Anyone here with INT 4 have the Idiot Savant perk? How often does it proc?

Wondering if I should respec through console commands, not sure if having 9 INT is giving me much EXP compared to what Idiot Savant would if I had a bit lower INT.

About the castle

cleared out the monsters and now I have to power the beacon. Do I really need to put in so many points into intelligence go build a level 3 generator

Made my character start with 4 STR 10 CHA 10 LCK 1s everything else.

Enjoying the life off 12301xp and everyone dying suddenly by their own bullets.

edit: Also I'm on Survival.

Others were complaining that it procs all the time and produces an annoying sound effect so it appears to do quite a bit.

At 1 INT it feels like maybe ~20% chance to proc or something like that. It really does work with anything, I turned in a quest earlier and gained two levels (and that before I had the 5x version).

Really hoping that the first patch to come out addresses the mipmapping of textures/low res ones loading instead of high res ones at times. There are times when same location will have much lower res textures than other times, usually just restarting the game fixes it. Seen a lot of reports on all forms of hardware, believe it's happening on consoles as well.

I have been avoiding looking up any help. This has resulted in me thinking that armor worked like it did in F3 and NV. Imagine me invading a huge building full of raiders wearing nothing but my vault jumpsuit on Hard difficulty. I just thought the game was extra hard while I died in one hit to almost everything.

I also didn't understand how Junk worked. I finally do now, so I'm modding weapons and armor. I can't believe how dumb I was being lol

Level 15 and I'm still rocking my Vault Jumpsuit. Haven't found anything better, underclothing-wise anyway. Got some pretty decent leather and metal slapped over it.

I still dont know how this all works.
im sure my massive fuckup/illumination moment is coming soon.

Welp, it's decided, I'll respec right away then. Thanks!

Kinda tempted to drop INT to 3 or even 1 since the terminals seem to just open doors I could pick too, so... Feels a bit worthless atm.

Is there a way to clear dead ghouls or people out of establishments/allied camps/whatever?

put away your weapon, then press and hold the interact button, X on PS4, on the body.

now you can carry/drag stuff away, it even helps when you want to steal stuff since no one cares if you just carry an item away.

The ones in Sanctuary generally are.

thanks. generally though?..

Damn.. Codsworth destroys everything
does he? i thought he'd be weak as hell, damn.

Man, the first few missions of this game are awesome. It was a really smart decision to build this game around the concept of customizing Power Armor.

This game looks like more Fallout 3 with slightly upgraded graphics and a couple of new side activities. Looks like they didn't truly fix the problems their games have had ever since Morrowind (which is still the best Bethesda game). Looks like the quests, characters and dialogue are similarly unengaging, the combat still not as good as it should be, animation still bad, exploration and world building still the big saving grace. This is what it looks like. Right or wrong GAF?

If that's your opinion, that's your opinion, doesn't matter if it's right or wrong (which is subjective), although I don't buy the "slightly better graphics" point, it's miles better than FO3 graphically.

The DNA of the game is Bethesda through and through, but has anyone else done this style of game, on this scope any better?

uh you can drag bodies around I guess, just hold the interact button down on a body for a few seconds and you will grab it.

edit: beaten lol

And yeah I just switched my companion to Codsworth, no regrets. Great bodyguard.

Only shared if you set up supply lines via local leader.

Which IMO is just silly and contrived since you can just warp to whatever location has your stuff anyway.

No idea if the savant perk would give you more than 9-10 INT, but even then, you only seem to gain +3% XP per INT compared to your current INT level. So if you're at 5, you'd gain a whopping 12% more at 9. Whoopie. It also doesn't even appear to apply to kill XP, just quest and discovery, but that could be wrong. Main reason to go for higher levels of INT seems to be for up to the rank 9 perk (why is rank 10 so ultra shitty?).

I am 16 hours in and I've gotten to run around in power armour once.
:(

You should be running around in it more. What's keeping you? Steel scrap from excess weapons can be used to fix arms and legs, plus military-grade circuit boards for the torso.

Fusion cores can be scavenged or stolen from other functional Power Armors. By the way, is there a way to recharge spent Fusion Cores?

Oh my god this game. I was stuck in a main quest cause an npc refused to sit in the chair to progress the quest. I shot him twice in the head with a shotgun to move and then he sat............. guess he needed a little push:D

Quests, dialogue and plot are bad. I don't think anyone but the diehards are going to jump up and defend those aspects of the game. The visuals and combat have improved, and exploration/world building are still on point.

It's a great game, but I do wish they'd acknowledged all the advances F:NV made over FO3 and kept those.

Yes but I want to test in game. Can I do that thing before leaving the vault or do I create a new character?

After you input your name for the first time. Walk around the house and Codsworth will say it but that list is spot on.

I just want to know how I can move these damn lantern things:

Anyone, please?

It's not slightly better, even though it is behind other current gen games it's miles ahead of the previous Bethesda games. But the game itself is not that different from Fallout 3.

I wish Obsidian gets another chance at Fallout as they had the better game.

Slightly upgraded graphics. Absolutely not.

Yeah, the texture work may not be impressive but I'm floored by the overall package. When you're not staring at the details and simply walking through the world this game is gorgeous.

Is there a perk that lets you use the content of any workbench on any location without having to transfer it manually?

I was wondering that too. It's kind of annoying, especially as I'm trying not to use fast travel as much as possible. I'm sure there was a note in one of the loading screens about it but I was distracted and didn't fully read it.

Just started playing last night, I can see why people criticize the graphics now (in particular the character models imo), but the game still looks pretty great. One thing that I don't like so far is how they recycled songs from Fallout 3, which would make sense in the grand scheme of things in the wasteland I guess, but it just seems lazy to me.

On an unrelated note though, can anyone reccomend a decent usb wifi adapter? My desktop computer isn't connected through wifi, so I can't really use my pip-boy :/

Yep, my thoughts as well.

Imagine what it's going to look like when modding takes off...time to upgrade my 660ti.
