going the vpn route was for the better already put 8 hours in and all ive done is play around with the settlements just got my 2nd one up and running this game is going to eat my free time like no other i havnt even done any quests yet really only a couple leading up the the settlements

Crazy. There are a handful of us who unlocked it with VPNs earlier and playing offline.
How long on your new PC build? If your talking months, then I'd bite the bullet on a console version. If your only talking a few weeks, I'd hold out. Let that mod community build.

Dunno why the ban scares are so widespread this year, but seriously you'll be totally fine if you VPN into it early.
I'm playing the game on PC and have seen some minor minor bugs like the sound cutting out in the menus and subtitles getting stuck on one line. It doesn't happen often at least.
I'm a couple hours in and the gunplay feels great. Big step up from Fallout 3. I can't wait to see what's in store for me. Now back to playing!

Well the final boss in New Vegas had a speech check as did the last enemy in the Anchorage DLC, so they're certainly not above putting them in important scenarios.
I just realised it's still the 9th for you Americans isn't it? While i'm sitting here with my Australian version currently installing.

dawg! Buy from gmg or cdkeys or something. I bought from funstock (fuck funstock) but it was 40 USD. I know you have steam gift cards but for the love of god dont buy full priced from steam! I am in Canada too and our dollar sucks but you save where you can.

Careful I don't think it's actually preloaded. You did downlosd the 4gig initial file but people have said that once it goes live, and you start the game, it has to download/install more. So I'm bringing my vita to work, or if I wake up in the middle of he night I'm just going to start it up then go back to sleep

I got the SPECIAL book and need to allocate a point. I have two options as far as I can tell
1) put it endurance to get life giver then I can get chem resistant with the bobble head ( may work well since I have chemist in my intelligence tree )
2) put it in agility to get mister sandman then get action boy with a bobble head later. This would work well with my night person perk I get with bobble head and I did enjoy vats in fallout 3

It should keep downloading after the initial 4 gigs. You can check the DL status on PS4 by pressing Options on the Fallout 4 icon and looking at Download Status.

Two things have stood out to me after about five or six hours of playing. The crafting system is awesome. My compulsive need to pick up every object is finally justified! And I went in to the game not planning on doing the town building stuff. Not that I thought it looked bad, I just thought I'd want to do the other stuff in the game more. But the workshop stuff and the building tools are so easy to use and the settlement stuff is actually more intuitive than I expected. Those two things really stand out so far.

I'm convinced that Charisma is going to pay off in this game. The supply lines, extra money and access to stuff seems encouraging. Normally, I don't care to win conversations so I usually keep Charisma low but it sounds like in this game it can really help you out financially. So, build number 14,271 for me is:
Strength 3
Perception 3
Endurance 5
Charisma 5
Intelligence 6
Agility 4
Luck 2
I guess you get the
really early so that will go to Charisma and the
bobblehead is early on as well.
I feel confident in this build. I get
perk for my settlement stuff and get access to the mods as well as lockpicking and hacking.

this gives me access to increased rad resistance. Sounds like there is a lot in the game, too.

Semi-props to Bethesda - I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the game case to see the female SS art with Dogmeat on the other side of the game's cover slip. The male SS is on the back of the game case, but the female SS' art is a lot bigger. It's a not a bad trade off, and I was surprised they included it.
I'm pleased I didn't go with the Pip-Boy Edition, as the lunch box + steelbook are gorgeous. I sadly don't have time to play until later today, so I hope y'all are enjoying! (Or sadly waiting, depending on your time-zone.)
