decide to tune my Pip-Boy to Diamond City Radio. As the upbeat tunes of "Butcher Pete, Pt. 2" start blasting over my speakers, some Ghouls decide to attack me from behind in a narrow alley. The fight spills out into the open street and I find myself surrounded by angry radiation victims. Shit's looking pretty fucking grim, let me tell you.

Then, all of a sudden, half the fucking Ghouls blow up. Several rusted cars go up in a fiery nuclear explosion. My health gets dropped below half and most of my limbs get crippled. I manage to limp back into the alleyway and dispatch the final Ghouls. I take a peek around the corner and see a Defense Turret raining down bullets on some angry Ghouls. Then, from further away, a fucking Raider in Power Armor uses a goddamn Fat Man to blow them all to smithereens.

At this point the air is colored red from all the explosions, shit's ridiculous. I sneak my way up on top of a building and take out the Raider. I steal his Fat Man. From my high vantage point I snipe some of the Raiders defending the Corvega Plant and then make my way to the facility.

As I crest the hill I see a few more Raiders. I quickly take care of them. A slightly somber tune starts playing over my radio. "Don't they know it's the end of the world", the one from that fake audio trailer two years back. Right as the singer utters those words I hear the wind pick up. The sky turns a nasty shade of green. My goddamn first radiation storm.

There's still raiders out there, but as my geiger counter starts emitting warning sounds I stumble through them in search for an entrance. My health is reaching the critical level at this point. I finally discern a door through the radioactive haze and stumble in, to safety.

This fucking game, you guys.

Oh. My. God.

This may have been asked. BUT does the quality of loot pick ups change based on difficulty?

Am i going to pick up cooler shit playing on hard compared to normal?

Anyone have a solution to the weird right analog stick acceleration on the PC version? There's gotta be something to fix it, but basically, if you hold the analog stick on the right edge it just suddenly moves faster after a second or two.

Say, I don't see the patch being downloaded on my notification list on PS4 but the downloaded game--when I select information--said that its version 1.01 so I assume the patch is already included within the downloaded game, correct or no?

that's my understanding. When you start the game it might say "installing patch" and you might have to restart, doubt it though.

I recommend the Ladykiller perk for
romances (bonus temporarily skills....(you need to sleep)...but it depends on your companion )

Those of you who are annoyed by the weight limit can use console command to increase your carrying capacity.
Its the same exact command as New Vega's.

lol real sad I cant do this lol was usually the first thing I do in a Beth game...playing on ps4

Trying to play a little early on VPN, and it says log in failed wrong password or whatever. When I turn off VPN and use same password, I get right into Steam. Anyone know a fix for this?

How long on your new PC build? If your talking months, then I'd bite the bullet on a console version. If your only talking a few weeks, I'd hold out. Let that mod community build. :)

And the game won't start on my PC past the startup window. Got the update, got the latest drivers.

Thanks for nothing Bethesda.

Going to try that beta patch.

Can I skip all the settlement stuff or is it required to get some of the more powerful weapons and items? It just seems like a boring time waste to me but devs like to lock the better stuff behind these new systems.

3 hour mark for PSN!

At minimum, you are more likely to get legendary loot because legendary mobs are more likely to show up the harder the difficulty setting.

Just a little experience here, I've been playing the old republic and Alien Isolation getting pretty psyched about this unlocking at midnight, so when it comes along I see there is game ready drivers available and promptly download them. Now my laptop is crapping out with a blue screen error TDR NVM blah blah which is a nvidia thing. I'd say hold off but this is only my experience.

Windows 10 here and I havent even been able ran Fallout 4 yet.
