So ummm... Why won't Codsworth say Sean or Shaun... when it's your son's freaking name and he says it multiple times during the intro?
early on in the game, what's a good way to increase Luck? I didn't realize it was tied to bloody mess and would like to unlock that as soon as possible .
I'm having this problem too... not sure what/where he's finding... or does he find it and loot it himself perhaps....(must investigate!).

I had one downwhere he ran off and barked at a junk pile in the corner.behind the drive in movie theatre screen
I eventually found what he was barking at 10 mins later when I'd made it in to the locked room next door, he'd found a safe that was inside the locked room right next to the corner where he was standing barking outside.
I think I should go to diamond city now , Ran into a lot of hard missions which I'm pretty sure I ain't supposed to do this early
Same. I was wondering about when a mole attacked and he popped up though.Okay, I sent Dogmeat to Sanctuary when I got a new companion. Where the hell is Dogmeat in Sanctuary? I can find all the other party members I sent there with no problem, but I can't find Dogmeat.
top 5 game visually on PC? it looks fucking amazing--best use of AO I've seen
Am I missing something regarding the visuals? I see people complaining that "it looks like shit". Are we playing the same game? Character models are just ok, but the world itself is gorgeous.
Is a Sniper build really viable? I mean it seems like there are lots of battles to be had inside buildings where corridors and rooms are quite cramped: wouldn't that make a sniper build pretty much defenseless?
I guess that is why you also use a shotgun, huh? To balance that weakness.
Combat shot gun. But the double barrel worked just as fine in the beginning.Which type of shotgun. I am gonna try that
you can actually use the skill points you gain to put it back into your special stats instead of a perkearly on in the game, what's a good way to increase Luck? I didn't realize it was tied to bloody mess and would like to unlock that as soon as possible .

It's Fallout. Finding yourself in shit situations is the norm.
Lvl it up like you would a perk
I'm confused, are you upset that they didn't include shaun in the list of names he will say. Or are you upset because you think that since he says the name for other lines. That name should then be forever usable in any lines and contexts where he says a specific name?
This game isn't very good at telling where you are not supposed to go. Missions and enemies should display their level.
Codsworth didn't like when I picked a lock to get a 5% damage increase for companions magizine. You know what codsworth? Shut up.
I used Sniper Rifle exclusively in every Fallout game so far(1,2,3 and NV), but due to the faster paced combat, worse VATS and the fact that Sniper Rifles are really weak in this game, I just used "whatever" weapon since the beginning, once my pipe sniper rifle turned out to be crap. Shotguns with "long barrel" are seriously game great. I play on survival and they are the real deal. Now with my legendary-drop and modified sniper rifle it feels at the power level where it should have been. I still don't use it much in closed rooms, but I use it far more frequently and it's actually a better VATS weapon now. But yeah, a pure sniper rifle run is far too hard in Fallout 4 and shotguns got hugely buffed and fit far better in this game than in Fallout 3 and NV. That said, a "sniper build" is totally viable. In the beginning I regretted that I didn't go for any defense, but now that I have more HP and better armor it really pays off to be so offensive oriented. And a hidden shotgun to the face hurts just as much.
The biggest life saver is "Critical Banker" and "Better Criticals" tho. Without them, I would have died SOOOOOOOOO often when a legendary runs towards me... and I encounter those quite often on Survival. With Rifleman the most impacting skills in the game imo. Ninja is nice to have, but weaker than expected, since you deal 2x sneak damage anyway. It seemed before release that Ninja would give +2.5x, but it's actually just +0.5x, so less needed. The AP from Agility really comes in handy tho.
The only thing I will change from my "planned" build is to NOT go for Hacker. I've found so far a single computer which for which I needed hacking without the ability to circumvent that computer somehow. Not gonna waste any points for that.
Aaaaaand a soft boot worked. Strange bug. Happened twice in a row.Having an issue where my character is stuck right after a scene in the very beginning. I dunno if this is common or not. I'm on PS4. Will give it a soft boot and see if that changes anything.basically right after his wife dies. He's unthawed, falls out of the pod, and then won't move
My bright idea of prioritizing hacker and lockpicking at the beginning so that I can get all the contents behind locked stuff seem like a bad idea right now, hahaha, since the game is so combat intensive... hahaha... :*(
Maybe I should just restart and focus my character at combat/survival abilities first before unlocking stuff like lockpicking and hacking.
I skill(ed) lockpicking whenever possible. That one is actually quite useful. My bright idea of prioritizing hacker and lockpicking at the beginning so that I can get all the contents behind locked stuff seem like a bad idea right now, hahaha, since the game is so combat intensive... hahaha... :*(

True the enemies that have skulls mean that they over level me right?
People in the future just don't give a fuck. Screwing around on your "significant other"? No problem! People starving, but you casually steal all of their crops so you can take it back to your own tribe? Again, no problem!
Goddamn ghouls scaring the shit outta me. They feel a lot faster than in 3 or New Vegas and sometimes just pop up out of nowhere.
They are legendary. Kill them and get phat lootz!

I don't understand the issue. It's not like you can put points into lockpicking and hacking every level. The game is setup in such a way that unless all you took were non combat skills, or combat skills that are actually ancilary, it's hard to not have an effective character in combat. Easiest route is to just grab the 20% pistol perk first, then lockpicking, then hacking, then gun mods (on top of actually modding your pistol even before the gun mod perk). That should set you up with enough of a foundation that if all you wanted to do was focus on everything other than combat perks from there on out (within reason), you should still be okay.
Some of this shit is character level gated anyway. Even if you wanted to focus on lockpicking and hacking, you literally can't unlock advanced or master level stuff until the game allows you to.
