This is basically their way of saying they exist.
Also, one option is murder A, one is B, one is stay the hell out, and one gives away which did it.

Your character has no idea whats going on, nor does he pretend to iirc.

My character sure didn't seem lost. He talked as if he knew exactly what
The Institute and Synths
were.

Also, my options were as followed:

1:
Encourage man with gun to kill Synth-man
2 & 3
(Convince)Reason with man with gun so as to not kill Synth-man
4:
(Convince) Intimidate man with gun to not kill Synth-man.

Maybe I'm blind but I didn't see a "Stay out of it option".

Also, is this a random encounter? I reloaded and when I went back, two entirely different people were there discussing whether or not Mirelurk meat + bread = sandwich.

I'm not even that far into the game and already the roleplaying elements are seriously disappointing me.

I came across 2 people holding someone at gunpoint.
The guy aiming at the dude is saying he's a synth and he doesn't trust him because he thinks he'll go running to the Institute and rat them out.
First off, what the fuck is a synth and what's the hell is the Institute? Have I been sleeping and am I as a player supposed to know what these are at this point?
Secondly, why do I only have 4 dialogue options, 3 of which involve convincing the other dude to spare him and the other one to encourage killing him. Why can't I first ask more questions, like what a Synth is?
My character seems to already know what they are despite never having heard of either thing before which make no fucking sense.

If I didn't know any better I'd say this is Bethesda's first venture into the RPG genre.

Yeah I hate the new dialogue changes. I interrupted these two guys trying to rob this lady and they started talking to me and asking if I would help them. That's not really what I do, so I backed out of the conversation and shot him point blank in the face.

Nothing. Some blood came out of his head but the conversation continued.

Ah

Yes, I agree then. I mean I realized pretty much on the spot since I know of
snatcher
and other such things with similar concepts, but yeah, I can see it being an issue for some.

Tagged solely for context, anyone whos been following this convo is free to click that.

yeah, it was also mentioned in the trailers before but your character doesn't know, so the game kinda has to get him into the topic naturally :D ... damages the immersion

Just watched my friend get two shotted by that deathclaw at start where you first get power armour.

Is that suppose to happen?

It's a Deathclaw. If you're not careful around one of those things, you'll get eviscerated.

It all depends on the difficulty, the weapon you're using and whether your're in the power armor or not. If he's not, getting two shotted is generous even.

Lol I meant you can open the case instead of spawning the gun, I wasn't saying go out and do it. :P

But yeah I see where you're coming from, like there is a very clear progression path laid out for your character and totally skipping to the very end can hamper the experience.
Yep pretty much. I mean same logic for having a friend powerlevel you in borderlands at the very start
Yay, you didnt cheat but uh, you still kind of broke the game, and I personally don't have fun doing that.

No its not random I think, and if it is, only at that place? I mean I've gotten the scene too before I had it.

And yeah 2/3 are the ones youre looking for iirc. I /might/ be wrong, but I think one is the "I'm not going to shoot anyone today" equivilant and one reveals the answer since
the guy who had the gun pointed at him says "Thanks for saving me...now I just have to dig two graves!

It does a lot of damage. Your best bet is to hope the Deathclaw gets distracted by other enemies and occasionally gets stuck on the terrain while you continuously shoot it with your minigun.

Sooo.. it's the 27th of october in game I think...

People will comment about Halloween in game time. I had a diamond city security guy complain about only getting tricks. Flawless gameplay feature.

I also accidentally ran into a level 50 monster that murdered me hard. I love this game. If only the radio dj was better

I feel like Bethesda made the DJ shit on purpose, like he is real bad. Sounds like a kid just found a radio broadcast building and started to talk into the mic.

Quest spoilers to alleviate that.

He gets better after completing a certain set of missions. If you want to get it started, go checkout the Dugout Inn after talking to the DJ in his house/radio station

So just got into a pretty long session last night. The game was not clicking until after a bit last night where I kind of 'relearned' playing Fallout. I am now having a blast, but have some worries.

The dialogue system sucks. It's one of those confusing I don't know what picking this will do. Even the 'information' choices sometimes end the dialogue before I am ready too so it feels a bit weird.

Also though the weapon modding seems cool getting the materials needed and needing perks for them is not cool. I don't know what the cap is, but it seems like a bummer that we have to choose between a perk and a special level and there are none of those get extra points or auto level perk either.

Once i got out in the open from the Vault, the game somehow started making me nauseous :( This kinda sucks. Haven't tried it since yesterday, keeping my fingers crossed it is not that as i just bought this game digital and can't return it.

I just dismissed the dog for colsworth (the floating robot) and now I can't find dogmeat in sanctuary where I dismissed him. Where or how can I find my damn dog?

If I store a bunch of "junk" at an armor crafting station and then walk over to a weapons stations, do I still have access to those stored materials?

how is it that the protagonist sometimes knows people's names without having introduced themselves to you

I think we're just noticing it more now with the VA, but Bethesda games as far back as I can remember just show the names of people in the interface at all times, regardless of whether you've ever met them.

Confirmed you cannot place custom map markers?

Sucks if true. This got me back to a loot locations or caves a ton in Witcher 3.
Uh
Dunno if you can place multiple but I've definitely placed one multiple times.

Yep. Hate. Don't care if intentional, it urks me. Which is exactly what they wanted.

Ugh. Effffffff that.
FWIW you can save in the dialogue choice sooo

So weird all the sudden when I walk it is like I am in muck. I have over 60lbs free in my storage and I haven't changed clothes. If I sprint it is fast or otherwise it is super slow. I even tried using a lighter gun but it isn't doing anything. ThoughtS?

Gotta remember that when I need more shotgun shells, since all vendors together only have 12 or so sometimes. Still have plenty of ammunition and I would totally sell and rebuy them to get rid of the extra money I made. Not that I have found money to be particularly useful, other than to buy some cheap Junk of stuff I need or ammunition - both of which doesn't cost more than a couple of hundred. I currently have over 3k.

Today's goal: Get some bobble heads, finish upper half of the map (all locations) and search for some more "+1HP / ingame minute HP reg" comics.

Theres a walk button. You can lock it too, which you probably did. Unsure how to do this on a console since I've been using kb/m (not on console for once, feels weird!) but on that it's caps lock.

RIP
Info please

How do I remove one of those old corpses from my settlement? I don't mean a defeated enemy, I know you can drag those around. But I've got a skeleton hanging around that was already there beforehand and I seemingly can't get rid of it?
