Dogmeat isn't getting the gun when I tell him fetch it, he can't find anything. I've tried it from different positions in the room too. Dammit dog!

Yeah you should definitely be upgrading your weapons if you find the combat difficult. It's crazy how much damage one upgrade can do. My 10mm Pistol called First Love (the one you get in the beginning of the game) has a wicked amount of damage now, just from me changing out the receiver.

My .50 cal sniper rifle is such a god damn beast. I love coming up on enemy encampments, finding a good sniper spot, popping a Nuka Cola Quantam, Refreshing Drink or some whiskey and just letting it rip. It's so satisfying.

The starting gun is my favorite in the game. I just wish I could find more 10mm ammo. I keep finding .38.

Yeah. I updated my post with the command. Just change x to whatever value you want.

Code:
player.modav carryweight x

Totally doing this when i go back to the game. After i am done with a bandit camp or a raid, the place tends to have TONS of naked bodies all over. Its kinda weird tbh. But i pick EVERYTHING! Specially since i know i need stuff for upgrades and what not.

Thanks for the info.

Just got back home, started up my game on Xbox one, hit any button to bring up the menu, and it's just hanging with the loading in the bottom right hand corner.

Here's a tip for the Workshop and a mini rant about its horrendous UI:

When walking around in Workshop mode, note how if you face certain items (and are close enough to them), they'll either highlight in yellow or green. Yellow items can only be broken down into parts, but green items can either be broken down or sent directly to the Workshop.

The game does a terrible job of conveying to you how exactly the storage system works for items that you send to the Workshop.

First of all, when browsing through items in Workshop mode, those in storage will have a number below their portrait representing how many are available.

Here's an example in which I've stored one basic chair (note the "1" below its portrait):

Although you can clearly see in the screenshot that this chair will supposedly cost me 4 Wood and 1 Plastic to place, items in storage actually don't cost anything! After placing this chair, I'll still have 16 Wood and 8 Plastic to work with. If I were to place another one immediately afterwards, however, it would cost me 4 Wood/1 Plastic since I'd have none left in storage.

Wouldn't it be nice if the game actually presented this information in a clearer manner, like greying out the resource requirements for items in storage or even replacing the number of required resources with 0s? The Workshop as a whole just feels like such a rush job to me.

Sorry maybe I mis-understood , but why would you assume that you will be docked materials if you are clearly placing the chair you already built that's in storage?

Major bug encountered with the "Local Leader" perk.

I sent two settlers from one settlement to another, they left, but never showed up in the other settlement. Map still shows that they're in the original settlement, but they're not. So they're pretty much gone.

Tried passing the time, jumping around different locations, again and again. Nothing.

How boned am I?

Bethesda really dropped the ball on explaining how the crafting system works.

The sheer amount of people not understanding how it works because many important things are not at all explained is inexcusable.

There are at least 3 people every page asking the same questions which is indicative of just how poorly explained it is.

I can't believe people are dropping junk on the floor and trying to manually scrap it when the mechanic is simply transfer scrap to the workbench and it's broken down automatically.

I've said it a few times, but I really think due to the sheer amount of people having issues warrants a crafting OT.

We could have a crafting and settlement OT. Seems to be a lot of those questions too.

"You're carrying too much and can't run" sums up my experience so far.

your answer. Hopefully you are playing on PC.

I also load my companion with all my loot, and often head back to Sanctuary to drop all the junk, weapons and clothes i don't use. Its kind of a pain.

So anyone using any of the pacify skills in the Charisma tree? I went full charisma but turns out most the perks are about getting followers which is a downer. Are they actually useful? Because my regular follower pisses me off enough.

As I continue to struggle with Altitis and wanting to remake my character....

Anyone spec strength without going for melee at all? Is it worth it for heavy gunner + hip fire perks? Are there a lot of good big guns? I only have the mini gun.

Alot is explained in the game. Press start and click HELP.

There are also TONS of pop ups that helped me.

It literally says left over components are kept. Also people don't read this thread and ask the same thing over and over to be fair

I dropped Dogmeat off at one of my bases but I can't seem to find him anymore. Any thoughts on how to get him back? Is it just sleep for 24 hours and he will show up?

I have a weird relationship with this game. Sometimes it clicks and it's the best thing ever, other times it's the worst thing ever. I guess I just don't like the combat at all, and there's a lot of combat here.

I keep getting bored and annoyed by all the dungeons, but for some reason I still keep doing them one after the other lol

I should go do some quests. Shame that most of them seem to take place in the very same dungeons, though.

But it really should be portrayed to the player via the UI, it's a bit of a mess.

I need help please guys. I'm playing on PS4 and my game seems to be glitched on the Clear Concord of Hostiles section near the beginning of the game. Trying to avoid spoilers, I've killed everything in the area but the mission won't progress.

The only thing I did that could have caused this was leave the museum, take down most of the raiders and quick travel back to Sanctuary to clear my junk before I actually went to the roof. Any suggestions that anyone knows of to get past this section?

Anyone else experienced this or how to fix? It's pissing me off.

RIP settlers. The wasteland was too much for them.

It would be nice if they made a separate help section just for settlement and crafting. Not the entire game in one Help section.

I completely understand. I was confused by things too.

Xbox down for anyone else? Getting "social and gaming services" affected when I diagnose.

Game won't load, tried another game, same thing. WTF?

Lock yourself and Dogmeat in the closet where the Cryolator is. Ask him to fetch something for you, then pick "items" and he'll snatch it for you.

Finally rolled into Diamond City after sidetracking myself for 12+ hours. Been getting a lot of use of the gun mod system.

It was unfortunately paired with horrendous frame drop as I got close to the baseball stadium. It's really cool inside though.

Does anyone know how to dismiss Dogmeat completely?

I never want to see him again. The dog is always in my way in tight quarters, and the idea to add whining to his audio was absolutely the worst thing anyone has ever done. My own dog doesn't whine, why would I want to listen to this little shit whine on the screen every 5 seconds?

God I hate this dog.

They pretty much dropped the ball explaining anything aside the most basic mechanics like "move" and "shoot".

I'm totally okay with a minimalist approach, but jesus this is crazy. I so confused about so much of the crafting / base building.

Sorry maybe I mis-understood , but why would you assume that you will be docked materials if you are clearly placing the chair you already built that's in storage?

Because it clearly says, "Build With" followed by the materials required. Those things should be grayed out or something if at least one of the item in question is in storage.

So I'm assuming the person you set to do the supply line between settlements can die and thus stop your supply line? After I told one to start a supply line between two settlements I followed him and they seem to travel between them to keep it alive, if he gets attacked and killed, I'm assuming it'll end and I need a replacement? Anyone know?

If I were to go and unconcover most all of the wasteland at a low level, will all the enemies remain at that level or will they scale when I return there later at a higher level?

So would it be helpful (and should i) start a thread with the titles of Fallout 4 Mods and you. We can share tips, add things to the original OP with details on how to work out the kinks and what not of the game.
